Thank you, Spencer! Your note means a lot to me. If anyone is wondering where to go for contemporary cutting edge instruction on finish carpenter...visit Spenser's TH-cam channel and you'll find it! th-cam.com/channels/zqh_8hImIc9fhvUu0oVC8w.html
Excellent video to go along with the book. I'm very glad to see you using your legacy of video to add to TH-cam and keep teaching the world of carpentry! As the owner of your book, I'm really enjoying the video which enahnces the great and sometimes small details that matter. Thank you !! Hope all is Well !!
Thank you so much! Started finishing work 2 years ago and just found your videos. Really helping my work look great and be efficient. Your door video was great too.
That long push stick u “Poo-Poo’ed” ? I use it in my weak hand and it’s only purpose is @ a low angle pushing into the fence as I use a push stick like urs to guide it through! It prevents that “wobble” u we’re getting and if cutting angles that can not afford wobbles it’s perfect! Also I use a mag fence in my shop but I still use that long push? My hands are never close to that blade !! I use the 6” Rule! No exceptions! And at 64 yrs young and a working production carpenter (I so enjoy the work it’s Gods blessing to me) I still hv ten “pointers”!! You know I just want to say thanks for the free - bee’s and thank you so much for all the yrs of help and Pro to pro teaching ! (I am tipping my hat)!🎩
Not sure what material the casing is made, pine perhaps? What will glue pine trim together? CA glue is challenged by pine. Great video, loved some of the cutting techniques to make things assembly line fast !
Yes, the casing is pine. No, I don't use CA glue for miters unless there's a good reason--like I'm going to cut through the miter or it's a self-return and a nail might split it, etc.. I use Tightbond II (aliphatic glue--wood glue). Glad you enjoyed!
Hi Gary, Your expertise is impressive thanks for sharing. I am working on a project to diagnose if a door is properly installed using photos and computer vision algorithms. Similar algorithms are used on face recognizing software which you might have seen around. May I pick on your brain to measure the success odds of my project? To make the system work we have to "train it" with photos of doors without issues and doors with issues. Then the system is tested with control pictures, and it should determine whether the door has an issue or not. The best way to start is to feed the system with photographs on which someone can determine inspecting them if there is an issue or not. So my question to you is. Do you think that you could identify most door issues by only seeing door photos?
Hi Garry, Great information that you are passing along. How can we find the slide show? Or is it all the handouts for the class? I tried to get one of your GK 2 tool bag on the Dimondback web site. Do they still make it? The company does not show it on their website. Keep up with all your great work. Stay safe and feel well, Steven
The Slide Shows are mentioned in the video description. They are included at the end of the Program 4 video. Programs 3 and 4 were packaged together in the original DVD series. Hope that helps, Todd
Your video of you destroying a 500 year old tree should put you in jail. You should straight up be in jail as a traitor to the people of this country. I'm disgusted that you've chosen to do such a thing. The future will absolutely look upon people like you with disgust and hatred for destroying what little old growth forests we have left. Future generations will hate what you've done. I'm utterly shocked and disgusted that you celebrate such abhorrent things.
Hey Mr. Anonymous Hater...I had nothing to do with taking down that tree other than documenting the process. If you want to blame someone, blame the forest service, blame the folks who own that home, blame the U.S. Gov't (lots ofyou haters are fond of doing that...though I have to say it's ironic, given that it's the U.S. Gov't that allows you the freedom to express that hatred!).
@@THISisCarpentry it's always someone else's fault right? I comment the same things under the lumberjack pages and they saythe same thing about you! It's not like we document it and make money off instagram and YT posts. How interesting. It's always someone else's fault. That's how terrible things happen in this world. Because it's always someone else's fault down the line. I'm not a hater, I just point out terrible things and logical fallacy when I see it.
@@THISisCarpentry Gary, I'm sure you recognize the rage this person has. You've just given him something to focus that anger on, but its not you, really. Great series Gary! I bought all of them long ago. Great to see this available on TH-cam!

I have the entire dvd collection, an invaluable recourse for me. Thanks Gary!
Hey Brian, thank you for supporting the program and making it possible for me to upload ALL of it to YT. I'm still working on the Programs 7-10.

Yes. It's just taking me a lot of time to get it done! Programs 7 & 8 are up now. Programs 9 & 10 should be up in a month.

Yeah, I kinda thought so, too. Lotta work to edit the old DVD content into videos for YT but worth it and glad I did it.
