    Thanks so much for the uphill tips, thumbs up. However, I would never use my white (potable) supply hose connected to the sewer system, just too much opportunity for contamination. I also use a backflow preventer when connecting my dedicated grey/black garden hose to a potable supply line.

    • @WaywardWaggs

      It is a white hose but it is not the one we use for our fresh water. It is marked with black tape at the ends so we don't confuse them.

    Hi there, great video. quick question. I have installed permanent connection to my RV to my sewer line beside the house that leads to the city line. I have installed sewer pump to pump it better, my question is, should keep the black and gray valve ON all the time, if not why not? thanks

    • @WaywardWaggs
      @WaywardWaggs  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know much about sewer pumps but you should keep your black tank valve closed and dump periodically. If you leave it open all the time, all of the liquid will run out and solids will stay and build up in the tank.

  • @jameslowery4550
    @jameslowery4550 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You should do that dumping process multiple times.

  • @rickvanheel8865
    @rickvanheel8865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question. When your septic inlet is higher than your drain, what is the trick for just normal use? I have to go out 3 or 4 times a day to clear the line.

    • @WaywardWaggs
      @WaywardWaggs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When we have an uphill inlet, we keep our gray tanks closed. When they are close to full, we open them and the force of the water pushes it uphill. When you get done, your drain hose will be full of water but your tanks will be empty. If you leave your gray valve open, normal use will not have enough pressure to push the water uphill and out. Hope this helps.

  • @legacy5630
    @legacy5630 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What concerns me with this method is that I don’t see a back flow bib on the fresh water hose connection which will prevent sewer waste from back flowing into the potable water system. So essentially it’s connecting a potable ( drinking water) line to a sewer line😳😳😳

    • @WaywardWaggs
      @WaywardWaggs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a backflow preventor inside the device itself so water can't flow back into the hose.

  • @dennisg.7498
    @dennisg.7498 ปีที่แล้ว

    1) You are supposed to use an orange water hose when connecting to any sewer pipe to flush it. 2) You cannot use hose splitter / y valves on the water spigot in an RV park. Even with an anti siphon valve on the park spigot, water still can feed back into the water system from the hose you have hooked up to the flush fitting you are using. Every campground I have stayed at has signs prohibiting splitter valves on their water faucets and a water sheriff going around removing them.

    • @WaywardWaggs
      @WaywardWaggs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have the hose we use to flush the black tank marked so it only gets used for that. We have been full time for almost 4 years and have never been told we had to remove our splitter. If any "water sheriff" ever tried to remove mine without permission, he would have bigger problems than water.

    • @GeRom831
      @GeRom831 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can understand the concern but I've been camping for 10 years and I've never seen a sign prohibiting splitter valves. And God help the "water sheriff" if he ever removed mine without talking to me about it first. 😃

    • @larrynone6354
      @larrynone6354 ปีที่แล้ว
