I like mine a lot. I found out how to access the service menu so now I can set my Dead Key and a few other things if I wanted but the power is my only concern at the moment. I think the program wire sold now uses the USB port on the back now. Great video. ✌✌

I used to have a CRE-8900 and the guy i had go over had the modulation set to 15 I think plus I i did the mic cover mod by enlarging the hole over the mic element to get clearer and better modulation. Also it had the cable and program to set up the bands and channels on a PC
Great info thanks I have the quad 5 in the orange display and I want to try and put the weather band on mine it says push menu then mode weather band supposed to come on but I can't get it to do it do I need to download firmware or is there another way to try that
I still went deeper into the menu to adjust it so it works on AM good with a amp. They will do it out of box but not very well as there is way too much average power. Ot works so much better now and has good swing. They are out of the box ready to work great with no amp.
Thanks for the video 👍 Q. - I've seen quite a few radios with Amber/Orange colors (example: QT-60), that look great (bright) when taking a photo of them, but when sitting in front of one, they're a tad dim. Any such difference with this one?
when you hit func+scan it set it to factory settings,how ever the stock mic is crap it dont really sound good,it should do 35watt ssb and fm 40,you should acces the secret menu to adjust the power to correct level,it might blow the finals in the radio when you do fm with that power lol
I gotta get me a Drake W4 i had a chance to grab one from a silent keys son for $80 bucks but like a dummy, i fucked that off, people want big money for those well over a $100 bills right now.

IDK, I have never heard this before.
It is the 555 quad in as in Nancy the one that has the orange display and the push buttons
