I’ve been fishing corpus and port a since I was a kid. I’m 53 now and the fishing pressure is a lot. With that said I wish people would clean after themselves. Take care of our resources or they will be lost for future enjoyment.
Thank you for sharing local knowledge, especially for beginners or visiting tourists. Nice to make folks feel welcome. Lighthouse Lakes note: If you're kayaking, you can use the sound of Hwy 361 road traffic to guide you back to your vehicle. If you're hard of hearing, like some of us old folks, you can use the sun as a guide. Sun sets west towards Aransas Pass, therefore, Hwy 361 is towards the south. Kayakers wear high visibility clothing and be aware of boat traffic parallel to Hwy 361. Let's all be responsible and clean up after ourselves. I always bring out my own trash and someone else's. Tight lines everyone.
I've passed that Packery Channel Park turn off a hundred times but I never turned in. I thought it may be a good spot. We were there from October 2021 until March 2022. I wish I'd seen this video back then, I'll remember this when we go back. Thank you!
Coming into Padre there by snoopy's is a favorite place of mine. Put a tag on a big red in October. Thanks for the tips, Texas Beach Bum. One day when I retire I'll become a full time beach bum, too. Keep your line wet!!
Amazing video !! Went growing up allot but had a big era of no shows until now that I’m in my early 20’s and this just helps the knowledge grow for fishing on my own !! A fall/winter month spot video would be awesome 🤩
15:49 Caught my pb flounder right there, but that spot is hit or miss. Didn't catch anything the three other times I went there, and neither did anyone else.
Went fishing in Port Aransas in July and wow it was amazing. Fishing the pier and jetty, if I could move there from West Texas I would in a heartbeat. God bless you thank you for sharing these spots
Thanks for another great video. I live in K.C. and try to get down to this area every winter. Not knowing this area your videos have really helped me. I really enjoy Texas and the people i meat there, Port Aranas Texas city dike and Corpus are the places i usually go. Thanks again for all the help.
Thanks, bro. I'm from San Antonio. You are very helpful. Me and my son are here fishing in Port aransas. He just got out of the navy. Where here for 4 days.
Went to Rockport-Fulton with the Family. Really wanted to fish. But just as a last vacation since our son is going to college. Wanted to take him to the coast. Love this video.
What a dick. Before starbucks, i was wading right there and a local pig motioned me over onto the shore to talk to him. Then told me I was trespassing. Pricks.
Ive pulled some big trout and reds out of Packery channel on the other side toward tne ocean at the place where it goes into where homes were going to be built. They have redone the jetties with big rocks now, so probably not as good now.
Your videos and tutorials are fantastic. Please, please keep these type videos coming. I really liked the video about using salted shrimp too. People told me that they used it, but I didn’t take it serious. You just convinced me that salty shrimp is the way to go. Thanks you so much Sir.
I truly appreciate the fishing spots. I live in Phoenix, where it is very hot, and only make it out there a couple of times a year. Any info is always welcomed. Thanks.
New Subscriber from San Antonio! #4 and 5 and fishpass north have long been one of my go to spots. I just got a 24' Cajun bay boat. That changes the game!
Love the video! Quick question, could I camp out at Fish Pass Bridge or any of the other fishing spots besides the one near mustang island? I would love to bring my travel trailer down there to camp and fish.
love the videos and the details. I live in San Antonio and always like to do day trips leaving like 3 am to get there and set up by 6 am to fish. What is your number one favorite?
What a good place to cast net live mullet. Seems like alot of the time mullet at the jetty tend to push away from rocks so its a bit hard to reach them sometimes. Figured if I can net them before heading to the jetty might be a good idea.
Hello, I'd like to do a camping surf fishing road trip from Canada down to Corpus Christi in January or February 2024. Will the weather be like our Fall camping trip temperature-wise. Will the spots you mention in this video be good times for surf/shore fishing? Or should I be headed further south to S Padre or Boca Chica? I might bring a Kayak too. Thanks for any tips or suggestions. Steve (67yrs) Manitoba.
Bring your Kayak this area has some of the best kayak fishing spots. The weather will be just fine might be a little chilly some days but over-all you'll be fine. I would camp out on North Padre Island. Natioanl seashore for the best experience. You can usually tavel down five miles with no 4 wheel drive after that you will need 4 wheel drive. Surf conditions are hard to predict but usually in the winter months it's calmer. Winter fishing is awesome down here especially for Pompano. Early morning is usually good for surf fishing as well as bay fishing. Personally I think this area is better than South Padre. There are camp grounds on Padre if you dont want to boondock. Park fee will cost you $15 for a week I believ unless you are in the military or have been in then it's free. Look at this camping video on Padre th-cam.com/video/v09RIhy37B8/w-d-xo.html
I've lived here my whole life, and have caught the most fish in the places he say's not to fish. Some of the largest reds and trout are caught in less than two feet of water. Fish the shallow bays, you don't have to wade out to deeper water. Beach fishing is always a blast, but probably not for most people because you really do need some quality gear.
youre not going to catch much when the water temps are near 90 in the shallows. When the water is very warm fish migrate to deeper waters that is why you fish the channels and near structures that has shade. Beach fishing is not expensive a penn battle 3 combo will do the trick just fine and a few popmp rigs. One of the spots I talk about here is very hot for large trout and redfish right as the water goes from shallow to deep. Lots of people fly fish back there and do just fine. Under the bridges are great in the fall and early spring months especially the one as you get on the Island. That area I say not to fish is because you need to wade out far to get anywhere near the fish. Not saying you cannot catch fish there but there are way better spots just down the road. Surf fishing is always a guarantee that you will catch fish that is why I do not do much bay fishing because the surf is where it's at if you have no boat. Fishing just past redot on the right is a waste of time to me much better places down the road.
What is the drone you fly? I'm thinking about getting one. Any considerations I should be aware of before I buy one? thank you. Great footage and info.

I went there to the beach by the us Lexington and ain’t catch shit don’t fish their but then again I’m sure that’s a swimming area but I wouldn’t swim there either there’s tons of jellyfish

8 foot rod with something like a penn battle 3 4000

What about Fish Pass Jetties in Mustang Island State Park ?
Only did bay area spots in this video but thats a good spot especially the surf next to it
How big are the mangroves at the oso turnaround?
