I got an impression that it’s an okay sneaker, it can work.
However a year ago I bought a GOOD quality sneaker from ECCO… for ~300$ (maybe it’s just their pricing policy in Georgia 🇬🇪).
They have some rubber-like thick soles, with actual layer of rubber on the bottom for increased durability (learned that from your channel).
Whole upper is made of white leather so thick that I even with my very poor sight see it when I look down. The insole is double-layered: top is leather, bottom is thick and ergonomically (?) shaped foam.
HOWEVER underneath the insole there was a material and all-around seams just like in this Nike sneaker in the video… i guess it’s not that bad, considering the sole is really thick?
I was pleased with myself when I bought them after binge watching your channel 😅
The best things about this Ecco pair: i recently was at the sports equipment store and tried on some of new & fancy “ergonomic” shoes by Adidas. One pair with a very rigid plastic sole was good enough… until I put my shoes back on. And don’t they feel like a cloud!!! I was wondering if that bit of foam on the insole was the end of comforting parts of my sneakers… but seems like it isn’t!

Bottom line for my previous comment: I enjoy all of the videos on your channel!
However, as a woman, I have practical interest in the smaller part of your content, like sneaker reviews. It had already proven very educative for me, so I wish you continued digging into sneakers alongside your boots content!
Thanks for what you do! 🌟

Okay, I’m a big sneaker collector, and absolutely love these. Super simple, super comfortable, and super cheap. My local Nike outlet has a bunch for around $40. Where you were talking about the fabric wearing out in the heel, I’ve had my pair for about 3 years. It’s not worn out, and I wear them more than any of my Jordan’s or Dunks. Personally I think these are a great, cheap, daily shoe, that looks even better beat up a little.

I feel that court visions are a far better value for money sneaker with the same quality leather u get on the air forces and decent construction . Thats my take and its a slept on sneaker from nike due to thw over hyped air force 1's which is basically the same sneaker as the air force 1 without the air pocket and half an inch shorter than the air forces. But if u love the killshot, you do you. If u enjoy it, rock it.

I have 2 pairs, the white leather blue logo and nylon mesh red logo, from J Crew back in ~2018-2020. Had to go to their store at South Coast Plaza since their inventory was so low.
I LOVE the look of the leather/blue ones, but I did notice the cheap materials really quickly. I think it's the plastic layering on the leather, but they would make my feet sweat after an hour's wear. They eventually became a gym shoe, which worked nicely because of their really low profile (I now use Feiyue as a general gym shoe).
The nylon/red do not look as great IMO, but they breathe so much better. Much better as a summer shoe.
As for their construction, neither pair has fallen apart. They just now sit at the back of my closet.

I really like look of these shoes, but feeling every rock under my foot was super annoying and they are pretty terrible to stand around in for long periods of time. I got mine in March of 2022 and in less than 4 months, the foxing tape was showing signs of separation from the sole and I got a bunch of dirt and even a couple pebbles wedged in there, so I barely wear them out any more which is a huge bummer.
You nailed most of my issues with these shoes in the last 3 minutes. I would love these if they were constructed with a little bit more care or durability in mind, but that’s not how Nike (or fast fashion in general) works.

Have to say I love my Killshots. I had the same thoughts initially - they seemed really cheap and poorly made. I figured they would die a quick death but time has proven otherwise. I got these back in 2017, paid slightly over MSRP on resale, and they've held up better than most sneakers I've owned. They have a nice patina and the leather actually looks great. Plus they're so flat and flexy they function pretty much like a barefoot shoe, but without looking ridiculous. I would love to someday replace them with the GPS in the similar colorway but not at the prices those are selling for. I'll probably just get another pair of Killshots in sail.

I bought them for a smidge under retail from the J Crew that was in DUMBO (for those familiar) because I was a regular and am a teacher. I love them. They are exclusively summer sneakers because winter wear just doesn't make sense for such a shoe. In the five years the only sign of wear/tear has been in the crease of the toe but no one notices unless I point it out. What I have noticed is that mine are a bit heavier than the one I see in Nike currently and wonder if this pair is post J. Crew or the current Nike's

For me, i bought this pair for about $30 at a nike outlet store. Only downside for me was how it was digging into my heel in one shoe and it made wearing it long term quite uncomfortable. That said, I'm not going to complain too much about a cheap pair of shoes that looks fairly cool. I hope I can try out the GPS sometimes though.

Hey Rose Anvil, question about Shore A in outsoles:
In your experience does outsoles between Shore A 60-70 are good for walking on wet surfaces? Does higher Shore A equals more durability but less gripness?

  • @tru2myrealigion
    @tru2myrealigion ปีที่แล้ว

For skateboarding vulcanized is grippier and more flexible. I think that’s what gives it better boardfeel.

Who buys a pair of Nike shoes wears them two or three times then discards them or abandons them in a closet? I’ve never heard of such wastefulness.

I never understood the J Crew hype with these and feel exactly the same about vulcanized soles-- they always separate and don't flex as well as a cup sole. The Killshot 1 is a nice, cheap alternative with nylon mesh upper instead of the leather, a cup sole that won't pull away and the close-to-the-ground feel remains via a dimple pattern on the outsole that Nike would use again on the Challenge Courts [another shoe made popular by a J Crew collab] and the holy grail Mac Attacks which are rumored to be re-releasing this year. They are super light and easy to wear. Grab a pair of mark-down KS1s for $50 and beat them into the ground like you did when you were 12.

Nike should do like Timberland: have two lines of the same shoe- an affordable entry line that gets you the look for the least amount of money, and a somewhat pricier line where they don't cut the corners and use better materials in a few key areas.

For future videos maybe it would be worth looking into metatarsal guard boots, I know a lot of fabrication plants require them now and the selection is slowly growing every year. As far as the nikes go, 60-70 sounds reasonable considering it looks like it would be a vans competitor. Anything more than 70 i would not pay though. Great video as always.

Vulcanized shoes are also terrible for the environment. Companies like Vans and Converse, famous for their vulc shoes, had to switch to overseas production due to EPA standards in the U.S. The only real benefit of vulc shoes while skateboarding is the feeling of the outsole (boardfeel, flick, rubber, etc.) compared to cupsoles, and this is all preference! Cupsoles are built to last longer with less fail points.
