“There’s a time to quantize and there’s a time to use your natural feel!!” One of the best points ever! The balance between my internal feel groove clock and that classic MPC swing! Great video! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Great video, Yes, a video clip on Grooves and Quantize would be brilliant. Its a component that makes people want to dance and it makes great records. Thank you for this video.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
to see an arrangement mode in the mpc nowadays is so funny to me. I used to make music on a Roland MV8800. They had this feature already almost 20 years ago! I wished Roland woul've kept making newer versions of the mv8800. But I gotta say the MPC key37 looks really appealing to me
I’ll be 55 years old in a couple of weeks, I been through the rack akai samplers from back in the day. This would be a nice birthday present 🎁 for myself. I’m considering getting this soon. Great video ❤ keep up the good work my brother and God bless you abundantly.
Another educational groove blessing the ears royally. Thank you for everything that you do especially taking the time to drop every piece of jewelry, King Yaahn! Also, I can't get enough of the vocal chops 🎶🎵✊🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿✊🏿👑👑👑
Hey dude, I know you’re creative and thinking 2GB of RAM in 2024 seems low, but here’s the thing-you might not fully understand the technical side. The MPC runs on a Linux-based OS that’s optimized for audio production, meaning it doesn’t need huge RAM. With a quad-core ARM processor and fast cache memory, it handles tasks in real-time without lag. The system prioritizes efficiency over raw specs, and more RAM just isn’t necessary for its design.
@@Eric_In_SF thank you for explaining that. I kept seeing people hate on it but never understood how the system actually uses ram compared to a normal PC
@@kippreggelogan9570 dude you actually have brain damage. Im agreeing with the original comment…. How did you even figure out how to use the internet when you have that low of an iq? Jesus man
Great Video Yaahn. I don’t usually comment but you are fast becoming my must see teacher. I’m looking forward to even more of your videos. You have a great teaching style. It’s relaxed and easy to follow. I got a MPC Key 37 earlier this year and I’m really hungry to learn and get the best out of it. I love the funky grooves you are laying down in your tutorials. It makes the videos are even better. This unit and the MPC is all about the groove for me. I would love to see a video on Grooves and Quantising as there is a lot to take in, with the use of samples and sampling, getting it all to sync with your chosen tempo, but still staying natural and loose. It would also be nice to see you put together a full song including vocals, to show how it can all come together. I would like to see how you leave space for a vocalist in the verses, changing up the drums to announce the Pre-Chorus into the Chorus etc. Anyhow you are definitely one to watch going forward. I look forward to more great videos from you. Thanks, from a UK Bro.
Much RESPECT DUE to Yaahn Hunter, Jr. - you're definitely one of the most practical and unselfish producers out there !!! It's always an education with you !!! PEACE & Blessings !!!
Great vid! The Keys 37 is my first MPC and I absolutely love it. Best bit of gear I've ever bought! I am a bit anxious about the update, but hopefully I'll get used to it as I use Ableton a lot and it looks similar. Thanks for the vid :)
Been doing production professionally since the 90’s. Compared to back then, the Mpc 37 definitely good enough for all users depending on your process. Personally I love it but yes definitely needs more ram. Reminds of working on the asr-10
I went with the key 61 just because it had a slightly heavier instrument library and additional ram. But I agree the 37 is the best bang for your buck all in one sequencer/workstation.
8gb of ram would be insanely amazing but I do fill like since they run it on Linux software we will probably never see an upgrade option. I wish they made it with standard ram so we could upgrade ourselves
I think 2 is enough… I’ve not run into much issues where I run out…. If I do I sample to drum/keygroup programs… 3.0 disk streaming is a game changer… it’s not like an mpc has the OS overhead that a pc/Mac has… windows uses at least 2gb of ram at idle…. Mpc doesn’t need any desktop environment which is a primary resource hog on pc’s…
Mpc needs a huge wake up call compared to let me say fl studio if they can redo there set up than and only than it's for beginners I had to sell mines this is definitely not for beginners
I feel that! MPC 3.0 is a LOT simpler! As a legacy MPC user, I can honestly say that they have the beginners in mind on this update. It's not perfect AT ALL! But its a step in the right direction.

this thing in retro gray would be crazy
Damn that would be so clean! Red isn't my favorite but it kinda reminds me of a Nord Modular, so I roll with it

@theguacamoleman6019 if you don't like it make your own mpc and put as much ram in it as your heart content.

8 gig is a must , no question, 2024 nearly 2025
Money in the pocket is my most valued part of workflow.
That part!!

Thanks for this. I've been on the back and forth about the MPC Key 37 and think I'm about ready to pull the trigger.

I love mine! It’s just enough and works great as a controller too.
That beat is so cold and smooth.
Yaahn is That Dude!!
Blessings!!
Going to guitar center to get this in a few weeks. Can't wait
This is a great piece of gear and it would be a greater piece of gear with the wish list as mentioned...your channel and content are awesome...💯👍🏼🔥
Thanks a lot for tuning in!!
I'm buying this one when it's either white, grey or cream with a better RAM. And a built-in battery !
Just picked up my chill-hop kit!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks a lot for the support!!!!!!!!
Bought one brand new at Guitar Center last night. Dude even took $100 off. 💯

8 gigs of Ram would be good, but they would have to increase the plug-in track limits, and audio track limit in standalone to take advantage of it.
14:45 💎💎💎thanks fam
Anytime!!
The bass made this track.
Wanted it and than bought my key 61 for $790 off of eBay. I would’ve missed out on so much! Still a cool product tho.
Actually, if you read up on it, a lot of people actually prefer the newer 37 since it’s kind of addresses all the flaws of the 61
That beat is 🔥🔥🔥
Dope
Agreed, 8 gigs!!
I hope they make it so you can mute tracks with the 16 pads while in arrangement view so you can be quicker to test out different ideas via mutes.
more ram would be nice and i cant wait to try the beta
yes speakers needed to be a standalone
8gb of ram would be insanely amazing but I do fill like since they run it on Linux software we will probably never see an upgrade option.

I think you're right... I believe the XSE runs on 4GB RAM though so I'm like.. lol!!!
Definitely needs 4 to 8 gigs of ram for key 37

I was wondering have you ever ran into memory issues far as it not being enough?
Can you not automate mutes anymore?
Yer I don’t know why they are pushing all these plugins which use ram but still only making them with 2 ram.
Can you please play The Cherry Moon tracks The House of house turned in Lokeren Cherry Moon tracks 👍
Why is the MPC slowly turning into the Force? Just get the Force and leave MPC the old way.
for the price i expect 32 gig ram
the keys looks small
Do any of you really run into ram limits that often?
@@Wolfman311 nope
Only when you use an excessive amount of FX and Instrument Plugins. Generally, you "should be" fine
Akai is made in Japan right? They typically only have 2"Gb of ram to work with, so
I know a cheat code to match keys 😁…
Please do tell lol!!!!
At least 4gB of Ram
AGREED!
Well, I think the first part of your review you can skip we can clearly see it comes with keys and pads and buttons 😂
Amazing 👀😂😂😂
Modern MPCs don't apeal to Me because Akai (in My opinion) put the best parts of there MPCs onto there midi controllers.
