I agree as per prior to the verdict. Once the verdict was rendered, she should have given the defendant the choice to leave the court room prior to her rendering all the mundane things she covered - though beneficial to you and the jury perhaps more so. It was unnecessary that a defendant there and have to hold her emotions any longer than she cared to.

She is in a state of shock, frozen. She could have been outside enjoying the simple things in life like going to the grocery store, making some tea in the morning, watching tv even with the annoying commercials we hate in normal life. Lifting her head up to the sun when it's a nice day etc. Probably dawns on her that all those simple yet so important things called freedom are gone! Now she can sit and rot in jail thinking about that and for what?! She chose to end this poor woman's life and her own. Pfff I will never understand these kind of things.

Me neither. I agree with you that she definitely looks like it is finally hitting her that she is going to rot in prison at least for the next 25 years. I'm sure she probably is reflecting on everything she threw away. Alot of times we look at the murderers and it is hard to tell if they are experiencing any emotion at all. She was greedy and and she could have just told Taylor she stole the money-or used it- and arrange a way to start paying it back. Worst case scenario Taylor filed charges or sued her for the money. She didn't have to kill her over it. Now she will waste the rest of her good/40's and 50's years in prison. IF she ever makes parole what can she do with her life when she gets out? She has always been a ho/slut two timing cheating type of woman so.......

I have seen that sort of closing with more judges in the last few years - that said it is reasonable to remember that what we see 'streamed' is not necessarily all. I think if you know in your heart you are guilty and your counsel talk about that with you ( and any good defense team would) You would expect to hear it - not every sentence but the overall nature. Juries often have a meeting with the jury after a trial has finalised to take on any concerns - not about the trial so much but about their own individual issues or difficulties emotionallly.

Bill, with all due respects she does not look pure evil, in my opinion. She looks kind of scared. And it seems once the sentencing was complete the scared feeling left her, she willingly gave her fingerprints and let herself be handcuffed, ready to spend the remainder of her life in an orange jumpsuit behind walls, completely managed by others, without any choices, and without any privacy.

@@maximilian200057 Not true: She received a mandatory life without parole sentence for 1st degree murder. The 25 to life was *in addition* for committing that murder with a firearm. Plus, she was already busy serving 7 years, to be followed by 3 years probation, in an unrelated fraud & racqueteering case. She's *never* getting out of prison, no matter what her behavior behind bars is.

One of the quickest verdicts I've seen. The jury got it right. Ashley is a cold hearted murderous snake who only cared about herself. She not only caused pain to Taylor's loved ones but she caused pain to her own. That was her daughter running out the courtroom in tears. All for what? $34,000? To romance a ex con boy toy? Senseless. My condolences to Taylor's loved ones and glad she got justice. 🙏

Jurors in this type of case have a very challenging job. They are taken out of there daily lives and thrown into a full time job of listening to horrific details about a horrific crime. There is no way that this doesn't change jurors lives and they deserve to be commended as such by the judge and the public.

"Love your enemies" has to be one of the dumbest and yet most frequently used quotes ever. It's almost as if people don't actually think about it before saying it. It's such a blatantly dumb idea that it doesn't even require any explaining to be done.
