I think you guys found the right ladies. They are doing a great job. They genuinely enjoy working this job and they are professional. Plus, they are throwing in some fun!
Jen & Mary are great additions to TFL. TFL seems to do a skillful job of hiring quality people within, as well as, associating with many other fun contributor's. Nobody else does this that I am aware of. Love to see something like TFLGetAway or TFLShortTrip - where you take short excursions with all types of vehicles. Like camping with a Fiat 500. Or take a Ford Model A/T camping. Or take a work truck to a Habitat for Humanity work site(s). If the truck has power plug-ins, hook-up power tools. Take the VW bus with surf boards mounted on top to surfing lessons. Take the Mustang to a performance driving school. Take your coming Maverick to pan for gold. Maybe include more scenery and windshield oriented views. Cover mounting racks (both roof-top and hitch mounted) for kayaks, canoes, bikes, e-bikes and etc. Maybe team up with Trail Recon, or Catherine Gregory, or similar people for an outing. And on and on and on. Look forward to your creations.
I have 2023 F-450 and a beater 2009 Odyssey that I bought for $4,000 cash off facebook marketplace and it is by far the best vehicle I’ve ever had. We’ve driven it cross country 3 times. Load up the dogs and kids and don’t care what they spill or puke up. My 10 year old son even drives it around our back pasture. I’ll never not own a beater minivan. I’ll also never own a fancy expensive one either.
As a dad of 4 kids who has driven a minivan for 10 years now. I can tell you the ID Buzz falls short in 2 key areas for a large family. #1. Lack of deep trunk/cargo space. I need to be able to keep the 3rd row up at all times, yet, be able to shop at Costco or any other "superstore" and securely store everything I bought in the trunk without disturbing the 3rd row. #2 -I need a minivan for 8 passenger. I need to have 2 car seats/boosters in the 3rd row and 2 car seats/boosters in 2nd row that also allows an adult to sit in comfort. 7 passengers won't allow this, but a 8 passenger will. As a larger family hauler, Kia wins and VW loses.
So glad Mary learned how to drive!!! I thought she was forever relegated to being a passenger/ videographer. LOL. You two are adding fun ideas/perspectives, keeping it real, and are both a blast to watch. Please keep it up!
It’s December 30, I am seven minutes in and because in the beginning I decided to drink every time someone said COOL I can’t drive TO the party tomorrow night! 😁
In the ER. 🤔 While recuperating they let me watch videos on my phone. 😍 Counted the first 12 minutes and you LITERALLY SAID COOL a cool 30 times. Not a surprise I ended up here. 🤕
Ok so I ended up watching the full video. It’s actually a pretty good review. For $70k that minivan better have a supercharged V8. And going forward I have to be careful with my aspirational drinking goals when these two are doing a review together. 😃
To make the vehicle great for the pup remove at least one of the second row seats...preferably two. Then have more cushioning on the floor (like a sleeping bag) and pillows around vertical surfaces. I saw the Bishops castle video. That was a great one to watch for anyone who wants a ID Buzz. The range anxiety and issues charging it make it unacceptable for cross country trips. Even one as short as in that video. I challenge Jen and Mary to a real test. You get the ID Buzz and I am provided an acceptable gasoline vehicle. We can make a multi-day trip to southern Utah to see many great natural sights. We will document which vehicle works best for a cross country. It is hardly cool to worry about running out of battery charge.
Ladies you nailed it. Almost make me want to go out and get a van. lol The cool factor is .. well practical. I like you 2 as a team. You rock the reviews with views that surpass performance and mpg's. Keep it coming and Happy New Year!
I didn't like mini vans for a long time, then Avis game a Hybrid Pacifica, after some confuse circumstances... and I can't believe how much I loved that thing
VW really missed the boat on this. The most essential things the VW ID Buzz needed to be was retro cool and a credible family hauler; which means having at least a respectable level of road trip capability. They had two paths to achieving that: either give it a large enough battery to hit around 300 miles of range or making it a charging monster like the Taycan. They opted for neither, thus relegating what should be the best in class EV family hauler to a niche curio for six figure income families that can afford a six passenger city car.
The heating/audio switchover controls would be annoying to me as well. Maybe you’d get used to it, but it Wouk be nice if you had a setting for both at the same time so you could easily change the temperature and volume.
The only one plug in vehicle, minivan is Chrysler Pacifica eHybrid PHEV. The fuel efficiency is 32 mpg. I bring it here since VW Buzz is a plug-in BEV which can be used as cool minivan. Kia is competing with Honda minivan both yielding 21 mpg. I would rather think that Toyota Sienna being HEV would be cross shopped with Pacifica and Buzz instead yielding 36 mpg.
After buying a Pacifica I will never buy a new SUV because the minivan is awesome in that it goes from people mover to stuff hauler very quickly and there not small so there is way more room.
So funny😂😂 you girls rock 🎉🎉 especially loved the shades. Mary really makes the review come alive with the trunk dive and her demo of the infotainment. Your face said it all 😂😂. That steering wheel on the buzz sure looked gorgeous. The interior seemed much more spacious with the lighter colors but I'd be tempted by those recliners I must say. Thanks for a great review.🎉
Minivans - the pickup trucks of non-tradespeople. So practical, comfortable, and indispensable for families of 4+. We wore out two Honda Odysseys (250k miles + ea) growing our 4 kids. If Honda could have only make a good transmission/cylinder deactivation combo one would still be in our fleet. KIA is hard to beat for features and good styling these days. VW is still living off styling with no substance (EV engineering i.e. range/efficiency)- big miss V Dub!
The Carnival to me just looks like a Squatted SUV so I’m not personally a fan and for the price of either of them I would just get a full size SUV. If you have a big family or need to haul people around all the time I would personally get the Tahoe or Yukon, and make it the diesel option just so I would have 700+ miles of range. I do love the way the Buzz looks but that range is absolutely horrendous and a van is supposed to be a road trip capable vehicle and it is absolutely not capable of providing an enjoyable road trip experience in any way shape or form👌
Ladies you're doing a great job. I love all of the TFL team but Mary and Jen have a different style to your video's in a good way. Again I love the whole team but nice to see video's changed up a bit. Keep up the great work.

