Roman has explained this in another video. Contrary to videos like this where they don't wear masks, Covid is still hampering the logistics of the trip. ;)
Nice looking rack, looks like it would work with tonneaus like the access literider that sit inside the bed rails (add a bit if weatherstripping between the rack supports). Just wish it was a bit more affordable- seems like anything with “overlanding” is immediately twice the price it should be.
W W I cant imagine these things cost more than 200 or so to produce, especially considering it’s a universal bolt together adjustable design. For that price it should be an entire welded single piece, maybe aluminum. I have Gladiator and have been considering a bed rack and roof top tent. When you add in a fridge and everything else you also need a small $15-20k camper starts to look like a good value!
@@adamharriger5193 I can't speak to this brand, but its price is in line with RCI's rack, which is very similar. RCI's are made in Ft Collins, CO. There is no way it costs RCI only $200 to make one of these. A Lietner rack makes these look very affordable. But on you camper comment, I think you're rather spot on. I've got a Raptor with the Max Modular rack, some MaxTrax, an iKamper X-Cover, Decked system, etc., etc. and I've thought about buying a camper a few times. The challenge for me is storing the camper when it's not in use. My garage isn't big enough and storage isn't exactly cheap. Also many campers can't access the dispersed camping I tend to visit in the mountains. That's just me though. I can totally understand someone spending the money on a full on camper instead.
I love the way that looks, but my wife would never go for it. She just wants it lifted with rock rails and 35s. I'd kill for some Jerry cans, offroader bed bar, roof lights, bull bar, etc.
These guys are right down the road from me. I would have taken my business there if I had known they had their own rack system. Instead I ended up with a Max Modular from KB Voodoo on my Raptor. Very happy with it but I think I would have preferred those Molle panels on the sides.
Awesome! I’m just starting out and have a question. How to you protect your gear from theft? I don’t have my rig yet but my plan is to have it set up for some basic over landing (just weekend trips). It will also serve as my daily driver. I’m already concerned about theft of gear inside and outside the rig. Any advice for set up??
I can speak on racks systems like Yakima/Thule which uses security screws for their larger (More pricey) rack systems. Along with a few bike chains (more rope looking these days), it should help deter most wannabe picker uppers. It still goes back to how motivated the thief is and how prepared you are versus them.
The honest truth, get a 4runner or unlimited, keep most everything but the roof tent inside the truck. Bins an storage units are your friend, all this weight is your enemy.
Safely store your gear in the DECKED Drawer System. With a locking tailgate and added Locks available it's a great solution to hide you valuables and keep everything organized.
@@C10sRule He did. Specifically mentioned a Ram. lol. I wonder if people are aware, they can watch the video more than once? lol. Or maybe they just don't have the skills to pay attention.

"Overlanding 101: Here's how to start to make your truck into a home away from home" (Goes on to talk about a single accessory, by one company, for one truck)
I never understood why one would want to mount a tent that high up. I don't need so much room in the bed cause I don't bring my living room couch overlanding!
Often people like to be up away from the ground crawlers/mud/rocks and yes, have room to carry misc. other gear underneath. To set up a tent on the ground takes time for prep work and time for actual set up work. With these pop up tents, less than 5 minutes and it is ready to be slept in. That is my view point. I personally like the idea of sleeping in my SUV, which only requires a slight re-positioning of cargo I am carrying. Takes care of all those other issues with no more money needed than the vehicle purchase itself. ;). However, it has 1 slight disadvantage for most, no room for a partner.
I'm sure because of that design it's quite stable, but listening to the guy talk about it being more sturdy than those lightweight materials used by other companies really makes me wonder what the hell are the other companies making their systems out of? That is some thin material.
This is a no mask needed series. :P. I used to have "bras" and bug deflectors, etc. for vehicles, but the issue is, things do not fade equally over time. Then when you remove the obstacle that is in the way of cleaning, you have such an uneven look to your paint, your option is to just cover it back up to hide the flaw. IMO, best to just let it all fade equally.
I don’t get it either.... realistically you need an rv or custom van but maybe a big suv can do.... get an old Lexus lx or 4Runner for cheaper you can live in that for sure...
The verdict is in. The steel spare tire rim wheel choice is a fail! They are just flat out hideous! Even taking time to get use to them does not help. They continue to look cheap, chincy and flat out ugly! They make your 50k Jeep look like a $2500 25 rear old clapped out rusty old disrespected abused beater with zero class and taste. The rack does look ok. But the whole setup makes the Jeep look top and butt heavy. It’s designed to add and carry weight up very high. Never a good idea in my book. But that’s the “overlanding” style. Carry every thing big and heavy you have at the very top of your rig. To each, his own.
