- The Stainless Steel Apple Watch starts off looking like a 10, then over time turns into a 5 or 6.

I’d rather the body get dinged up than the screen, the saphire screen is very scratch proof and way harder to crack. Some people prefer the smaller body and stylish looks so still is a solid option to buy
Lol did you ever go to school bud? The Ultra has the WEAKEST screen in terms of crack resistance. Sapphire cracks way easier than glass, only scratches less easily
i doubt its got enough sapphire to make much of a difference
@@BooleanDevit really does make a HUGE difference. I’ve seen and had many stainless and regular watches and the differences were pretty huge
@@worldtech8345 stainless steel has nothing to do with the glass
@@BooleanDev It does when the stainless model is the one with the sapphire crystal. And yes it does make a difference. Look up scratch tests. It’s legit sapphire.
This is a very simple answer. Stainless steel Apple watches can always be buffed down to near perfect condition. For this reason alone, I only buy stainless steel Apple watches. Along with the fact that most high-end watches are stainless steel.
It doesn’t get rid of all the scratches still shows micro scratches many videos have shown this, so it’s not a complete fix.
@@Moose185depends on how deep the scratches are and how you buff with it, I can’t say it’s the easiest thing to do because you don’t wanna accidentally scratch the screen even if it is made of sapphire I’m sure you can scratch it trying to buff the frame.
most high end watches are titanium, not heavy stainless steel
It’s also very difficult to do without getting compound, etc in the speakers, behind the crown, etc. since it’s not an easy thing to disassemble down to the frame.
How about using a watch case and saving like 3-400$?
stainless steel/sapphire and 40mm is the best choice i’ve made on an apple purchase dude. no cracked screen, no case, nice weight, jack of all trades-can wear a nicer metal band without looking like a goofball. stainless steel (and 40mm size imo) takes it from a piece of tech to functional jewelry. barely any cosmetic issues bruh idk what you’ve been doing with yours. i’ve run miles with it, get it wet, school/work/gym, i sleep with it on…
Agree
Exactly. This guy is so dumb these days. IMO I loved his old content way better
Mm
Agreed. I got a stainless steel 4 and it still looks like day one.
If I used an 40mm AW, arm would look like those 1970s women with 10mm watch face.
I chose the stainless steel option due to its understated elegance, as the gold variant can sometimes appear ostentatious, lending a touch of sophistication to my ensembles. Moreover, I appreciate the stainless steel iteration not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for the subtle status it confers upon me. While anyone can readily acquire a basic Apple Watch, the ubiquity of the entry-level models contrasts with the relatively fewer instances of the steel version, akin to the allure of luxury cars over their more commonplace counterparts.
Speaking of resilience, my Series 6 Apple Watch has sustained its impeccable appearance over time, a testament to its durability. In alignment with the sentiments of the late Steve Jobs, I concur that stainless steel possesses a unique charm that only deepens as it ages, akin to the appreciation for fine patina on quality objects.
Finally someone who is exactly like me! I have had 2 apple watches. My first was an aluminum one. Second watch I upgraded to the stainless steel Apple Watch series 6. Between the two I prefer the look of the stainless steel Watch. The gold stainless steel watch is so easy to dress up and looks elegant with whatever watch band I use.
I still have my stainless steel Watch. Even though it is a couple of years old the stainless steel watch still looks brand new today with minimal scratches. My aluminum watch had scratches on it and looked worn after owning it for one year. Stainless steel all the way, you couldn't possibly pay me to purchase another aluminum Apple Watch. Aluminum Watch is a total downgrade from the stainless Watch. In my opinion I wouldn't get the ultra watch simply because I love the look of the stainless steel apple watch!
You sound very pretentious
@@James-616 nah just a tech enthusiast. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to criticize me. Have a great day 👍
@@Dreamfoodreviews 🤣
On a normal high-end watch, scratches can be buffed and polished out during its regular maintenance. Sadly Apple Watch doesn’t have the lifespan to make it worthwhile.
Thats how you can tell difference between watch people, tech people and trendies.
@@OntarioBearHunterwdym
? I have series 6 stainless and polish like every 2 months but I love my watches also it’s got a ton of life left in it
Cuz it's the ONLY material that looks AMAZING with brown leather watch bands. Looks classy af, and that steel luster is what makes up half of that visual appeal.
you have good taste . I agree this what i always get . Apple Watch stainless steel with leather band. It is the best combination . it works with any outfit
@@adnanfotih4275 yes!! Exactly!
