So let me get this straight..you can murder a man, dismember his body, dump him in a fish tank, move into his house, spend all his money, hire a "crime scene clean up company" to get rid of evidence of the crime (apart from the actual body) and still get away with his murder? How does any murderer ever get sent down for murder in America if this is an example of the legal system there?
It's actually worse. In American criminal justice sytems, the criminals are the lawyers judges and cops...it Is a for-profit human trafficking system that preys on those who can not afford to pay to stay out...they are used as laborers for mere pennies...it gets worse...
Hmmm. Missing neighbor. Unknown men seen cleaning like mad and bleach overload. Clean-up crew? Torso under the stairs? Yup, I'm sure they didn't kill Brian either... (smh)
Just to clear some things up, Gerrit van D. at Ruinerwold was holding his kids captive, he didn't kidnap them. As far as I know, he has been officially charged with "deprivation of liberty", but the case against him was put on hold last year because he suffered from a stroke. He was unable to form words or sentences and is recovering from brain damage. His four oldest kids however are suing him in their own case for alleged sexual abuse, hoping that their father will acknowledge his wrongdoings in order to get some sense of justice. The oldest son recounts how he had to wear his mother's clothes and sleep in the same bed as his father after she had died, and was sexually assaulted during that time. He also had to take his mother's role in the household as his dad believed her spirit now inhabited his body. It's completely insane. The Austrian handyman Josef B. is charged with conspiring with Gerrit and upholding the reign of terror after he became unable to do so on his own. He faces a possible 4 years in prison. Father Gerrit van D. was allegedly part of the Unification Church, or Moon sect, but added his own apocalyptical beliefs into the mix. He sought to repopulate the world with his family. The children are doing fine now. They've more or less succesfully reintegrated into society and have worked together on a book and documentary explaining their 9 year imprisonment at home.
@@KiffenderBewaehrungsversager it’s called “De Kinderen van Ruinerwold” (translation: The Children of Ruinerwold). It’s a four part documentary series that was shown on public broadcasting in the Netherlands. It’s fully in Dutch and I don’t know if you can find a version with English subtitles.
Thats quite a narrow view on things that you present there MisterDutch. Its far from cut and dried and this case opens up a gigantic can of worms, wrt proof, ethics, the role of the state wrt children and rights, etc etc. As far as i know, the case is stopped (geseponeerd) and imo very unlikely to be re opened (as for above reasons). Officially, bc Gerrit suffered a stroke years ago and is unable to speak and therefor cannot stand trial. He resides in a care facility. He is also sueing the state for 50400 Euro, of which the prosecutors said he has no right to, bc of allegations. In NL, reparations are only given AFTER a trial and people have been determined they cannot have been guilty of such crime, or the crime did not occur. You do not get compensation otherwise; so for instance you are let go, bc of lack of evidence, is not right for compensation. The evidence has to prove you did not do it, could not have done it, or crime did not occur at all. And thats rare. Also the youngest 5 children at some point stated they wished they got back to the farm with their dad. Its not all that easy to judge and even if they do not wish to go back now (which i dont know), you may argue that similarly they are under the influence of other caretakers now, which have a different influence than the father had. But its still influence. So there you see how difficult ethical problem this is. Same applies to whose children they are; the state or the parents? The allegations of abuse; same thing. The state does not apply physicla force? Hitting with sticks? Yes, the state does... But the law says the state is allowed to do so, but parents do not. Ethically, there is no difference. So who is the state to judge? Thats a regular theme btw, but all the other angles on this, also wrt religion, make this extremely complex and im sure the judges in this case are happy the man cant talk and the case is stopped. Note: this is not about my opinion, but about ethics, religion, psychology, law, state, etc. I merely try to show how difficult this is and do not take a stand in any way to justify this mans convictions, or the state.
Wonder how long it took them to figure that one out? Also, they searched his home for three days and suddenly looked inside a room under the stairs. If you ever want to disappear for a few days just go to this city, hell they’d never find you.

