Psy electronic gods. Criminally ignored by the mainstream and way out there. More of this please.

You have to see them live with the full band and orchestra, it’s nuts!! They play almost every instrument munis the electronic stuff live with professional musicians

I love love love Shpongle! Simon Posford can do no wrong in my eyes.

Unless it was his idea for their ludicrous name.

@@Owlstretchingtime78the name is iconic. Comes from the made up wors "shmangled" meaning being completely smashed on MDMA. Shpongled is the equivalent but for completely losing your mind on psychedelics.

Star Shpongled Banner is among the greatest "electronic" genre songs ever made if you ask me.....I'd always direct people to it first as exposure to Shpongle.

Wow, a Shpongle reaction? That's a pleasant surprise to see here on this channel. I've been a big fan for at least 20 years, so I'm happy to hear that you also enjoyed this. So many great songs, but my personal favourite is 'No Turn Un-Stoned' from what is also my favourite album, 'Ineffable Mysteries From Shpongleland'.

Thank you so much for checking out my suggestion!! I'm happy to have brought you into a new world and genre of music and I'm eager to see you reacting to more of Shpongle in the future! ❤

Shpongle is magic! It will always be unexpected, mysterious, odd, weird and something different - quite literally a world of its own. But by the heavens it's always wonderful! Even if mind-altering substances were a part of the creative process, the results can be thoroughly enjoyed even without them :)

Great to see someone react to Sphongle. They should be much more well known. Some other great ones are 'Vapour Rumours', 'Museum of Consciousness' or ' The epiphany of Mrs. Kugla' .

To be Shpongled is to be smashed, mashed, kippered, destroyed, stoned, completely geshtunkenflopped

Wow was not expecting a shpongle reaction lol. I used to be big into shpongle and ozric tentacles when i was younger and did alot of acid. Honestly? I still think ozric tentacles makes for a better psychedelic journey. Shpongle took massive influence from ozric tentacles, Simon postfords favourite band was the ozrics back in the day as stated in interviews.
What i find interesting is how shpongle stuck, while the ozrics fell off into relatively obscure band. Shpongle is held is very popular amongst the psychedelic community, seeing ozric tentacles suggest as trip music is incredibly rare, its usually me that steps in to recommend those guys as trip music. This song is a fan favourite though ive always preferred the earlier songs on the album, its certainly a great closing to an amazing album though! If you decide to listen to any more shpongle, its best to listen to a whole album at once, the intent is for each album to take you on a journey but the songs stand up by themselves.

Agreee, their first album was completely transcendental. This at least kind of sounds like music but their first album is the type of shit you hide from your friends in fear of them thinking youve completely lost your mind. Its something beyond music in a way u cant really understand unless you hear it while tripping

Also worth noting, shpongle did not create psybient. Eat static and ozric tentacles were the creators of psybient, youd be surprise how psybient actually has its roots in the canterbury prog scene, ive done whole write ups about how psybient has its roots in the canterbury prog scene but i cant be assed writing it here, just know steve hillage and gong laid the groundwork for alot of influential psybient artists.

Think you would like Underworld. Though Dubnobasswithmyheadman is their first masterpiece, would like to see what you make of Juanita and Banstyle/Sappy’s Curry from Secondtoughestintheinfants.

Not bad - sort of Rob Dougan's Clubbed to Death mashed up with Mike Oldfield's Guilty then remixed by some Arabic producer. I could hear some more of that.

According to every horror movie I've seen, a suddenly cold room = ghosts. Don't tell Saké though. Quite the odd, but interesting, mix of Middle Eastern and South Asian motives on top of the electronic layers.

Ibiza too tired for the speed up. The intro was more my speed, don’t dislike this but a little too produced and on beat. Some enjoyable stuff, Arabic, Indian, etc. vocals, acoustic guitar, Indian orchestral strings were really nice, just a little too fast at the end., for me. Stayed up late painting, ooh, my head…

processor production of digi Tea Days. No SouL? A.I yes Human? Borederline !
Hang on it's The Fifth Element scene when the opera singer competes with dem other characters 4 the missin Stones.
Give me the Twee drudgery of Jon Anderson SonG of 7 over this? Certainly. Ffanx. but No.

Interesting, in a good way. But not quite there. Investigating this band I see that their appeal is in schlock stage antics. They could be so much better.

Started alright, first 4 mins or so. Decent enough background music, when you're in the mood for such, but then... That simplistic little melody that kicked in with the flute, I didn't like at all. And then thereafter it just all got a little too bitty. Shades of India, drum 'n' bass, just incoherence aplenty. And as I've heard it all before, by the 7th min I was tired of it. It has however, now given me a craving for some Turkish Delilght... I'm off down the shop.
