It's amazing how the wolves don't mind the bears AT ALL, instinctively knowing that they can easily out-maneuver & out-run the bears, despite that any bear could tear them to pieces.
What a great collection of images in motion. There is something awe inspiring about these great animals. They are so powerful and regal in appearance. As apex predators, Africa has its lions and Asia has its tigers, but we here in North America have our Grizzlies and, to my mind anyway, they are at least as impressive as the other two.
The bear description above is incorrect, these bears are not Grizzlies, they are coastal Brown Bears. Grizzlies live in the interior of Alaska and Canada. Great Video, one of the highest quality on You Tube ,lot of competition for salmon and many fights and stealing from thy neighbor.
I can't believe that small wolf 4:20 is actually trying to attack the larger bear cub when it's back is turned & while it's with it's mother. Ain't no planet that will end in it's favour.
Даже не досмотрела, увидела медведицу с тремя медвежатами и стало больно за неё, это какой материнский труд выкормить их и самой не умереть с голода, вечная борьба за выживание, грустно...
There really aren't many circumstances where simply viewing a bear would make it uncomfortable. If you get too close, or disturb the bear physically, that's different. But viewing them rarely seems to even register as something they even notice.
Just another day here in Alaska! I am a bear viewing/salmon fishing guide here on Kodiak island, we also fly over to Katmai by floatplane, no place on earth compares to Alaska, simple!

Let me just add to my prior post the fact that while lions and tigers are apex predators, there are still many other creatures that can kill them. Giant herbivores like elephants, rhinos, Cape Buffalo and even giraffes present a potentially lethal threat to lions. Tigers also encounter elephants and rhinos. And both can be killed by large crocodiles. But a Grizzly fears nothing in nature, as there is no other animal in their world presenting a threat to them. They are true wilderness monarchs.

Need to tag that bear @12:39 to see how much bigger he can get....I know polar bears are the largest in the world but that brown bear would give any polar bear a run for it's money
9:26 Probably 1000 pounds. Massive muscles. Front legs are like twice a mans thie. 11:50 That one might be dangerous as its thin and might do desperate things.
the bear vs other animals is in general in "peace",he lives quiet, and seems to not fear any other animal.this is why the bear has a great meaning for ancient shamanic religions,it's the power, the peaceful and healthy life, they say also that the bear is "shaman" itself and hides the secret of traditional médecines.
Brad, do you sell prints of your still pictures? I love the picture of the bear in the water with the feeding Eagle in the tree just above the bear. Would enjoy a trip like this but would probably poop my pants when a bear started staring too long at me, wondering if my butt was tough for the eating.
Love your comment, people intrude into wild animals habitat and when they are killed or injured others sympathize. This is stupid, going very close to wild animals.
I took on a whole new prospective on Brown Bear after learning that if you are a meal, the bear doesn't even have the decency to kill you before eating you. & Despite being upwards of 1200 pounds the Brown Bear moves like a Damn Cheetah.. A Kodiak is the epitome of an Apex Predator to be observed at a long distance away..Preferably a mile away using one of those News Chopper Cameras lol
I guess that wolves are around the bears, and looking for something to eat. Wolves don't look like fierce animal in front of bears, and also not look quick moving animal.

Question: If you see that the bears are uncomfortable with your presence, do you move to another area or possibly even cut short the viewing?
There really aren't many circumstances where simply viewing a bear would make it uncomfortable. If you get too close, or disturb the bear physically, that's different. But viewing them rarely seems to even register as something they even notice.
They approached us, they ignored us. We just needed to make sure to stay out of the way
But yes, I certainly go above and beyond to make sure the bears aren’t disturbed by our presence. Good question
