i recall using platinum without any restrictions, nordic european edition tho i think it was just the same as the uk one if there even is a difference between any of the western copies thats also in english (dont remember if u could change language on these, might just be 1 copy for them all)

I would die before the first gym. You have your starter, bidoof, starly, shinx, kriketot, budew, magicarp, zubat, geodude, machop, the abra you get in trade, onix and I believe meditite. All of which need to be leveled up. The longest probably being machop to machoke or meditite to medicham.(yes, you get the old rod before the first gym. And if you thought that was tough, you need to find and evolve all possible pokemon found on trees, from the rare munchlax and aipom to the female combee and the Male and female burmy. That in itself will take an Eterna-ty.

Got three levels, at least- Pokemon contest, Elite Four, and Underground base. I was pretty bad at the Frontier, with only some silvers, and I was nine Pokemon away from completing the National Dex before I lost my card. Treecko line, Chikorita line, Regice and two others I've since forgotten.
Hey I just wanted to clarify something in this video: In order to complete the national pokedex, you need BOTH Diamond AND Pearl regardless of if you are trading over pokemon from gen 3 as the stunky and glameow line are exclusive to those games and platinum has neither so in order to complete the dex you need both games as you would be 4 short with neither and 2 short with only one.

I'm impressed you did this in 60 hours. I was well over 999:99 when I completed this but I also hard grinded battle tower without knowing what evs were, did the master ranks for fun and loved the pick a partner 2v2s in battle tower. Had a ton of fun in diamond as a kid. I'll never understand why people like pearl more than diamond though.
I remember doing this when the games were new(ish) with 3 friends, we met up for a week and basically only grinded pokemon stars for way too many hours, summer break in school was fun :D nice memories
I got my 5-star trainer card on Platinum last year, and I also got all the golden prints of the Battle Frontier. There's almost 200 hours on my save file, it was worth every minute.

Platinum could still only transfer six a day to Pal Park. They didn't remove that restriction until HGSS.
