    I just watched the series and I think it was fantastic. A great adventure really well filmed and narrated. You rode so well, you made it look easy! Well done to Dave for wrestling the big KTM across. I think you will be creating some interest on the CRF300! I hope Honda look after you.

      Thanks Greg, we has such a great time on that trip. It was a good test for the CRF300 Rally and it did it with ease.
      I've just returned from my latest outback adventure with Dave and some other mates. Have a look at that and keep a lookout for episode 2 coming out this weekend.

      @@ShonkyProductions You've found a perfect partner in crime with Dave... he seems like a top bloke. Just watched your Brindabellas trip. It's an awesome place, I used to go explore it often back when I was living in Can'tberra back in the late 90's. Shame that I only had an old Ford Laser which limited me to where I could go....

      @ShonkyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grahamrowe6278 Depends what the end goal is. The rally for better comfort on transport sections, The L for a little less weight off road.
      If your main goal is trail riding... go the L

    Ho Sean !!! / THX for movie !!!! GREAT Job Awesome Adv and funTRIP ! /////
    My 2cents-advice for the next ADV SAFARI Race 🐪🏁 = carbon cover crankcases (left & right) /
    and short & 'articulated' handlebar levers / maybe there is a need for 2 new FORK-PLATES with silent block-risers
    ( but without removing the ignition key and steering lock hole )
    increased radiator or a radiator FLUID that works better ??? ... lower the temperature by 5 or 7 degrees 🔥🔥🔥
    /radiator pipes with better heat dispersion/ 🤔
    I would like 🤩to put in front (under led light, near a little black grid that contains some electrical cables) a little-small engine oil COOLER RADIATOR (like Suzuki on some Bike road models) for better cool 💧💧💧 the 'scarce 2 liters' of engine oil, of this fantastic Dual Rally Adventure Bike!
    👋All Best!

    • @ShonkyProductions

    • @ShonkyProductions
      @ShonkyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andrew, thanks for your comments.
      Yes, I did install rim-locks on both wheels. I like to run tyre pressures lower when needed and the rim-locks help prevent the tyre ripping the valve out if it spins on the rim.

    Just finished the Simpson Desert series, went down to a local Honda shop, and put a deposit down on a Honda CRF 300L Rally abs, Dealer said it might be up to one year before I can pick up a bike, every dealer has a waiting list of people wanting this bike. I searched all across the Western States in the USA and the same story at every dealership. Well, I guess that gives me time to start purchasing the modification accessories in advance. The 300 is an awesome bike, what would you say to a 450 with a similar functioning engine?

    • @ShonkyProductions
      @ShonkyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks and good work putting down a deposit. Also, keep a lookout for a good one on the used market.

    HI Sean are your tyres DOT. and why did you change your exhaust from a moto x to an akrapovic.

    • @ShonkyProductions
      @ShonkyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Wayne, the rear Tracker is. The front Startcross 5..... maybe not. We don't use the DOT rating in Australia. You just have to make sure it doesn't say "Not for highway use"
      I changed exhausts because I wanted something different and something that I thought looked a bit better.

      @@ShonkyProductions that's not bad at all. I was already thinking of trying a Tracker for my next rear, and I think I'll probably do it. My D606 rear is over 7000 km now and has significantly more meat left on the centre blocks than your Tracker -- it may well get to 9000 km. But a change is always interesting. I haven't been running with luggage but ... uh ... you plus luggage weighs less than me, I think. That StarCross 5 front looks pretty nice once I see how my current MT21 does too. D606 front is definitely off the menu for a repeat -- it was absolutely knackered by 5000 km. Should have listened to the internet. Well, no, I learn things the hard way....