$70k +, plus $5-25k dealer mark-up, 215 real world miles of range (yeah VW says 235, but reality is its 215 miles!!) and VW's notoriously horrific software. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! Anyone who buys one of these is NUTS! Totally NOT worth it!

They haven't been perfect, but they're usually a solid choice, even if not fully up to date. You pay for reliability, not gimmicks.

The VW starts at near $78K CAD (yes, starts at) ... I'd rather grab a fully loaded Pacifica for less and better range and looks far better than that VW. It looks a little too 'cartoonish', and the range comparisons between them isn't even close (~1,000km on gas and say ~1,100 or so in the hybrid) vs. ~400km on a charge in the VW. The KIA is a better deal (starting at $43K CAD and topping out at $56K), but I've never really got behind KIA... although this thing looks fairly decent - especially on the inside - for a KIA. Has a solid engine in the 3.6L, better payload and towing capacities, and the interior looks great with everything integrated and not looking 'stuck there' like VW 'gauge cluster' and infotainment screens (same issue with the KIA, although not as cheap looking. Also, a fully loaded Pinnacle trim level is about the starting price of the VW. You can get this in an EVT Hybrid, but I prefer AWD up in Canada. I think the KIA topped out in the high $50K range, however it seems like the least 'minivanish' of the bunch. It seems more like a crossover with sliding doors... it looks a lot smaller inside.
I still prefer the Red F-355 spider 6 speed in my garage... But you do you. LOL. I actually do think that minivans are cool, just not F-355 cool, and admit that I once had a minivan handmedown 20 years ago.

My wife has a 2020 Sienna AWD and I’m jealous she gets to drive it everyday. It’s so comfortable and easy to drive. I love it!
Unless you tow heavy or haul messy/smelly loads or you are a boy racer, Minivans are awesome for everyday usage.
You are very entertaining together, great video ladies!👍 I do like the design of the Buzz.