Brian's family, friends and neighbours did more trying to find him than the useless cops did. To make matters worse, the two pos who murdered him aren't even being held accountable. 🤬
Tbf you don’t know 100% that they killed him, they most likely did but you don’t know that for a fact. A lot of homeless people would cover up a body for a free home & money.
@@MsNoPixel Tbh, you don't know for sure if "a lot of homeless people would do that for free money and a home." You literally just stereotyped homeless people. So save me your bs comment. Brian and his friends and loved ones deserve justice.
Maybe the prosecutors wanted the police to investigate further to gather more evidence so they can have a slam dunk case. If the trial resulted in mistrial or acquittal due to lack of evidence, the 2 perps would’ve walked anyway and couldnt be prosecuted for the same crime in the future (double jeopardy).
@@MsNoPixel not enough evidence?? Living in his house, using his money , got a criminal cleaning company and his body was cut up there . How much more evidence do you need? How many people have been sentenced to life for so much less?
I am so angry that they let those 2 men off for Brian's murder and dismembering!! They are clearly guilty!! How could they let them go free?? I can't imagine how his family and friends feel over this!!!
Not necessarily guilty. I can see a scenario where two homeless men stumble upon an abandoned house, take up residence, find a dead body, freak out and try to get rid of it while caving to temptation and using the dead man's credit card to better their obviously crap lot in life. People on the streets aren't typically known for their sound reasoning and decisive decision making.
Everyone: There are strange people now using his home Police: and now? Seems innocent Everyone: They are cleaning the house with bleach and repainting the front Police: So helpful young men Everyone: Now they hired a private criminal scene cleanup crew Police: Okay will you stop calling when we catch one and set him free again?
Seriously. Wtf. Neighbors: hes missing Police: we knocked on the door. Seems he not here. Strange dudes: using his money and his house while his dismembered body decomposes The law: yep well.. Oh well.
I mean in most othet countries missing people reports are taken seriously. Just look at the second story and the incompetence in the American justice system.
The last story reminded me of the Turpin family...Jordan, who escaped, and has since managed to carve out a social media career,is a wee hero to me,she saved her siblings!
No, California failed him. Why anyone would want to live there is beyond me. They found a torso in a fish tank with no head and the hands cut off. "The medical examiner determined it to be homicide". Well, I did not need to be told that. If the medical examiner looked at it and said "Musta been a heart attack", I'd start to question how that person became a medical examiner and what school he attended to do so.
I feel like with Brian’s case the police dropped the investigation and didn’t charge those guys cause they didn’t want to get caught up in being blamed for not investigating a missing person case properly.
Apparently a neighbour of my friend who lives in a very small community had a bunch of kids running around their house all the time, but they didn't really see adults as much, aside from them coming and going. One day they went over there and walked just inside the door to the kitchen for whatever, idk what it was, but they could tell there were a bunch of people in one bedroom in the back. They were trying to be quiet but my friend could still hear them. They thought it was weird as they stood in the kitchen alone while the neighbour went into the back room. They saw a baby car seat and what they thought was a doll in it, on the floor under the table. Turns out it was a baby, the people were smoking crack, and had just left the baby alone. They were there for at least 5 minutes and the baby didn't even move. When the kids were taken and given to a relatively nearby relative, they said the baby didn't cry and went to the doctor, who told them that it had likely been so neglected that it had given up crying because no one ever came. Absolutely gut wrenching. You really don't know what's going on under your nose.
I am so grateful that these neighbors went and checked on the situation. That saved those kids' lives. I wish more people out there would really try harder when they see potentially abusive situations taking place- if everyone just ignores it and turns a blind eye- horrible things can happen.
@@hannahlee1740 That's really sad. Yeah my cousin is one of the social workers in the area so I got limited info on the baby, just because I asked what happened to it, since everyone knows about what happened. Even the Blank Face experiment showed that a few seconds of non-response from their mother causes babies intense distress and can cause trauma. So to do that to a baby all the time.. It must do severe damage to their brains for life. Like they'll have severe issues and won't fully get that it's because of neglect as an infant. They won't have conscious memories of it but the brain and body remember.
@@fyt00000 You misunderstood. It's the mother's lack of response that is distressing to the baby. It's not about seeing facial expressions in general. If a child only ever interacted with people wearing masks, that would likely impact them, but that's not what happened during the pandemic. At home everything was still normal.
Tired of the police making assumptions in the cases of missing persons which cause them to take no action - There needs to be a set of unfailing rules for them to follow instead!!
If those cops would have looked and tried harder in the beginning there would have been more of the body as well as more evidence. They had over two months to clean up the crime scene and drain his bank accounts and try and buy a getaway car.”Stupid..Yeah It Was...Very Stupid”.
To play devil's advocate here, the guys probably claimed that they didn't know the body was there and simply moved into a vacant house and hired scene cleaners because they found blood, and there's no way to fully or reliably disprove that. Not sure how they could explain away them using his credit cards, though.
The first case of Sandile Sibiya. He was definitely murdered by the hospital staff since the store room could only be accessed by a hospital staff and the murderer knew that its impossible for him to carry a dead body out of the hospital, thats why he put the dead body in the ceiling. Btw, no cctv inside or outside the store room?? Thats weird. There should be a cctv camera outside the store room (hallway).
Lifting the body to ceiling required two people. One from below and other from above. They did not give cause of death. There should have been cctv cameras on who went in or out especially a store room. .
There is another case in a South African hospital that is very much the same. The man who went missing in the other case could barely move and disappeared within seconds of his nurse stepping literally outside his door to get a blanket. His remains were found in a different wing of the hospital, in a wall that he couldn’t possibly have access too. 😮
@@nikc1520 A killer ghost maybe. The body was found in a small space between two walls with no signs of structural damage or disturbance and no cause of death could be determined. Totally bizarre! 😬
It might have been the maintenance person , they’re used to being in tight spaces , an crawl into very small spaces for his work etc electrical and pipes .
In Brian's case, I'm way more focused on the judge just suddenly dropping the case. That's incredibly unusual behavior for a judge and he should be investigated. He might've been paid off or he knew the murderers personally and constantly helped them stay free. This case needs to be opened up again by a new set of eyes. There are far too many suspicious things in that case.
With so many suspicions in mind with why all charges were dropped This story might not be accurate or even true. I know the legal system is weak in California but not this weak & seems like it's almost fake
@@kygost I agree. The problem was most likely that they couldn't specifically pin murder on them. They could have been two guys that saw an opportunity to move into a house with a dead guy and made the situation work for them. But they were still involved with the crime scene as a whole. Not sure why the whole case would be dropped. >_

