Even after 3 years these things happen. I recently was dumping our tanks while boondocking. we had to haul the sh-wagon to a dump station. when I (Garrett) went to get the hose to the dump the fitting came off and I got my shoes, socks and shorts drenched in poo water. It doesn't matter if it's your first time or you have been doing this for 7 years. Pay attention and follow the steps.

This is super useful for newbies. Most of my friends and family think the dumping an RV is a horrible process. I like your breakdown on pulling the black and grey values, I remember pulling it for the first and and thinking I was going to get sprayed in the face. Only think I would add that is very important is to be super slllooowww so that dirty water doesn't flick everywhere during setup and take down.

It is not a good time when the sewer hose come out of the opening. I am not saying I am speaking from experience but.... lol :) That Robin Williams movie is still my favorite RV movie, probably because of that one scene. lol I think I would add for any newbies reading these comments. Go ahead and get the extention sewer hose. It is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Well done! :)

Good call on the gloves. I (Natasha) have to give you guff for wearing flip flops while you empty. If you have anything come loose or leak, that could be a nasty mess to wade through. Scooby Doo Doo euphamism? LOL Sidewinder is great for most connections. Did have a park with Sewer hook up was in a raised bed that was higher than my outlet, had to do the lift and move it through motion quite a lot. I usually don't even hook up sewer, but just dump before we leave as just the 2 of us don't come close to filling the tanks. It is nice to have the dump right there so I can do it before we even move and no waiting. Our old RV doesn't have flush so BT almost always reads full, but I know and can tell by looking in toilet we're not. Is it strange I watch so many BT videos, knowledge is power. *Best thing I did was add valve at end of dump connection, because our BT is on opposite side the handle for valve goes all the way across and can be difficult to close completely, yes I did get an unpleasant surprise first time I took off cap. That end valve prevents that stuff that "leaks" into pipe after BT valve. No problems since. Best thing I learned on TH-cam add that valve.

@@McGuiresOnTires thank you! We went to an RV show and fell in love with the Mercedes. I’m not sure the model maybe Thor. But it was small enough to drive comfortably. And the interior was perfect. We will keep checking around. Right now it seems to be hard to find cool places to park as many are already booked. 😊

It is great for those spots that aren't perfectly designed (most of them). When the hose comes out of the rig, everything will need to flow downhill to get to the sewer. But it is not always designed that way. There will sometimes be some ups and downs along the way. Best to have the support to help with that when it inevitably comes along. Thanks for watching. Hope it was helpful information!

What I like to know is where is the location of that septic hook up on the RV with respect to the bathroom, kitchen etc? As a rule is it on the same side as the toilet/bathroom and if so how far from the toilet or shower or?
That is what I am curious about.
How far can the septic hook up in the ground has to be from the where the hook up is on the RV?

For someone that will get an RV in the future, your channel is very helpful . Once I semi retire I am going to buy an RV and travel across Canada and all 50 States. I have been bing watching all your 17 videos for 3 hours now ( if you check your Analytics you will see a 3 hours view increase) on the threadmill( thats my daily routine of walking at least 20KM) I love your vlogs with your family and especially how your kids are getting involved in the story telling. The editing is top notch. With the new TH-cam policies in place I try not to leave comments to often. I lost over 300 Sub who did hit the sub button first and then left a comment without watching a single video. For me to help other people I usually watch first most videos before I even hit the sub button. I leave a comment and then a day or two later I will sub. That way it will stick. And anyway I like your channel
