Gold can never be devalued because it is a commodity and a medium of exhange. It has extreme rarity and nearly universal objective value. It is not currency but can be used as one. Since only wealthy people, central banks and governments have true access to substantial amounts of pure gold and bullion, it will never decrease in value below a certain threshold and will essentially keep pace with inflation over time. Tell your husband it is one of the more safe bets with regard to investing, especially saving, if you are rich like you guys. However jewelry, even 24k gold, will return less than bank and foundry issued bullion so that banks can have the edge with regard to dollar value.

With 23 and 24 karat gold: just make sure that it is solid and not hollow. If it is more than like 2.3mm You can wear it every day and it is not easy to snatch either.

In Thailand, you could probably get this chain made for an estimated $50-$100 USD for labor and overhead, maybe up to $200 USD at most IMO since that chain is a real massive 21 baht. Usually 5% - 10% above spot in SEA countries, maybe even less for locals, like it was 2% - 4% I wouldn’t be surprised In the US they gonna charge US labor and overhead, usually like $200-$300 per baht from what I see and taxes if taxed, the lowest I ever seen was like around $100 per baht just once Anybody selling an extra above spot $300 - $500+ per baht for 23/24k gold is taxing, and Americans who ain’t know no better will buy it, cuz Americans got money and ain’t gonna trip

I have a 320g anchor chain in 24k. I paid $10 per gram making cost. In the US go to NYC or LA china town gold shops and just bargain the making cost. They'll Xray it for you to show 99.99% purity. Better than money in the bank....
