@@Jacemang_Outdoors please do. I recently moved here from Oklahoma and am looking for all the tips I can get here. BTW, I'm really enjoying your vids so far.
Those reds were very shallow! Great job not spooking them and catching them. I think I would have messed that all up. Kind of reminds me of the water when I drive to fort Walton beach Florida. Clear and grassy.
Hope you did ok for Beryl, seemed like it hit Houston more than Corpus. I was wondering if you could make a video talking a little bit about your gear. What kind of rods and line and all that. I live in San Antonio and I've been watching a bunch of your videos and being a complete noob when it comes to fishing I have become very interested in going down to Corpus for some fishing. Keep up the great videos!
Yea Corpus was fortunate, storm moved east last minute. I try to sprinkle gear overviews into the vids. I can do a dedicated gear vid in the future. The down n dirty is just go fish and use what feels comfortable. There is no substitute for experience on the water. Medium action rod, with baitcaster or spinning reel of choice can catch anything inshore. Let me know if I can answer specific questions you may have. Tight lines!
@@Jacemang_Outdoors sound advice my friend. I’m going to head to academy and get myself a basic setup and get out there. Your videos really inspired me to start fishing again. Thanks for the advice.
What test of line are you fishing on your spinners? Looks like you can really horse em in. And is it braid or mono? Hell of a morning you had, stay safe with the weather!
I run various setups, I definitely have way too many rods and enjoy mixin it up. Medium action rod with 2500 series spinning reel or equivalent baitcasting setup with 15 to 20 lb braid is my go-to inshore rig.

I fish all the same spots you do. I dont think theres a single spot you’ve fished that I havent been to. I think only the famous ship channel video (last video) Id never seen. Only took a few minutes on Google maps to find it. The spot doesn’t matter for the people asking, it’s the ability to see the patterns and find the fish. Was on some tailing reds this past weekend and couldnt convince a single one to bite. Frustrating.
Thats cool, Ive been in the area a year so trying to explore different fisheries. I generally fall back on fundamental fish behavior given the season and conditions to find fish. Im also a power fisherman so I generally move alot to cover water. Fish are usually feeding somewhere and it might not be someone's favorite spot. I try to explain this principle to spot snipers but they dont listen lol. I appreciate the awesome comment. Maybe we will run into eachother on the water!
@@Jacemang_Outdoors I guess I agree on what this perdon says, I've skunked a lot and I'm just trying to find a spot that'll make happy to fish and say I caught some good red

Nothing better than sight casting schools of reds in skinny water! Great video.

Once you experience sight fishing like this, it makes deep water fishing boring, imo.

15 lb braid to a 20 lb flourocarbon leader most of the time. Thanks. Be safe!
