Some say that a life sentence is harder punishment than the death penalty, and I believe it. Some witnesses to the execution of killers who murdered their loved ones say that the killer got out of it too easy. As a side note, note that the judge ordered that his commissary be garnisheed until all the various costs she listed were paid in full. That's probably going to make for an additional really cruddy feeling for a couple of years or so in whatever prison he goes to now.

Non person?. He was an 18 yr special needs student, whose parents left him when he turned 18. He had a house,a bed and no food. Then his school was dropping him because he had aged out of the special needs program. Since his parents didn’t care there were no plans to further his education or skills so he could be a productive human. He was left alone with a sever learning disability, no parents, no school and few if any friends. The child was lost and angry. The school community saw him as a drain on resources. This wealthy community only saw a looser who would not prosper like their kids. If anything, the entire community and school should be jailed.

Actually, in a way, it's worse because a homeless person is stripped of everything, and the mean people will have complete dominance over him/her. It doesn't matter how it's done, murder is murder, and ruining someone's life like that is the same thing as killing them with a gun. It just takes longer.

The way I see it, there's two sides to the life or death sentence debate.
It feels like a waste having scum like this live off of tax dollars. Sentence them to death and get done with it. Don't spend any money on these beings.
On the other hand, a life sentence can be a lot more punishing than dying. Being forced to live the rest of your life in prison, withering away without making getting to live out your life, let alone achieve anything significant.
Someone committing such a disgusting crime, especially this young, should just be put in permanent solitary confinement, stuck in their cell without getting to leave it, without any free time activities. Obviously that's not a way to treat a human, but someone like this .. come on. While you're at it, put them on suicide watch so they don't get to take the easy way out. Really make him take in those 50-60+ years to come.

He needs to slowly forget what pretty girls look like, what fresh cut grass smells like, what the night sky looks like, what delicious food tastes like, what nice clothes feel like, what a great, live concert sounds like.

He will never have a profession, or a family of his own, he will never buy a nice car, he will never chose to eat what he wants, when he wants.
He will get up when told, eat when told, go to bed when told.
A life sentence is best in my opinion as this freak will eventually have a blurred image of what a good life is.
He will develop the "institution shuffle", head down, feet dragging...
He will struggle to remember, and do not doubt for a minute that it will kill him to want it so bad he will cry in the night.
And he will hear other inmates also scream and cry out in the night.
He will be surrounded by murderers and thugs for the rest of his repulsive life, without any love or peace.

      Wholeheartedly agree.
      Appalling sentence.
      No justice served.
Subject doesn’t just intentionally kill one or two or three innocent humans but seventeen and gets to fully live until he dies of natural causes while his victims don’t.
But wait .. here’s the kicker... subject will live off his victims families and their friends tax payer dollars till he passes away, which realistically can be till he’s hundred or so years of age. His room (roof, bed, utilities, etc), board (food, clothes, etc), entertainment (board games, magazines, cards, TV, etcc), dental, medical...all FREE.
How anyone can advocate for a life in prison sentence and or say this sentence is righteousness, is beyond my comprehension. Obviously the mind of a leftist loon. Same mind who say it’s okay to kill human babies just don’t hurt animals because they have rights. Same deranged minds of those climate change loons too.
Normal people aren’t able to grasp or comprehend the minds of those sick sick twisted individuals.
This is truly appalling. Tax payers have already footed more than $900,000.00 between incarceration and court costs.
      I have no further.
      I’m disgusted.

      @DVGomes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

You're absolutely right. The trial lasted way too long and the ignorant "Defense Team" mocked and disrespected the victims and their families and survivors and loved ones. We Floridians need to make a law that anyone who kills or murders any child 17 years of age or younger automatically gets the DEATH Penalty. Also all the members of the Defense Team should be hanged. And Nicolas Cruz should be put to death by the same method he did his victims. Where is that in the Bible?? Jesus Christ said "Whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you (Nicolas Cruz) do ye even so to them..." In short The Golden Rule Do unto others what you would have them do to you" So we want a Broward County Sheriff to do to Nicolas Cruz the same thing he did to 34: victims. They need to put him to death 34 times. One death for each victim...Oh wait...he only has one LIFE to give. Even if he gets the death Penalty, he will deserve 17 to 33 more deaths, to fully pay for his crimes. Wait a minute there's a GOD Almighty JESUS CHRIST Who is going to punish Cruz the rest of what Cruz stole from Florida at M.S.D. "For we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his (or her Casey Anthony) body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad." 2nd Corinthians 5:10. Hebrews 13:8, Genesis 9:6.
