I find 14k jewelry actually more brittle because it’s harder so it breaks and snaps more easily. Pure gold is softer but not that soft, you have to heat and beat it with a hammer.
I’m a jeweler and I alloy to 20k for rings that get scratched and bent more easily. Alloyed properly, 20k is near same color but can be buffed with compound. You can’t buff 24k and 22k is a stretch, because it will grind in and discolor the gold. You have to burnish 22 to 24k so more time consuming. I wear 24k around my neck and wrist.
That's nice. I gotta get a ring custom made. I think I would go with 20k rather than 24. I'm afraid it would just get deformed when worn on my hand. Wrist and neck should be ok with 24k jewelry.
Most American gold is 14k or 18k. 10k is usually more towards “urban” products such as over-sized Cuban chains or diamond-studded pendants. Indian jewelers will often carry 22k as well as 24k jewelry. The 22k is visibly more yellow than 18k, and both the red and the yellow are strong enough for most uses (although 18k red gold looks better in my opinion). Chinese jewelers make all kinds of items in 24k, but it is soft and expensive. In addition, it seems like white gold is an American/European thing. I lived in China, and I never saw it. I have been working with Indian jewelers, and they similarly do not deal with white. White gold only comes in 20k or lower, with most 18k or 14k. Of all the types, only white gold looks good in 10k.
As a American, It's extremely hard trying to find 18k gold in America from my experience. Go to any place that sells jewelry here. And most of it is 10-14k like he said. And cost like anywhere from $30-$100.Be very thin, then Complain about how fragile silver is. We aren't serious with our jewelry. It's just all for show.
Yes is too soft the reason why it’s alloyed, but it depends on how you take care of your gold pieces. I have 21k, 22k and 24K ring, bracelet and necklace. It’s popular around Asia I got mine in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Thailand. Been wearing it for 6 years now and still in good condition. N

In our country, we wear only 24k 😅😅😅southasia all wear only 24k chain or anything
What country is it? In America they usually sell 10k, 14k and sometimes 18k.
@@ThomasofAllTradesIdk where you’re going in America but I can get 18k, 22kt anytime I want from my jeweler in Newport Beach, CA. I was just looking at a 18k gold Byzantine in Ben Bridge just yesterday… not too sure what your talking about only selling 10k,14k
@@dominic8372 any karats are available in America but most jewelers sell 14k.
Thailand 23K ... 96.5%
that's nice. 18k and up have really nice yellow color.

@@VarapholN. something precious like 24k gold
I like 10k it's affordable
@@DBoss-f1v I own some 10k. It's not bad.
Where can I buy solid thick 24K chains
I said it in the video. Vietnamese jewelers.
That’s why 24k gold is only for kings and royals not broke peasants and jewelers! The Egyptians knew that!!
Such a prestigious piece of jewelry to have.
first
Nice. Ang Ang bilis ah! lol
Long story short.
There is no profit in sell pure gold cause your paying for what you get.
In gold alloys you’re paying more for less gold Period.
They still can add some mark up for the gold and they get discount from their suppliers but a lot of American jewelers sell 14k to 18k because they could sell less gold and get more money.
Yea, WAY too soft!!!
It's soft but still a nice jewelry. You just can't be rough with it.
pa shout out po
ok =]
shout out pls
Whoever is reading this I just want you guys o know that gold is NOT MADE BY NO DAMN EXPLODING STAR!😂 god made gold, sliver and bronze! It’s his currency! Don’t believe this man about some star blaming up 🤦🏾♂️
Gold coming from the explosion of a supernova is fact-based, scientific, empirical evidence. Facts which you certainly don't have for your god.
I mean...you're right. God did make everything, including stars that could explode and produce gold through a process called nuclear fusion.
Gold was formed by an exploding supernova star and it released trillions of gold pieces with silver, lead, and uranium in the outterspace before the planet was formed. Lead used to be gold, silver, and when uranium stops becoming radioactive is become lead. Gold and silver are perfect alloys together.
@@ryanvv9349 still reading fan fiction novels eh.... Let me educate: A fact, by our interpretation, is something proven/witnessed-- who the hell do you know has witnessed an exploding star reproduce gold? It takes an insignificant temperature, far less than the sun, to melt gold. Anything close to a quarter of the heat from the sun would completely evaporate the metal. You took someone's theory and decided to label it fact because it appeals to your ignorance. We can't even travel beyond the moon or there successively... Why would you accept a person's propaganda about an exploding star...? And if it was from an exploding star don't you think traces of it would been photographed on the surface moon and other planets? Gold is no more than the dirt of paradise. And all Perfect praise is for God Almighty.
Bro, I have that exact same Versace shirt.
Lol nice.
My girlfriend says she does not like gold, foolishness..
Lol
I used to like silver only. Until I sold A LOT of my old silver jewelry and the value was close to nothing.
But with gold, the value would pretty much stay the same or higher.
@@ThomasofAllTrades silver jewlery you get nothing is right. Gold coin bullion is the right way, but that 24k cuban is sweet sweet, i got a nice 22k chain and love it. Give it 20 more years and gold will be costly 24k is the way
@@doublejump6578 I completely agree.
It's not just for make it harder tho my point is I don't know anyone that can afford 24k gold not one person I make 60k a yr n have 3 kids 5i take care of so unfortunately I can't afford 18k 22k or 24k shit I hardly can afford to get a decent size chain in 14k they are thousands of dollars ether way even a decent size 10k solid chain for less than a thousand so why are you assuming everyone makes 500k a yr?
Dude are you ok. This is your second comment and it really isn't that deep.
@@desiree7633 right? When I read this I was going to say I got a pair of 22k studs for $110CAD and another pair of 42k earrings for 13,000INR (around$225CAD)
Why americans are so fucking scared of silver. If you like chains on neck or as a bracelet you can still have super fat ass chain for 1k$ max. Silver goes up 🔝 too. Gold and silver ale like a Bonnie and Clyde always together.
They have fake jewelry, gold look alikes.
NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD 22K 24K GOLD OR EVEN 18K SO ALL OTHERS LIIKE 10K 14K IS FAKE ? NOT EVERYONE HAS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND ON A CHAIN WTF MAN
Lol.
With the power of financing I could
You just gotta stop buying off jewelry stores cause they rip off people with 14k and 10 k and they don’t sell it close to actual price , 14 is. Like 34$ a gram but they sell like 200$ a gram . Buy in an auction like eBay or from Mene jewelry
@@Luisrrr508 I don't like the look of pure gold nobody in America does it looks like shit unless it's a coin pendant or pamp
@@GOODFELLA-uk6rz my mom own 4.5kg of gold in total. She gift me 24k earrings when i was a baby, it looks beautiful. Now I'm looking for my first 24k bracelet.
Yes, you can buy 24k gold with good financing. I save about 80% of my salary monthly.
