It is not needed to hear the judge. The trial is to provide evidence to the Jury. The Jury needs to hear the witnesses at all times, they only need to hear the judge when she gives jury instructions.

The Judge doesn't care if you can hear her or not. All that matters is that the people in the courtroom can. If you can't hear her, turn your hearing aid up.

Its for the stenographer. Courts have to keep an actual log of every word uttered in a court session. Someone is typing out every spoken word and if they cant hear it really messes things up

So it would be acceptable if she were older? Many have lost limbs at very young ages due to many reasons. Sadly her nephew killed and hurt many. Her lost limb is the least . those that no longer have their family members would not care if a leg was missing. They would be happy they were alive

@@j.y.3604I think you are vastly overestimating him. The reality is his parents were selfish drunks pursuing their own interests and affairs. They'd been leaving him home alone to bar hop since he was 6 years old. They showed up for the parent teacher meetings and took family vacations for appearances, but dragged him into their fights and left drugs and alcohol out in their messy house. He had little to no supervision so he didn't have to hide anything. His fantasies were written out in a notebook he just left in his backpack and his texts and animal torture videos were right on his phone because he knew his parents weren't paying attention.
It's not hard to not be a homicidal manaic for a week. They were together for a funeral so any odd behavior would have likely been shrugged off and attributed to grief. I highly doubt his aunt who claimed she and his dad were close and talked every month but actually only spoke a handful of times would offer up any of the things that she may have noticed and she knows were really red flags. I don't think anyone was paying close attention to him, especially if they have a large family. His aunt absolutely knew he had a miserable home life though. Notice how she said if she had noticed something wrong she would have taken him away? Not told his parents, not make sure he got help, but take him away.

I would not expect an aunt who lives far away to know their nephew very well, or to be his confidante about personal emotional problems. Why would she know anything? It's the parents who SHOULD know, and who DID know Ethan was seriously troubled. The sister doesn't see any problem with kids using guns under adult supervision. That is, of course, assuming the adults are RESPONSIBLE gun owners who keep their ow guns and ammunition locked so that kids don't have access to the weapons. That did not happen in this case.

    • @ThatRedhedd
      @ThatRedhedd 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The evidence presented at the trial actually showed that he was a normal kid, as far as anyone knew. He had no disciplinary issues at school. Nobody at school had serious concerns or recommended mental health treatment prior to that day. Nobody read the kid's journal. The kid told his friend he spoke to his parents about wanting help BUT he never testified to that under oath - whereas his mother testified under oath that it never happened and he never mentioned it. He appeared like an average teenager at home. All teens are moody, or depressed after their dog dies and their best friend moves away. All the kids there like going hunting and shooting - the school has late start Wednesdays for that reason.
Sounds like the evidence proves the parents could have reasonably been unaware of his struggles or plans prior to that day. Once they were asked to enroll him in therapy within 48 hours, they immediately agreed to do so.

We have a serious problem in this country. We have the gun manufacturers, the NRA, the gun lobbies, maga republicans, and just the weird people who seem to be motivated exclusively through this Americana gun bs. It really made me concerned for the mother's trial as if you replace the gun in this case with alcohol, everyone would agree the parents were culpable if their child killed 4 in a DUI if they gave him alcohol, bought it for him with his own money because he was not legally allowed to yet, ignored his mental health issues, and allowed easy access to a vehicle. But with it being gun related, so many were making comments about how the parents were "innocent". It's a relief she was found guilty, but it shouldn't have been. It's the bare minimum. Those kids will never come back and their friends and families will never be the same. All because of how this country has been indoctrinated into gun culture and how we ignore every possible mental health red flag until it's too late. Then it's obligatory "thoughts and prayers" platitudes and nothing changes.

Nobody at school had serious concerns or recommended mental health treatment prior to that day. Nobody read the kid's journal. The kid told his friend he spoke to his parents about wanting help BUT he never testified to that under oath - whereas his mother testified under oath that it never happened and he never mentioned it. They discussed with school staff whether or not they should remove him from the school that instant, and the school counselor said, "No, he can stay!" When parents are told by the _Professionals_ that their child is fine remaining at school & that he needs to begin therapy within 48 hours, and parents concur, which part were they in the wrong for?

She may not of seen or heard anything concerning because she has been normalized with her Brothers behavior so guns sitting out or the apathy with their child they had may not be apparent of awareness for her. Some have grown up thinking loaded guns on a counter or easily accessible is completely normal as they have seen it everyday growing up. There in no doubt The parents armed their kid, were indifferent too his mental state and problems and then dissolved their important roles of being Responsible Parents. Responsible is the Key word here. Responsibly is solely on the parents when you arm a child so yes even though Mr Crumbly didnt pull the trigger he is responsible for the actions that allowed his son access too his weaponry. Parents of kids under 17 who they are raising are legally responsible for the actions of their children. We were always taught this. But in this case these parents want a free pass because they feel by their standards which were minimal that the gun crime their son committed isnt their responsibility. They compiled their Lack of Responsibility by hiding out and dodging from Police rather than helping. Sadly this kid had no real and caring help at home other wise they would had spent the money on mental care rather than arming him. In the end the parents bought the weapons and the parents set the whole chain of events in motion. They didnt pull the trigger but their lack of quality parenting did buy the weapon, the ammunition and allowed easy access too the Deadly weapon. There actions and in actions set this whole chain in motion. Responsibility!

obviously because they’re not going to glaringly glorify those who commit shootings and they’re not going to allow or make them notoriously known…that’s a concept broadly utilized now a days. The perpetrators want to be known and go down in history as the worst this or that and the courts, news, and ppl in general are just not going to give these criminals that gratification!!!!

I believe it has to do with his being a minor and his having appealed his case.

They did that in the mom's trial as well
They just referred to him as the shooter
I think it was to hammer in he was the one who committed the crime.. " the shooter"

Judge didn’t want his name mentioned, judge asked to call him the shooter, if I remember he Ethan will think he’s being glorified, from what I’ve listened and read hope this helps

Unfortunately, if the plan to call Ethan "shooter" was so he wouldn't gain notoriety backfired. More people are talking about him and researching him because of it.
