I have actually owned the original MPC Live, MPC X, MPC Studio Black, and MPC One. I got rid of all of them and settled on the MPC One with the Sony battery workaround strapped to the side. So i'm just as portable with the smaller unit that fits right in my bookbag. I also like the OG style of the clickity clacks when it comes to the buttons on the One. lol works for me perfectly. If I just have to have keys on the go, I bring my Arturia Microlab and I'm good to go.
The Live 2 with my MPK Mini Plus is my new favorite combo for making music. I’m kinda over DAWs and the MPC just has that special feel and vibe to it when you’re creating.
Yeah nothing more distracting than going on your laptop to use a DAW then you end up on youtube watchibng Bolo videos. When I'm on my Live 2 I make beats for hours non-stop and have to force myself to take a break and distract myself.
Can you send me a link on how to setup my mpk plus with my Mpc live 2? I need help. When I bought it I thought it would auto map. I was sadly mistaken. Thanks.
Facts I rock the Mpc live 2 and once you learn the workflow it’s the best standalone sampler out there imo the amount of music I’ve been able to make on it is in the thousands because of the workflow
I agree that MPC Live II redrums all other MPC workstations (MPC One, X, Key). Mobility (Speaker and rechargeable battery) and available SSD bay puts it above and beyond other MPC workstations. MPC One is the best portable option, if you carry headphones and plug it tf up. MPC 2000 Classic is the best MPC ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait I thought you used to go around saying the 3k was the best hands down. I’m asking casue I think there’s something to the 2000 classic. With its metal sound and heavier bottom then the XL that nobody seems to notice. It’s like Roger Lynn dna is still on it from 3k a mix between his genes and the new company that took over.
Key 37 for me. Simply because I like having all the physical buttons for a lot of the functions and I’m learning the muscle memory on the placement of all of them.
I’m a musician/producer. I mainly use Ableton. I never had an MPC until the MPC ONE came out in 2020. I purchased one from sweetwater immediately and never took it out of the 📦. Now 2024, It’s still in my closet. I been wanting to learn it but my schedule is hectic. I was also concerned about learning it. My work flow in Ableton is all I need, but whenever I see one of Bolo’s video about an MPC, I always get hyped 😅.
I strongly suggest getting it out and learning it, because I was the same way had a great Ableton workflow and the mpc kind of intimidated me until I fit it in my schedule here and there and saw that it wasn't as hard as it looked plus you can save your projects as Ableton live sets so that you and finish in the daw. One thing I love is doing my drums in the box but if I'm tracking guitar or bass I still do it in Ableton.
Honestly would agree this to be the best mpc ever made, I have had mpc2000xl, and the 2500 I still keep. I’ve used the MPC3000, 4000, and the original Mpc60 the register. I gotta keep it funky while those machines have a sound to it and a legacy due to all the records that were made on them and the innovation for the times they were created they did what they did and then some. BUT I’ve never came across a machine that can do so much before the MPC Live series. We’re talking portability, and creativity at its best. All you need is this BOX .
I also chose the One Plus when I bought MPC first time and I switched to Live 2, it was a noteable upgrade. The UI where you hit shift+pad buttons to open menu buttons >>> the random assortment of buttons on the One. The only thing I miss is a dedicated "sampler" button but otherwise it's perfect Also the battery, I never use it on the couch like I thought I would (its pretty bulky and I have lots of shit plugged in like my mixer + speakers so its annoying) but having the battery prevents loss of data when the power goes out or you (or my cat) accidentally hit the power cord off. That alone is worth it IMO.
I mean the speaker is hella nice if you like to walk around the house or quickly take this anywhere without packing up speakers and having to set them up. Decent enough for when you're not trying mix n master at least
@@BeatsByGemsmiff that’s what a studio is for. A mic in my opinion would’ve been useless because the quality wouldn’t be as good as if you would’ve just went to the studio. The speakers on the other hand at least give you a decent reference of what you’re making without having to hook up external ones. And then on top of that, it has USB for interfaces and other gear so it’s all around good for me sad I sold mines
I have a my first MPC I have and on is the MPC Studio Live 2 I got it for Christmas last year my wife got it for me. Been wait it sents I was a kid 36 years later I got it 😭😭😭😁😁 I love it. And I used Logic and Ableton live got a year lift getting my bachelor's degree in Music Production. So I'm hype about that
That is good BoLo. My favorite MPC ever is the MPC X SE. i love form factor, sound, ins and outs and hands on access to all of the functions without menus of the MPC X SE. for portability I prefer the MPC ONE. I have used most of the new MPCs and most of the older MPCs. However yes the MPC 2500 is amazing. I use my MPC X SE with a MKP 261 for keys.
It is the best I had the one but I returned it and just paid the difference for the live 2 . The fact that it has a battery , speakers built in and wifi, also it holds a hard drive . These things make really make it easier.
I left FL STUDIO alone over 8 months ago, over the years I have dabbled with maschine (and like it) but this time around I decided to try my hands with the mpc one plus and MMMMANNN ITS A GAME CHANGER … my biggest plus … no computer … plug and create anywhere
I have to say that my first MPC is the MPC Live and I couldn't have made a better choice. Portability is definitely a must for events or studio sessions.
I love the MPC 2500; personally I like it better than the 2000, 3000 or 4000. However, I mostly make music using my MPC X SE, it is everything I ever want in an MPC minus better converters which I fix with outboard gear and I’m good. I don’t like internal batteries; I’ve had a lot of trouble with internal batteries that are not made to be remover as part of the design. As far as speakers, I prefer to choose my own or have great headphones.