I wore all stainless models- the original Apple Watch, then the S3, then the S5, which I just replaced with the U2. Mine never got scratched up because I treat my watches well and do not whack them into things.
Ive had my Stainless Steel Series 8 for a few months now and there's not a single scratch, so I don't know what your doing with yours.
You have the Silver one or the Graphite/Gold? I understood that the Silver is nowhere near as durable as other 2, because it lacks an extra layer of coating.
The silver version is not coated so it gets scratched very easy ive got the 41mm series 8 in gold and it looks like new! make sure you buy the gold or graphite model since they are extra coated and not raw material :)
You can get a polisher and just rub away the scratches, also works with any silver iPhone with a stainless steel. Just don’t use it on the colored ones, it would not be an enjoyable experience.
PVD coating on the Graphite & Gold variants largely mitigate this.
I like the fact it reminds me of my old iPhone X and the OG iPod touches. I wish I could afford one.
He posted this solely for views and engagement...he KNOWS why 🙄
Apple needs to bring back the black titanium Apple Watch from series 5. I’ve had mine since 2019 and the sapphire glass and matte black case still holds up.
Ultra still looks brand new after rock climbing with it for a year🙌🏼
Because of the tech AW only has a lifespan of 4 years before I need a tech refresh.
The graphite stainless steel Apple Watch Series 7 looks brand new without a scratch anywhere on it after a year of use. And I wear it 24/7 except to charge.
That’s because it has a coating on it unlike the raw silver stainless steel one.
Same as mine 45MM
Well, Apple had finally listened to you and stopped making stainless steel watches 😂
My first Apple Watch v1 was stainless steel. I hated how heavy it was. I then purchased a AW v4 aluminium and was surprised how light and fast it was. Since then it’s been aluminium until AWU2.
I’ve had the space black titanium for 2 years and looks completely flawless, screen and casing have no scratches. Used to have the stainless steel one and it scratches up bad. Was worried about polishing it out as your still stripping off the metal.
Because the stainless steel pretty much goes with every band you get. Unlike if let say you get a red watch even if you get the cover for it. Theres always a hint of that color and for some people that has some OCD. If it doesnt match. Then we get paranoid.
My stainless steel Apple Watch is perfect. I will always buy stainless Apple Watches
I get it for the sapphire screen!
I just vehicles my Apple Watch Series 8 in Aluminium Midnight Black, and I can’t see any scratches. Inhaber been wearing it all day everyday since I got it back in January, I walk the dogs wearing it, do all my daily bits and bobs, and I have no scratches. Same with my SE which I handed to a good friend. He is very happy it!
The gold Apple Watch 9 looks so good though but a 45mm stainless steel Apple Watch 9 is the same price as an Ultra.
You can polish the Stainless steel silver to get it looking like brand new
Polish it?
Most tool watches are brushed steel, this being polished will show marks and wear far far faster, it can always be repolished however to take it back to the original finish
The titanium on the ultra is perfect compared to the black or stainless I’ve had, I’m hoping Apple releases an all titanium iPhone ultra version, would be the beast of all phones.
@@MISTERBONG228 haha 😜
All high end classical timepieces were stainless steel, or straight up gold/silver that also scuffed. But get this straight… steel/gold/silver looks exquisite with a fine leather band (like the Hermes one I got two years ago) or a metal loop. I can wear it at a professional conference, a white tie academic event or even meetings without looking like I am wearing a G-Shock
Would you recommend stainless steel or aluminum
Personally, I like the well used look. Plus it’s easily reversible via buffing.
If you have a Apple Watch try what I do I haven’t seen others do it get one of them little dremel tools with a buffing wheel get metal polish slip it on 4-6 take your time buffing it out finish it up with a microfiber and man it looks incredible but you can’t get deep scratching out
Got my series 9 today stainless steel. The reason I chose it is because I have a nickel allergy with the aluminum. It’s best for us allergy sufferers lol
I have the gold stainless steel Series 6 & just upgraded to the gold SS Series 9! SS just looks more like jewelry IMO :)
Stainless steel and Airpods/cases they truly need a makeover because the amount of scratches is abnormal
Simple solution: Silver polish.
