Freddie and Brian did this as an encore later that night at Live Aid. You should check that live performance out. It’s almost as if it was written specifically for Live Aid, it was released in 1984 a year before Live Aid.

A masterpiece of a song! Just him with Brian on guitar, No bass, no drums and it's so powerful!

What a masterpiece!!! Freddie Mercury is the only one who could deliver such an intense piece with such passion. Pure emotion that grabs my heart.❤

I can’t even imagine what Freddie would think about how screwed up the world is now. So much worse than when he was alive even with all the troubles back then. This song always makes me cry. Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne-waiting for life to go by. So true.

Per Brian, as Queen were recording The Works album, they had a few minutes left with no song. So Brian & Freddie got together to write this and fill the record. It turned out quite beautiful. Queen were so creative whenever they united like this. It's very lovely and very thoughtful. Your analysis of it sounds spot on to me. Thank you for your reaction.

This was there last song they sung on Live Aid . They came back to do it, because it fit the bill so well.💕

Brian May and Freddie Mercury cowrote a simple yet beautiful song that still holds so much truth in 2023. I don't believe that there is a wrong way to interpret a Queen song. I am so glad that you feel better

No wrong way to interpret a Queen song. Challenge accepted. Death on two legs is about a pleasant day in the countryside going fox hunting.😎

This song holds the same truths now as it did back then as the title suggests. Is This The World We Created? Yes it is and we as humans are destroying it.

This is my personal "İmagine"...Such a heartfelt song about what the humankind does to the world...
It irritates me to the bone to know that there are so many Queen songs criminally underrated. 😬😤😡💔
This song came after Freddie and Brian were watching the news on TV about the poverty and hunger in Africa.
It hadn't to do anything with the Live Aid concert but the lyrics fitted like a glove for the occasion...
İf I'm not mistaken, It was Freddie and Brian who closed the show with this encore.
You should have listened to the live version David. It will blown your mind, I tell you. Watch the Live Aid version ASAP!

A beautiful song that Freddie referred to as a "Limpid Ballad." They needed a little song for the end or an album so Freddie and Brian just sat down and wrote this one in a couple of hours. They had been talking about all the hardship going on in Africa so this song was created out of that. As it turned out, it fit perfectly for Live Aid so they were asked to do this song as part of the grand finale at that concert.

Your right about it be fantasy in the 70's cuz that was just the time/era they began. The times changed and the men/band grew up. Everything was spot on.

I've always wished they had tacked this on to the end of their 20 minute Live Aid performance, so many people miss out on this beautiful song because it was hours later. It really fit the occasion so perfectly.

This song was written for all those suffering of stavation in Africa. It was written before live-aid was even thought of,so Bob Geldoff had Freddy and Brian come on at the end of live aid to sing it. Perfect ending.

He had nearly perfect control of his movements. Near perfect pitch. He was analyzed and they fund he had sub-harmonics in his vibrato. Very unique. A fast vibrato. Every single note he sang had meaning. He knew exactly how to make a change to a note or phrase to make it affect the listener. He knew how to pull on your emotions. He was a master class . He would have a great great actor. Can you imagine him in a movie? I can. he had such flair and pinache A peacock darling, hahaha

  • @russhorcher1726
    @russhorcher1726 ปีที่แล้ว

Freddy sure knew how to write songs that had meaning. Although there were a few he admitted he composed that were just nonsense that he said he wrote whilst taking a bath. Such as parts of Bohemian Rhapsody. haha Crazy little thing called Love he said he was taking a bubble bath and sat there with his acoustic guitar and the words just came to him. Freddy, such an interesting influential man. Iconic and legendary. He was a literal universal force. Somebody was interviewing him one time and asked him if he could give himself a label what would it be. He immediately said " I am a peacock darling" hahha true enough He didn't jusy run around the stage , he strutted. A master performer This particular song he said, he had no idea or specific reason for it, other than just thinking of the condition of the world and how we have treated it and each other. But it wasn't for any particular purpose
