The very being he was created to surpass and destroy... And now that he’s damaged and alone, I think he’s going to have a pretty low self-esteem right now. But maybe compassion from the likes of Shadow, Tails, and maybe even Amy could help him find new meaning in his life? I seriously hope you have Metal Sonic turn good! Oh and speaking of Shadow... I’m pretty sure the black arms are still out there.
Imagine that the events of Unleashed happened and Sonic met Chip. Maybe they'd become friends and maybe he'd unwittingly bring back Sonic's kind-hearted nature.

But then Shadow Heroes comes out and shows that Sonic survived, possibly being a huge part of the marketing for that game. Where would the games go from there?

This is breaking my heart. It's one thing to see Shadow going through this type of pain in the game that was titled after him, but Sonic himself, aligning with Eggman? It's quite scary. Tails, Knuckles and Amy... their long time friend becoming this shell of what he was. Cream doesn't even know him because Shadow is the one to take Sonic's place in the Advanced games, Shadow's filling in what Sonic left behind, Rouge has bonded with him over the journey and it amounted to this, and Omega was indifferent... oh, and the Chaotix and Big were there as well I guess.
Wow, now this story is taking a turn I didn't expect. You made a move here with Eggman that places him as a genius evil man: placing his enemies into traps and right into his hands, and I loved it! With the group scattered, in search of their friend, how will they be able to stand together and rescue Sonic, when a dark presence is slowly approaching the planet? And what this event will mean to both Shadow and Silver?
Yo that line about “I have no mouth but I must scream” just made think that metal sonic is Am (the villain of the book) just with a body, because when metal is in his neo form and has free will they act almost the same, except Am is more fucked up.
At some point, Metal Sonic will download himself an android Sonic that he upgraded and take control of the Sonic androids. Eggman will reluctantly join forces with the Sonic gang with Sonic still believing his lies. At some point Blaze will show up. Eggman will have Sonic use the chaos emeralds and he and Shadow will fight each other in their super forms. When he’s in his super form, the emeralds and the master emerald will will unlock Sonic’s memories. Eggman will regain control over Metal Sonic 2.0 and his Sonic androids. Then super Sonic, super Shadow, and super Silver will battle Eggman in whatever new giant robot he makes for the final boss fight. Sonic Shadow and Silver win, Silver and Blaze go back to the future, and Sonic goes back to his friends

The ending twist reminds me of that Transformers Prime episode. For those who know, you know but for those who don't, Optimus Prime looses his memory after a battle and Megatron manipulates him into believing he and the decepticons are the good guys, It's a really good episode(s). I wonder how these will be twisted to a good ending, assuming that's gonna be the case. I just started my binge and I'm about to start E3. I must say SS, your What Ifs are quite interesting and take an abnormal route but also believable enough and not just batshit insanity. So far I've only watched and finished (so far) Gamma's survival. I admire your work, kudos.

I'm not really surprised, Eggman has been a trickster at heart and has done this in the past. Plus I think after the defeat of Eggman's plot, the heroes are gonna capture the corrupted Sonic and try to help him recover his memory and Metal Sonic will be seeking revenge on Eggman and Sonic.
I'm just imagining a scenario that might happen towards the end of this story where Sonic is just in a mental downward spiral because he just doesn't know who to trust anymore and starts questioning why he's still here? *JUST TO SUFFER?*

Sonic Shadow and Silver win, Silver and Blaze go back to the future, and Sonic goes back to his friends

And it also doesn’t help that Omega (and possibly Metal Sonic) want Eggman dead despite being created by him. The doctor just has a bad history of associates betraying him.
I think Metal will find Tails and friends even if he can't speak,he will use sign language and take down Eggman together,and Sonic will remember everything by Silver bringing him back to the past

What if Sonic was paralyzed from the waist-down? (There’s a word for it, I forgot what it was) The basic conflict about it is pretty obvious: He wouldn’t ever be able to run again, his biggest advantage is now non-existent. He can’t even walk on his own.

The ending twist reminds me of that Transformers Prime episode. For those who know, you know but for those who don't, Optimus Prime looses his memory after a battle and Megatron manipulates him into believing he and the decepticons are the good guys, It's a really good episode(s).
I wonder how these will be twisted to a good ending, assuming that's gonna be the case. I just started my binge and I'm about to start E3.
I must say SS, your What Ifs are quite interesting and take an abnormal route but also believable enough and not just batshit insanity. So far I've only watched and finished (so far) Gamma's survival. I admire your work, kudos.

I'm not really surprised, Eggman has been a trickster at heart and has done this in the past. Plus I think after the defeat of Eggman's plot, the heroes are gonna capture the corrupted Sonic and try to help him recover his memory and Metal Sonic will be seeking revenge on Eggman and Sonic.
I'm just imagining a scenario that might happen towards the end of this story where Sonic is just in a mental downward spiral because he just doesn't know who to trust anymore and starts questioning why he's still here?