My jaw dropped to the floor with that Brian case. I've seen some terrible acts of justice but that one takes the cake! I hope the family is able to get some form of justice soon!
I'm over here wondering where the two strangers get their boldness from to go in and out of Brian's house without thinking if his neighbors would be suspicious of them or not. Even having a criminal case cleanup van parked just outside his house. I think these men knew they'd get away with their crimes if they're that bold.
We heard nothing about cause of death. WTF is THAT about? In a building full of doctors? I can't help but think that discrimination is playing a role in how Brian's case is being treated..🧐 With all the circumstances and evidence, there's no reason for that case to not be solved and prosecuted..
If the cops had done more when the suspicions were first raised this case most likely wouldn't be unsolved. The culprits had soooo much time to destroy evidence right under everybodys noses. 😣

Police do not charge anyone with anything. Prosecutors do. Police do the investigating TO A POINT; when they have enough evidence, they take it to the prosecutor who decides to issue a warrant. This is with an investigation only. Police can and do arrest people on sight, but they have to present evidence within 72 hours to a prosecutor to determine charges, if any. Please, if you are going to condemn the justice system, learn how it works. People screaming about how police are ineffective (there are some----but it's very, very few) do not understand that the police are told what they can and cannot do re crime in the community. By the city council, the Mayor, the other governing bodies around them. There are laws the police have to follow also (no parking outside a bar and picking off drivers for DUI for instance). Search and seizure laws, incrimination laws and so much more. The ones to have anger towards in this case is the prosecutor/judge who decided to drop all charges because the evidence was circumstantial. San Francisco had a recall of it's District Attorney who was in charge of that case because he was notorious for not bringing charges for violent crimes. He was discharged from his job. SF is notorious for it's bad prosecution (not police) and allowing violent crime to run rampant. Even their own mayor went national saying that what was happening could not be tolerated or accepted---yet it continues to this day in spite of change of District Attorney and prosecutors. And why homeless and criminals are taking over the city. Wish you the best in your week ahead, and hope you have happy days :D
The first case is so puzzling. Did he get himself in the ceiling? Why would he ? How did he access a room only accessible by staff, and why the ceiling? What did he die of ? Did someone murder him ? As a healthcare worker in Durban, South Africa. I’ve worked at these hospitals. You don’t understand the state of government hospitals here 💀 patients frequently go missing, because of overcrowding and lack of resources.
In US it is estimated that the medical system is the second leading cause of death, whether it be due to malpractice, or just the "medicines" prescribed.

