    Things to consider when lowering your car
    Rear camber - adjustable arms
    Top mounts
    Rear shock bolt n10428101
    It all depends on what you after so things to consider:
    Cheap lows with height adjustment
    lower but maintaining comfort
    handling and adjustable
    budget
    longevity
    track / race use
    Aftercare......
    Also worth considering is fitment, do you need shorter drop links, will you need spacers for the shock body to clear the wheels now

    That looks a perfect height for the track Dom, love those spring covers!!! and great to see your lift in action. Interesting to see the air flow ducting to the brakes, that will probably save the discs from melting on the ring! Had my underside painted, really good idea to do that.....much easier with a lift though!!!

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah low enough it still handles well but not too low to drag objects with me, the cooling ducts work so well on track, when on a track day you can literally 2 foot brake at every corner and you wont lose the pedal, catches others out tho haha

    My standard quattro left hand TT drives well comfortable and steering is good to up to about 100 mph. Over that it feels too soft not so confident to push it around. I was just thinking next step lowering to fast road springs 40mm. As the cost goes well up changing both shocks and springs..then more thinking I will change both get the job done. Then anti roll bars etc..Yes car stance looks fine as standard but lowered looks better.

  • @kianyi2557
    @kianyi2557 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very true. I got 40mm springs for my TT, and the front still almost looks stock. The rear dropped nicely, but the front sits too high.

    looks perfect sat at that height now 👌 I neeed one of these lifts or one that is drill operated! 🤔 be so much easier to do work on the car

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So i looked at the drill operated one but ive had one in the past and its a faff to use, you need a decent drill as it takes quite a lot of strain to lift and lower, i have been using scissor hydraulic ramps prior to this, you drive on them then pump it up, work great but are very heavy and a pain to move around.
      Thanks i am really happy with the stance of the car now

    Love the lift mate that’s a right bargain I’ve just paid not far off that for some bloody polystyrene race ramps🙄. That sits much nicer now 👍 quick question I believe that’s the suspension I have I struggle to adjust the front suspension as it’s so close to the cv boot (mine prob sits a bit lower 1 finger gap if that🤣) any suggestions? Just want to see what the difference is, very noticeable difference on rears.
    Also just finishing lanoguarding mine seems really good stuff just makes the car smell like a farmyard🤣
    Good stuff

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats mad! i am very pleased and blessed to have got it, going to be a massive help going forwards!
      Adjusting wise is always hard work, unloading the shock / spring makes it a little easier ( taking the weight off the shock / spring) as long as the threads are clean its a slow process as often you can only get about 1/4 of a turn at best each time.
      Not yet smelt the stuff but i will be getting a mask thanks haha, specially as i dont want to get any in my beard aha

    • @grantyleber2336
      @grantyleber2336 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that. I wouldn’t trust myself with the spanner thing to adjust height🤣 it’s just the valve on the bottom for dampening/rebound think your right though if it was jacked and not on a ramp there will likely be a bit more room.
      I’m sure your well aware of it but I’ve been doing the underneath and been well impressed with neutrarust well worth giving a coating before the lanoguard bit of extra protection and transforms the look for such little effort

    im so lucky i was about to change my supsension on mine. I found some b6's. Do you have any opinion on those?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are decent shocks i would happily recommend them, what springs are you using them with?

  • @friedfunk5246
    @friedfunk5246 ปีที่แล้ว

    So my friend is offering me some lowering springs that are h and r, should I take them and will they mess up my suspension in a bad way like the tire scraping the fender. I also have an Audi mk1. But I have no coilovers we would just be replacing the spring. Is it worth it?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      H & R are decent springs and offer quite a nice ride height / stance, the issue with fitting any lowering springs on old standard shock absorbers is you will increase the stress on the shocks, make them work harder and likely reduce there life span, a lowering spring should be matched with a shortened shock absorber but i have used lowering springs in the past with stock shocks and its ok, just so you know all the facts

  • @danieljohnson8092
    @danieljohnson8092 ปีที่แล้ว

    The gap with the bilstien eibach combination is a problem. I have them and have the same gap. It is meant to be a 25mm drop but it is not- it's factory. really annoying.What are other people using?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s it mate, it’s like it needs about 1 coil removing from the front springs haha I partly blamed the powerflex top mounts too

    Hi Dom
    Im after new springs fron and rear on my audi tt coup bam engine 225bhp quattro do you know the part numbers and where i can get them from

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are possibly 40 variants. If you have original factory Spring Still you may be able to see the paint marks on there. This will then relate to a part number, failing that. Speak to someone like Coverdale Car Parts give them your registration and they should be able to advise what you need.

    • @TheParrottBros

      Ah ok cheers, so not necessarily a performance/sports upgrade, more of a refresh of suspension keeping similar characteristics ?

  • @benjamindebacker8075
    @benjamindebacker8075 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice, I have e question I life in Belgium so the roads are not that very good. I use my TT as e daily, I want to overhaul the subframe. Is it still oké to putt in the blue powerflex bushes all around the car, car is already lowered on kw1 variant. Will thr bushes not to hard. Or is er e better like less hard pu bushes that you now?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      By adding powerflex or superpro bushes you will stiffen up your car quite a bit and its not a particularly nice ride if its your daily car. New rubber bushes will still transform the car as the 15-20 year old ones currently on there will be tired and have play. Unless you plan to do track work or want a road track car i would opt for new oem on most and just polybush the front wishbones for a bit better steering feel
