Extreme spread and group size on 2 rounds, does it prove anything ??? It would be way more interesting to se on 5 shots at least, or average on many 5 shots strings
Very nice! I habe an AMP Mark II since autumn of last year. Great machine! What exactly is ge applying into the casemouth before seating the bullet. I am already doing all other steps and would be interessted to add this one to precent my bullets from bonding to the case.
Mr Murdica. Do you use Norma brass anymore? If not why. I seen the question on brass and the reply was Peterson and Vihtavuori! Do you use Vihtavuori exclusively? Why Peterson brass and not Lapua? Why Vihtavuori and not Hodgdon?
It settles a lot of things. Guys are out here debating on neck turning, neck sizing only, primer pocket cleaning, trimming, chamfering, deburring, sorting primers by weight and so many other things. All you need is consistent powder drops and to anneal. Done.
I had another question. I noticed he didn't clean the brass nor the primer pocket. Is that what the Moly was used for? Just never seen someone not clean their brass before reloading it.
You can reload many times without cleaning the inside of the brass case. It is used in benchrest shooting so it works. For the primer pocket that's the first time I see it
Lou wipes down the case right after annealing with a rag. Does that rag have anything on it to quench or coat/lube? Just seems like he can grab the case right away and I know its too hot for my delicate office hands lol
Its just damp with water. Quenching brass does not change its hardness at all after annealing and this is just to speed up the process for the videos sake. Normally we just let them air cool which prevents needing to dry off the cases.
Hello. That was VERY quiet. A.) What kind of sound suppressor are you using? B.) What sort of backstop / bullet catcher are you shooting into? Looks like you are in a basement of a house.
You know this guy is the greatest ballistic accuracy reloader shooter testor in the world .holy six figure reloading testing man cave in the world batman😂
What does this really prove though? I've gotten similiar results with a factory savage and a good load with 4x fired brass, annealed only initially before the first firing. Alas my 5 round ES was 3 fps though and when I tried to repeat it my SD was 3 and ES was something like 10. I'd love to see a video for 5 rounds. Maybe sped up if need be. I think that would stand as a better test of real capabilities of an AMP machine. Side by side tests of non annealed brass are always welcome too.
@@annealingmadeperfect1257 I didn't find that system. Maybe Oehler's 88? but not sure it measures group size. I tried their website but it's limited. I'll give them a call. thank u
case cleaning was never needed. all the biggest benchrest shooters agreed it's just for looks. They could never find an increase in accuracy after cleaning. some even swore it shot better from not cleaning because the carbon inside the neck helped fight of bimetallic corrosion and the bond that ensued.
@@tobiastorsi The bullet seating die was LE Wilson and as explained above, the sizing die was a Redding full length die using the bushing with no expander
Annealing the case each and every time between firing it and loading it, he is stupid. But maybe I'm wrong. Did you ever consider that letting the gun cool off quite a bit longer between shots might Aid the accuracy??? What do I know the best group I've ever shot is .049 in with 20 rounds
Well i feel stupid for running my brass through an ultrasonic every time! That is an ideal setup for sure. Well done.
Absolutely outstanding! I simply have to own one of these machines! If only I could buy it here in Denmark, or maybe in Sweden. I wish.....

Great video. Love the bench and equipment ... is the brush he uses for molying the neck a metal, nylon or something else. Thanks
I’d like to know as well.
It is just cloth mop type brush that is raggedy from so much use.
Good stuff this is where the rubber meets the road!
How much is the rent for this furnished apartment?
😲WOW , WHAT A SET UP
What was the Bullet Weight and N number of the VV powder. Was it N550 or N150 or something else?
Haha. Nice set up

BTW what did he use inside the neck?

Hi Michael, This the the procedure Lou has used for many shots in this experiment. There is more to follow, this is more of a teaser.

I'm curious to know what Vihtavuori powder he is using here, I've picked up some N150 to run some development with.
Was he using a Bushing FL Sizing die? How much Bullet Grip did he try to get? 0.002“?
Hi, Why do you put moly inside the neck of the cartridge?
Best regards
Annealing the neck and applying the Moly greatly assists in consistent bullet seating.
