Yeah, that's not what happened at all. No musician, no matter how good, can tell what tune the guitar is playing in when all the performers on the stage rely on ear monitors for audio feed of the mix. She was either singing out of tune because she couldn't hear the mix in her earpiece or she was just singing out of tune.

@@KristenBray-mt6ig It is sad, but why do we consider it sad? It becomes sad if an artist "performs beyond his or her performances" I think, for a lot of artists, it is (long)time to call it a day but moreover: their audience to grow up and stop pretending that everything in life must go on for ever and forever. Let our recollections of the eighties in our minds prevail above the unstoppable desire from people keeping seeing those - once brilliant - artists. When is an artist allowed to go with pension is the direct question here? Not at 71, obviously. Not by herself, not by the audience who is strangely denying this is a horrible performance from someone way way overdue her artistic and physical strenght and worthyness.
@@KristenBray-mt6ig One more remark: why is it, in the western world, we never seem to want to grow up? Why is it such a terror to embrace Autumn or Winter in our life? Is life obliged to us to go on forever and ever? Sometimes it seems that way, considering your remark. And I find that strange. (Freddy Mercury once sang: Who wants to live forever?)
Don't blame Cyndi Lauper's age. I've seen several of the singer's performances, including recent ones, and everything was perfect. There is clearly a sound problem and unfortunately she was uncomfortable but did the best she could. She rocks!
Mumbling into the microphone, no projection, back up singer had to help bring her up. But of course there is nothing to ashamed of of not knowing everything, because if we say that about us humans who can never know everything, then should we be ashamed of ourselves now? It's just an expression I used, no need to reply aggressively :)
Such beautiful memories. It's incredible that i have seen her since she first started. Her voice was so strong and high. She is in her 70's now. Her voice is tired. I don't care i would listen to her at any age. I've heard many artists at their young age and the voice deteriorates when you get older. Of course there are exceptions but the majority of the time the voice is not the same as when you are younger. I admire her. She always gives out a great show. You can tell she loves what she does. Kuddos to you Cindy! I will always remember you and cherish all of the memories listening to your music. Much love ❤
This song is a true classic. And Cyndi is looking great.
I listen to her when I still a young kid. Now she's in her 70s and still rocking
Not sure who at did the sound check at Glastonbury but they should have turned up the volume on Cyndi's mic. Otherwise, thanks for posting the video.
THIS is the mark of a true legend. Various generations, men, women, diverse ethnic backgrounds, all singing along. On top of that, Cyndi looks and sounds AMAZING. Love to see it.
When you play these big outdoor shows, you live and die by your monitors. Sounds like the entire band may have had funky in ear moniter mixes, including our queen. I’d blame that over anything else. It can take even well oiled machines and make it sound exactly like this. You can hear the guitarist and drummer struggling a bit with timing as well.
i agree, i heard this was a struggle for multiple acts....
Yeah, she's not at fault at all. It's just something that sometimes happens
Cyndi sounds and looks amazing.
This songs brings back memories from my high school days.
私にとって彼女はいくつ歳を重ても永遠の少女
This is INCREDIBLE! She is really a talent and the performance was just beyond stunning. I cant get enough and watched this 12X back to back.
Forever Cyndi Lauper! One of the few real artist from the 80's still sounding amazing. Rock On Cyndi!
