Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, you cannot turn off the light. You can turn off the data displayed but you cannot disable the backlight, which I understand is the source of the noise. So, no matter what, you cannot turn "off" the noise.
@@RadioWaysActual Mine is the AnyTone at5555 plus. I can only hear it if I turn the volume completely down. Once I turn up the volume just a small bit I can no longer hear it even if I place my ear to it. Perhaps though you can.
@@GbHill59 During the work day I sometimes will have the radio scanning at low volume. My workstation is about 6 feet from the radio table and, unfortunately, I can hear it. Thanks again for the input.
Yes mine do the same audible hight pitch noise coming from the screen, These radios have many defects, not just that one, you discover them little by little if you are a bit knowledgeable about the operation of radio equipment , the AGC circuit is also poorly developed among other various software defects and poor quality components, personally I would rather not spend more money on those devices from that Anytone manufacturer, who unfortunately apparently manufacture for all the currently existing brands of this type of CB/10 meter equipment, including President radios, which were previously of acceptable quality.
Many "CB" style radios have this issue to varying degrees. The president McKinley I have is particularly bad. it doesn't bother me on the Retevis, but I did notice it and forgot to mention it in the review video I did on that radio.
"SevenFortyOne ... SevenFortyOne ... why does that sound familiar?" Then I realized I watched your CB900 video this morning. Thanks for the comment and keep up the good work!
I hear it, would drive me nuts. Thanks
I only get this on a few select frequencies, but my QT60 Pro is fine (strange). Thanks for bringing it up.
My QT60 is fantastic, too, with no such issues. Thanks!
That is from the inverter for the light of the face plate. Turn off the light. All do that.

I just ordered this radio I'm sure I will be ok with it because I have a hard time hearing loud things...lol
Definitely one of my favorite radios
Mine does it but I really have to listen for it. Doesn’t bother me at all. I love mine.
Great input, thanks a lot. Yeah I really like the HS4 as well.
For me, it would be a keeper if not for that noise, but I'm probably in the minority.

I have the AT 5555 Plus but I have a constant ringing in my ears so I haven't noticed it. ✌✌

On the galaxy with the el display, I just moved the el board further away from the face plate, problem solved.
That's interesting. Do you know if that mod can be done on the HS4?
That is common on many radios with processors inside of them. So what is the problem? You want perfection?
what happens when you hook it up to a car battery, Car not running.?
have 2 k-po dx 5000 plus v7, no noise. galaxy 959b was a screamer till the backlight power wire got cut off. maybe k-po addressed the problem
Hey, what phone app is that?
Spectroid
@RadioWaysActual Cool thanks! I'm looking at it now👍
Would it be on tx also?
The noise comes from the screen so it is present all the time, whether during rx, tx, or no activity at all.
Don't hear mine doing it.
Nice, I wish I didn't hear mine.
Seems petty. It's a radio
Yes and a cheap one at that! 😅