Key 61 stays in my living room and is more for inspiration or when my girl watching her shows. may be backwards but is what it is. key61 nostalgic too like an arranger and changes the vibe up
My favorite is the MPX X SE because it helped me to understand my MPC LIVE (OG) functionality better. I like the Q Links on the X SE so much because it helped me to use them more productively on my OG LIVE. With both in constant use, each serves a different purpose. My X SE is good for the studio like a desktop computer and my OG LIVE is portable like a laptop computer. I can exchange projects between the 2 with a compact flash card because they mirror each other with data, expansions and plugins. I learned that from you BOLO! Thanks
I really love my mpc live 2 and I enjoy all these Features like the ins and outs , because I use most of the time synths . Sometimes i think the X se would be nice because it has more ins and outs , but then I also enjoy the good size of the live 2 because I have some space issues . Thx bolo for all your videos , your such a lovely person 🙂👋👍
Tie between the X SE and Live II for me. I’m not on the road as much these days. The X SE has all the I/O I need. The form factor puts me on the mind of the classic MPC’s. Both are great!
I have had the chance to own the Mpc x and the Mpc Live2. I would have to go with the Mpc Live2 overall when it comes to the newer Mpc. The Mpc Live2 is like having a computer inside a midi controller body. I made 35 albums and some singles on it.
Im with you on this! The Mpc Live is powerful enough to get it all done! I agree... the Mpc Keys would be a end all be all if it had Hdmi to monitor a speaker and the battery... and a SSD
It’s all about the Live 2! The battery, connectivity and size make the best package. The SE X is amazing but too big to use in anywhere but one spot and the Live 2 is less than half the price. Live 2 is all 🔥🔥🔥
I've got a One Plus. It's my first. I've made music in FL in the past but I'm a drummer and really like the tactile part of making tunes on the MPC better. Now that I've had it a while and the key37 came out I'm thinking of selling my plus to get the key instead. Either that or an MPK mini
I like the Live II, but I wish I had been paying attention to the market because I bought it about a week before the XSE came out. I'm not lugging equipment around anymore so I would be fine just leaving it hooked up at home.
9:49 I want a FORCE with batterie and speakers and that will be my BEST. Otherwise, the MPC LIVE for the exact same reasons you explained. Being able to compose anytime and anywhere is the BEST way to catch our inspiration, and that…........is PRICELESS.

just bought one, but my booyyyy it’s really buggy. My plug ins be crashing, I sometimes get stuck on the main start up screen. seems to be a common thing I see in the forums. wondering if it’s software errors or I need to return it.
Ive had the Live I, one and X. The X is by far my favorite but if I had to choose between a live and a one I would go with the one all day everyday and maybe even twice on Sundays. I bought a battery pack for it off amazon and rarely if ever use it. And Im sure I would never use the speakers on the two.
Bolo you’re such a comedian sometimes. ‘Battery, speakers…battery, speakers.’ AKAI, I hope you are listening. 😂 But seriously I wanted a MPC LIVE II as my first sampler, but it was way out of my budget, so I opted for the NI MASCHINE MIKRO instead.
I wish they would put a battery and a small nvme SSD slot into MPC one. Then you're talking ultraportable! I'm an Akai Force user, But now interested in the MPC's now they have similar software to the Force.
The Mpc live 2 change the game on many different levels. Extraordinary piece!!

The Live Mini is next one coming soon.
Bro, you sweating bricks hit the ac 😂
I had just got out the shower from working out 🏋🏾♂️ 😂
The content is hot. That's why lol.
just bought one, but my booyyyy it’s really buggy. My plug ins be crashing, I sometimes get stuck on the main start up screen. seems to be a common thing I see in the forums. wondering if it’s software errors or I need to return it.
I never had problems with it, even with the Beta versions. I must be lucky. Have you updated everything?
updated everything yup.
That's your specific device because I never have any of those issues. Probably need to trade it in for another one.
@@apexone5502 yea exchanged for another it was hardware related
2:32 It was so compact, that was crazy
Better than the X SE?
Mpc live ll, I use it with my mpk225 controller
Ive had the Live I, one and X. The X is by far my favorite but if I had to choose between a live and a one I would go with the one all day everyday and maybe even twice on Sundays. I bought a battery pack for it off amazon and rarely if ever use it. And Im sure I would never use the speakers on the two.
One hits more harder
@@Vivre-os3ht sound wise between the mpcs? Nah they all sound the same
Bolo you’re such a comedian sometimes. ‘Battery, speakers…battery, speakers.’ AKAI, I hope you are listening. 😂 But seriously I wanted a MPC LIVE II as my first sampler, but it was way out of my budget, so I opted for the NI MASCHINE MIKRO instead.
i real dont move around so i pick MPC ONE but live 2 is on my ..........
Favorite even above the X?
I wish they would put a battery and a small nvme SSD slot into MPC one. Then you're talking ultraportable! I'm an Akai Force user, But now interested in the MPC's now they have similar software to the Force.