So glad I went with the Ultra
The glass gets messed up way before the case 😂
He should try the black stainless steel Apple Watches. They’re far more durable
Dude what did you do to yours?? 💀
The difference between me hubcap watch people and smart watch people is very funny. People with luxury sports watches take the wear and tear as pride and proof they actually wear them and don’t just stick them on display on their house. Also a vintage watch with buffs will sell for far more than a buffed one.
You must be an out of the ordinary heavy user, I’ve used my stainless steel Apple Watch series 7 for over a year and a half now and it looks 9.7 out of 10, almost as new.
You also have the Silver one or the Graphite/Gold?
@@bogdandinu503 I only have the graphite.
They brag how flawless the screen is compared to all the micro scratches. Trade in value is the SAME as aluminum too. Get a AWU instead
Lmao😂😂😂
I got the series7 stainless steel for more than a year and there is 0 scratches on the glass screen there is few scratches on the body but it's not noticeable not unlike the aluminum and i will never buy aluminum again and btw i work in a construction and this watch got bump to metals and glass everytime but still looks new. My only problem with sa Ultra watch is it's so HUGE the 45mm stainless steel fits me just right.
U have the Silver model or the Graphite/Gold?
@@bogdandinu503 i have the graphite
You’re supposed to be an apple product expert. It’s simple, it looks premium, has sapphire glass, have a solid weight and doesn’t feel like a toy, and can easily be polished unlike the aluminum which can be dented with a less superior glass.
I’ve had 2 SS Apple Watch’s and they’ve been very durable. 🤷♂️
I wonder why they don’t coat the stainless steel on the watches like they do on the phones?
I just take care of my Apple Watch and after 2 years of constant use it looks brand new.
You also have the Silver one or the Graphite/Gold?
Try cleaning it. Looks like new!
It looks more premium
My series 6 still looks awesome
I have stainless watches 30 years old that dont look like that and get worn everyday.. and don't need charging.
It depends on the alloy of the Watch, I guess. Some alloys are more resistant against scratches than others. It depends on your environment too. The watch of a white-collar guy is shiny, compared to a one of a blue-collar dude. When i have to repair something on my car or so, i always put my watch beside.
But yeah, I hate it to charge every night indeed.
This isn’t normal, you can read the rest of the comments to see people are saying their Apple Watches don’t look like that
I’ve used different stainless steel Apple watches for years and none of mine have looked like that either
Also, why mention the charging part? There’s plenty of other things your 30-year-old watch can’t do that the Apple Watch can 🤣
I think you’re totally delusional when it comes to the stainless steel I have two of them I have done ultra races and I have also worked on cars as a mechanic full-time wearing them. I never take them off and they look brand new the last time I had to get a battery replaced. They told me they couldn’t believe what good shape they were looking.
Hi Monty 👋
They look classy
You do know you can buff up a stainless steel watch.
I guess you don’t know how to take care of your watches 😂
So many pretentious people in the comment section, wow 😮 Trade-in value is the same for both, buy a film screen protector 😮
I am a soft 2 too
Because aluminium material is so bad. So for long term use better go for steel.
I don’t understand it either
The Ultra is so durable
People like them because they are the least expensive
Mine looks great, much harder to dent
My stainless steel 7 looks terrific. Don’t understand this at all. You must have abused it.
You also have the Silver one or the Graphite/Gold?
Why did he have his phone in his hand? We all have 14 pros bro. 😂 it didn’t need a cameo lol
I’ve had my stainless steel for more than a year and it looks nothing like that lol you’re just clumsy
I actually hate all smart watches!!! They are far to expensive for what they are and you are never free.
We need to move away from the reliance of smart tech.
Disagree I love smart watches if you having fun days out exploring satnav having a spend up Apple Pay. I a Rolex Gucci watch when I go to a party wedding so I use both for best of worlds
Love my ultra
@@williamnewland4706 i enjoy my compass and paper maps. I have no want or need for a watch that does any of that.
Keep a decent pocket watch for time keeping.
All and all a lot cheaper & generally more reliable. Saved our butts in the mountains and jungle when all else failed.
After the first time and an old timer saved our hides with his skills. I made sure to brush up and never forget.
