There is one Brazilian indie puzzle game about to release in some months this year too, the name is "Enigma of Fear", maybe a good one to look foward to
Loved the shoutout to Device 6! A really interesting puzzle adventure novel and I've been really looking forward to seeing them return to that style of cryptic puzzle game (Year Walk included)
I like that the content creators on this site have the freedom to do what they want - the way that Marty pitches a different game in the credits just because he feels passionately about it and wants to make a plug for it - you wouldn’t see that anywhere else.
Nah it's not that difficult honestly The cinematic inspirations are really messing with people's head here I think, because the game could have easily been a thematic Layton game puzzle wise
I've given up on The Witness maaaany times, but this game's really accessible. I just 100%ed and solved every puzzle in it. The puzzles are really well designed
Makes sense, they've always kind of been that even when it was just movies. A few of them distributed by A24. Kinda wonder if A24 will ever get into video games
I want to take a minute to give props to Second Wind for consistently giving great Indie games some visibility so that we can all learn about them and enjoy playing them. Great work, and looking forward to more hidden gems!
I got the game because of this review! Early on, I hit a puzzle that was so damn clever, I took a break just to reflect on great game design. Thank you for this video!
Just wanted to chime in and say that I love the writing that went into this review. It borders on poetry. Also, _House of Leaves_ is a magnificent novel, highly recommended!
Wow, Annapurna hits it out of the park again with the games they're helping to release! Thank you Annnapurna! And thank you for this great recommendation Marty!
This is the one video this week I skipped on accident. I love Year Walk so much, if I had known it was the same developer, I would've pre-ordered this the second it was announced! Yahtzee needs to try this! This is right up his alley! Year Walk was on the best games of 2013.
A very Marty game! Looks neat, but i'm probably too dumb for it. I like the little bonus bit at the end where the reviewer talks freely about it. Gets folks to watch the whole video too hehe
I've been playing it, and usually, when I play a puzzle game, only a few puzzles near the end stump me. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes on the other hand has been able to stump me and then turn around and make me feel like a genius time and after time with puzzles that look like they have straight forward solutions only to make to scratch your head and ask, "what am I missing?" when the simple intuitive answer yields nothing. I can't recommend this enough to fans of puzzle games, especially if you love a surreal experience on top of the brilliant puzzle design.
Looks interesting, but is there a strong narrative here, or is it more of a vibes kinda game? Cause a lot of the puzzle games I've bounced of off just don't have much in the way of context for the puzzles they contain, and that just kills a lot of them for me (The Witness, for example). Or to put it another way, I think any puzzles should be in service of an overarching narrative/plot, and not just be there for the sake of completing a puzzle. I think that's what I'm trying to say
oh oh! and if not too tedious to write, maybe try putting more tidbits in the patreon list like you did this time again? liking these kernels of extra info!
is this in any way related to the other Lorelai game? (2019, horror from screen 7 or harvester games) seems very different graphically but could be easily just random name coincidence.
SPOILER: There is a point where monsters start chasing you, but it's a subversion of expectations. There's no need to avoid them - in fact you have to get caught.
The game was easy and fun until the 70 percent mark. Then it became so frustrating and ridiculous that i hated every single moment of it. After finishing the game and logging into super computer, when i realized i needed to solve 9 more puzzles to figure out the story, i finally snapped and uninstalled the game. So good luck to anyone who actually likes this game. You have more patience than i had.
Hello second wind my name is Isaiah and I have something important to say to you. God loves you and like any father he wants to help you and keep you safe especially from the devil. But I am not just speaking to you about this I am also talking to your fans about this. God loves you all and especially in the times we our living in we are in need of him more than ever. But the choice is ultimately yours have a nice day Shalom Shalom.
holy snape, i actually got my first "first" in 20 years of using youtube! Seriously though, i was really looking for this game, i'm happy to hear it's good!
What a banger month for indies, and Lorelei is one of the best.
2:45 Thanks for unlocking a deep memory, I always used to get those activity books on family roadtrips, too!
Banger YEAR for indies, honestly.
No, the creators are not from India.
Oh its the Sayonara Wild Hearts guys? That explains the impeccable style.
They just released all the indie puzzle mystery games at the same time. All of them
Oh really what are some others? That's like my favorite genre I'd love some recommendations
What others? I know animal well but what else

what are the other indie puzzle mystery games ?