That’s California law. The leftist lawmakers take pity on the criminal. We moved after living in California for 60 years. When Newsome began his evil regime, and leftists completely took over with wokism, the state has been systematically destroyed. The cops couldn’t do a thing, the prosecutors either. Since these stories are true, those who are causing horrific abuse, damage to and even possibly murdering others should not be protected. Their faces and names should be placed in the media, especially when they have harmed innocent children & people. So sickening. May God bless them and their families.
Very true. Its horrible because eventually some of these monsters will be released from custody and people will have no idea who they are & they end up finding more victims. It feels like societies/justice systems are more interested in protecting the criminals more than the innocent victims. It will never make sense to me why & how they allow these monsters anonymity.

Crime scene cleaners accepting private contracts is super suspicious. I’d take a close look at their work record. If hired privately I think they should be referred to as “evidence removers”
Its not unusual in many countries, for some its the landlords responsibility to clean up any waste or hire someone to do it. For the cleanup crew it was just another day on the job.
Crime scene cleanup crew is a bit of a misnomer. They are bio-hazard cleaners, They are usually under the umbrella tag of flood fire mold cleaners. Bio-hazard cleaning usually involve non-criminal bio-hazards such as a bleed out, or body fluid expulsion. Basically medical without a crime. They will cleanup crime scenes but that's after the cops do their job and the owner of the property contracts with them. State has nothing to do with it.
For that first case, I would expect that one of the hospital staff majorly messed up and gave Sandile a lethal dose of something unintentionally, killing him. Panicked, they probably ended up stuffing him up in the ceiling.
Yeah I think that’s most likely. An attempt to cover up negligence. Or it could be an “Angel of death” killer. There’s more of them than you would expect.
Idk some guy from that area commented above and said Sandile wasn't the only suspicious death/hidden body there apparently that hospital was known for it! Idk how true that is
How in the world did they not have enough evidence to convict those guys in the second story? Very strange that those charges just got dropped like that. I've seen cases with less evidence get convicted. That seemed pretty much open and shut to me.
I don't want to pull the gay card but in the UK there was a serial killer who literally got away with murder for years despite leaving all his victims bodies in the same place. They were all last seen at gay clubs so we're clearly on drugs and deviants who all conveniently od'd in the same place. 🙄. It doesn't surprise me that they just brushed over it and moved on. Police are as bad as most criminals for lies, corruption & discrimination
Its indeed very suspicious. There seems to be plenty of 'evidence' to convict them. Maybe not for murder, but at least for a number of other things (tampering with evidence, etc). There is a chance they let them go, bc they lawyered up and its going to be hard to convict them for murder. You cant try them again. So stopped the prosecution leaves the possibility to try them later, when they have more evidence. For instance if one of them admits to someone that they did this....

You can still climb with a leg and 2 arms, getting up there would take more upper body strength than lower so you wouldn't need to use your legs much besides getting a knee up. Putting a dead person in the ceiling would be harder than climbing up there with a leg that is broken. Who knows what happened though. My best bet is he climbed up there and was crawling around and died somehow, no clue why or how. Look at South Arica (or was it India?) and in The Netherlands those police were way more interested in doing their jobs and actually investigated from the first 'warning sign'....unlike the San Francisco police who never investigated anything until they could no longer ignore it. Then it was still too late....unbelievable, shocking incompetence and callous attitude- the whole system in San Francisco is really screwed. His family should sue them all.

