Yeah, but also David Haytor (I had put Snake originally before realising) had to re-audition for Snake in every game from MGS3 onwards. Kojima wanted to have Kurt Russell do Naked Snake for MGS3. *The main antagonist of the peice is someone who directly matches or surpasses you in skill/competence (and physically in the case of liquid) who you end up beating anyway due to a fluke (Liquid you beat because of Foxdie/Boss you beat because she lets you)

*The secondary antagonist is a sadist who at some point tortures you (Ocelot/Volgin)
*You have help from a sympathetic insider (Hal&Meryl/EVA)
*Trick fight against someone with psychic powers (Mantis/Sorrow)
*Fight against a sniper who has an affinity with animals who also wants to die (Wolf/End)
*Bossfight against a character you cant fight head on so need to hide from using a convenient arena (Raven/Fury)
*Character who designs the metal gear does so against thier will and eventually this crisis of conscience causes them to betray thier original masters (Hal/Sokolov)
*The motivation for the "powers" behind the events is control of a McGuffin (Big Boss's corpse/Philosopher's legacy)
*The protagonist in each game is fighting for control of a parental figure (Big Boss/Boss)
*Each mission is also set up by the "powers that be" in order to test the protagonist (MGS it is a test to see if the clone with the recessive genes, Solid Snake, can beat the clone with the dominant genes, Liquid/MGS3 it is a test to see if Fox should be formed officially.)
*There is a triple agent (Naomi/EVA) (and as another odd coincidence, both physically cripple the protagonist, Naomi with FoxDie and EVA by setting off Ocelot which requires Snake getting his eye shot out, though this is more a wierd coincidence and not purely a rehash).

GREAT video, haven't seen anything pike this yet. Brilliant idea, Im so curious in games, I always look for outer map details before continuing. There's many games where my imagination wanders, this topic could be the key to what was once only an idea.
This still makes me sad that Konami did what they did.
I know Hayter just loves to do his role as snake and even volunteer for some fan projects but I never expected him to do a intro for BoundaryBreak.Just awesome
Even now being stripped down of all its secrets... Its as amazing as ever.
You certainly deserve more subscriptions I'll spread that love for you.
Excellent work
You actually got David Hayter.
Even if somehow the rest of the video is downhill (which I seriously doubt, given your dedication to detail), I'm still impressed.
Thanks for doing this video, one of my fav video games ever, and of course David Hayter's voice! "you're pretty good"
Thanks for doing this video, although it was somewhat a little short. I love the Metal Gear saga. Nice of Hayter to do a cameo!
That zoomout shot of shadow moses and that music gave me chills, great video
Hearing Hayter doing the Solid Snake voice again after all of these years.. * nostalgic tears of joy * MGS1 was a masterpiece, not only as a videogame but as a piece of videogame technology. What Hideo and his team pulled off on the PS1 was nothing short of a masterwork of programming.
So you exported the video in 4:3, when most channels about retro gaming export with black bars, or even stretch... You are just awesome. This keeps getting better all the time.
Geez man - first David Hayter and then the zooming from the Shadow Moses Base with "The best ist yet to come" in the background? Dude, i need my tears for some other day!