Year Walk mentioned!!
Genuinely my favorite game of all time for very nostalgia heavy reasons but also because it's an extremely good game
I like that the content creators on this site have the freedom to do what they want - the way that Marty pitches a different game in the credits just because he feels passionately about it and wants to make a plug for it - you wouldn’t see that anywhere else.
You ever see a game and go "Nope. I'm too stupid for this game."
Many times, and this would be one of them.
Nah it's not that difficult honestly
The cinematic inspirations are really messing with people's head here I think, because the game could have easily been a thematic Layton game puzzle wise

@@selfselected yeah top tier
Simogo always does interesting things.
Not for everyone I suppose, but it sure is a must play for me!
It's fantastic how you guys are reviewing so many indie games at release, I really appreciate it. Can't wait to try Lorelei!
Annapurna publishes banger after banger - it's like an artsy Devolver digital
Makes sense, they've always kind of been that even when it was just movies. A few of them distributed by A24.
Kinda wonder if A24 will ever get into video games
On occasion, Devolver can pull out an artsy game. The Talos Principle 1&2 are literally just “Philosophy the game”

Had to turn on all notifications cuz i feel like i miss these bytsized videos every so often. theyre really good!
House of Leaves! my late army buddy took that to one of the sandboxes out east. hope he was able to enjoy it at some point
I got the game because of this review! Early on, I hit a puzzle that was so damn clever, I took a break just to reflect on great game design.
Thank you for this video!

I loved Simogo's Device 6, so I will definitely give this one a try!

Honestly, a Puzzle Game that REQUIRES both pen and paper to crack it's puzzles REALLY brings me back to the Myst days =D
Everything Marty's been saying about this game makes it sound like it was made for me. Really looking forward to checking this one out.
Oh right this game was announced. It seemed interesting. Thanks for the reminder that it exists!
I am LOVING all the puzzle games getting attention!
Arrive for the reviews, stay for the giallo references. The world needs more games like this.
We#Re not even halfway through the year and already this has been the best year for indies ever. Now imagine Silksong coming out this year as well...
This looks so unique! Glad to hear that it's good.
Definition of BIG brain game.

From the makers of Device6! 🎉 I’m doooown
Thanks for the reminder, Marty!
I know it's unlikely, and NO SPOILERS!
But I am _really_ hoping for something like Anna (the song) from Device 6 😭
Man I totally forgot about Device 6. I remember playing that in high school.
Visually it seems to have a bit of a Killer 7 vibe
0:55 LOL this is like my dream game. Thank you!
2:22 love this guy. Subscribed! Mystery games are my absolute favorite and I've kept an eye on this one. Thank you for your efforts.
AAA would never make a game this rad.
I feel, there's a bit of a reference to Breakfast at Tiffany's, in this game. Am a fan of Audrey's.
Certainly an interesting title
Interesting. Added to my Steam Wishlist.
Device 6 is fucking AMAZING
Wait these are the device 6 people? Ooooooo
🎵its anna, sweet anna dreams are comin true, one in a million that is you🎵
This looks so good
Yeah as soon as you told me these made DEVICE 6 I knew I need to get this game. ♥️
Gives me strong early Suda51 vibes

Seems like a great game to get lost in.
I played DEVICE 6. It is awesome.
Thanks again

this looks like a game where I discover how dumb I really am
This is nice
is this in any way related to the other Lorelai game? (2019, horror from screen 7 or harvester games) seems very different graphically but could be easily just random name coincidence.
My brain is too small for this game.
What music is being used , its so good.
Any chance it's coming to xbox or PS later?
House of Leaves!
Insanity
Nice
So....how spooky is it actually? Cuz a complicated puzzler I'm up for...something which occasionally has monsters chasing me I'm less so
SPOILER:
There is a point where monsters start chasing you, but it's a subversion of expectations. There's no need to avoid them - in fact you have to get caught.
@@AlphaetusPrime Thanks. So it looks like I can get the game purely as a puzzler. Putting it on my wishlist, otherwise it would have never made it.
Any jump scares?
@@Freefall282 minor I'd say
Cryptmaster? Anyone at Second Wind team.
Is there a version for those with dyscalculia 🤣😂