What you said at the end is true.... we had no idea that right next door to us, a woman by the name of jaycee dugard was being held captive in a makeshift sound proof room in a backyard of the property and was missing for over 18 years from lake Tahoe. We always knew the neighbor and his wife were off, and seemed crazy, and he was not to be spoken too, and then one day on the porch of our house in high-school, we just see the house of Phillip and Nancy Garrido being raided by the sheriff's and then the fbi coming . We saw the woman being found alive, her children being rescued as well that the captors made with her and they then were at that house every day for weeks coming the property, then demolishing the house. But 1 daughter and 2 sons. And the news of the “fact” that they lied about their ages is nowhere to be found in the dutch media (as far as i can see, i tried to find it after watching this video). They didn't care when they knocked on his door the first time to make their half-hearted attempt at locating him when his neighbors were more worried about him than his family or the police. Wow. 👵
Volunteers do welfare checks, in order to free actual police officers to do other work. Volunteers are often elderly retired people. Having a 70 year old female do a door knock with no response, and no family calling to report a missing person (they didn't call for a long, long, long time btw) is not going to launch an investigation. There were no outward signs to be concerned about. Police in big cities often have HUNDREDS of 'welfare checks' to do in a week, so volunteers do them. 99.99 percent are people who are fine. You can't kick down doors of 99.99 percenet of the peoples doors because .01 percent may/may not have something wrong. Because even that .01 percent isn't the total of those who have an actual problem. It's .0001. So, stop jumping to conclusions and judging others when you don't know the situation or how things work other than in your own back yard.

Yeah I wanna see the documentary

I wonder if Sandile Sibiya was killed and put in the ceiling on purpose. How else would a guy with a broken leg be able to climb up into the ceiling and why?
You can still climb with a leg and 2 arms, getting up there would take more upper body strength than lower so you wouldn't need to use your legs much besides getting a knee up. On top of that SF was so notorious for bad decisions on criminal prosecutions, that the entire city demanded a recall and fired their District Attorney for allowing decisions like this case. Be blessed and learn a few things in the world before going on a judgmental rant.
The rumble in his voice is just amazing!
The first person was gone missing, its 2019, what about CCTV??? What kind of hospital that has no camera in every corner.. The second case is unbelievable.. I cannot believe they let those criminals go.. Obviously they are suspect for brian egg.. The third case was full of bravery.. The man was really brave for telling his story and asking for help..
I mean absolutely no disrespect to people of South Africa, but due to its economic situation it is considered a third world country. CCTV is probably not high on that hospital's priority list.
@@kissofshadows21 Actually, I’d be more hesitant when calling it a third world country. It is both a third word and first world country. As a South African who admittedly grew up privileged, all I knew was a life of luxury. Unfortunately, there is a lot of poverty in South Africa, as you know. But Durban (while a somewhat unsafe city) is not a third world area.
@@camikaye6795 yes but the hospital itself is not the good type, it's the last option kind of hospital when you have nowhere else to go to. They're unfortunately not known to have a good service.
@@camikaye6795 Long-term consequences of Apartheid, ladies and gentlemen...
tbf I've only noticed camera near the entrances, not in random corridors and defo not on wards
I'm South African and the way he keeps saying Sandile is hilarious, so exotic, lol! But he says Sibiya very well. Thanks for the story, first time hearing about it.
How is it supposed be said? Is it like san-dial?
@@jessicadecoteau1178 no, not like that :) I'll try my best to explain it. San- like sun, di- like 'DI'ctionary and le- like LEg, so something like sʌn/dɪ/lɛ. I hope that helps. It's a beautiful name
Listen to the differences between 6:47 7:09 7:14 and 7:38 of pronunciations.
Ohh nvm I can't find it but one of the pronunciations was as said it should be but only once.
Those two men living in Brian's house should be charged and kept in jail until they confess to the murder and dismemberment of Brian Egg. The DA needs to look back into this case more throughly.
Love your voice. Perfect pace, tone, volume. Exceptional vocabulary.
