its awesome to see people doing it on bikes much more fun than in 4wds and i love bikes so much faster and more capable awesome riding bro When i get a job i wanna buy an xr650 and go adventure riding love it
I grew up riding the enfield state park and adjoining forests. That clearing once housed a navigation beacon for planes. I assume it has been taken down now though.
Oh, ya changes to the centre of gravity, makes some bikes feel totally different. Nice to see that the tower has not gotten worse, there are some that just sway, just walking up. Never skip leg day. You missed Dads camping setup.
Nice video! I have an 05 WR450 (steel frame) and I'm setting it up as a daily use/weekend camping setup...unfortunately with the QLD coronavirus restrictions my bike is sitting there with L plates on it because learning to ride/drive is non-essential.....bugger lol
Hi Tom, you probably already know this but when your on a single lane sealed road, unless there is oncoming traffic move up into the middle of the road. It’s pot hole city out on the sides and sometimes the road will crumble under your tires, especially after rain. It also makes you look like a tourist. The locals will always drive in the centre and move over for traffic.
Having a good sand tyre on the front is essential to avoid the front wheel knifing deep into the sand. 42 psi is too much! I used a Mitas E09 front in the Little Desert. It was crap; crashed hard and broke my leg!
Chinese eBay special, worked great, needs bit of oil to stop it sticking and bit tricky to clean cause no real non stick, but super light and won’t melt on a hot campfire like alloy
No salt and pepper on that beauty of a scotch fileah?! Tomato sauce kidding yourself! Good vid as always mate Sort your shit with that steak situation though 🤙🏼
You have probably heard this alot but your friend Brendon looks alot like Christopher Mccandless, the dude who died of starvation in the Alaskan wilderness in 1992. It's probably not something he will want to hear before the big trip if he has never heard it before though lmao
Simpson is so fricking easy, great fun but easy, I was expecting a lot more but like everything in Aus it's just overhyped as you don't have much. Saying that I'm still looking ifrward to you hopefully getting through it this time.
For a self confessed person obsessed with saving weight you pack alot of meat. wink...... but I like your priorities. An extra 200g for a comfy tent = not ok... but 357g (yes i checked) steak plus un-numbered about of tinnies = ok.
Mate, why don’t you learn the art of changing gears whilst on the back wheel. You will go further for longer without revving the tits off ya bike. Show some mercy an man up to ya biggest hurdle. You’ll be the better rider for it. ✌️Cheers
Awww yes! Keen to see the Simpson desert again. Shall be riding it myself in the next year or two 🤙
Bloody great vid fella. Love your diet of meat only, no greenery in site. Looks like so much fun and adventure well done.👍
Great vid mate. Can’t wait to watch your next Simpson crossing.

Love it Tom can't wait for more videos.
Great vid! Awesome tracks. Nerb does bloody well with that bike!
Love the WR content. I'm going up to cape york on mine this year after watching your trip.
Why you gotta leave us on a cliff hanger, I want to know how that tent was :(
its like a dragon ball z episode, gotta leave you wanting more
@@RidingWithTom good video tom, can we see more of the mt10 or cbr1000 track bike.
that tent looks cozy
I love how on this trip nerb has more displacement than all you three combined haha
Awesome video guys, love watching you ride...😁
Can't wait :-) :-) :-) :-) great stuff Tom :-)
Aussie block seems like he’s live the dream 👍👍
Tom makes this crossing look fun and easy, while Nerb's videos makes it out to be hard and exhausting.
I dont know who to believe?
Well I guess it depends on how good of a rider you are. Some people like to exaggerate stuff to look like better riders lol
Nerbs bike is about 100kgs heavier than tom's it is harder and more exhausting trying to push that around dirt tracks I have no idea how he does it
"Can a horse run on it's back legs?" LOL
We have a Ballarat here in California.
Why do KTM's always sound like all the internal bolts have come loose?
I'm going to be riding Enfield this Sunday, the terrain might be a little less flat though haha

I’m on a dirt bike man, you think I worry about pot holes haha
@@RidingWithTom wheelie over them

Where were you guys when the boat went past? I'm heading up that way with my boat over Easter. Would be cool to stop there.
Good stuff 👌🏻 living the dream 😍👍
How was the little tent and where did you get it from?
It’s a MacPac bush cocoon, super good tent, I rate it
Eggzzelerate.. had me laughing. Great videos on this channel. 👍👍
Can’t wait for this🤘
Riding madigan line end of july keen as. Wen you doing it mate?
Hey buddy great video, just wondering what tooth cogs ya run at front and back?
WR250R or F?
With all those cattle ranches in Aus, it surprised me that you were eating Scottish beef. Or would that be Scottish breeds farmed in Aus at a guess.
Great vids, keep em coming man
Well look at you, becoming a tent pitcher!
Looks like the Pyrenees near Avoca with that dodgy look out tower
you would be correct!
How many kilometers your Yamaha has? It seems it is holding well.
Over 30,000km with no issues
42,000 on mine
Next year Simpson Desert on a Simson S51?
What speed can you sit at comfortable on the wr250?
I’d say 105kph is the most comfortable, it does 110-115kph just fine but seems a bit revvy, still has plenty of power to overtake up to 140kph
agree 65 mph is the best i can get but i'm also at 5400' above sea level.
WRs - now that's the proper way to cross the desert! None of that huge 600lb-ADVs nonsense.
When is Nerb going to get a proper bike??
I've been meaning to ask for ages,
What are the lights on your bars, and are they any good?
eBay China specials, little 10 watt spotties, they work great!
Have you replaced the bottom end on the WR yet?
Nothing but a couple oil changes!
Do you have any modifications besides the fuel tank to your wr250r ?
Yes many
mato sauce on a scotch fillet.... i would tie you up and leave you in the desert.
How does your titanium fry pan go Tom? What brand is it? Mans got to knock up a perfect steak out in the scrub!
Chinese eBay special, worked great, needs bit of oil to stop it sticking and bit tricky to clean cause no real non stick, but super light and won’t melt on a hot campfire like alloy
What Led lights are on your WR?
Coco Bolo, 10 watt light. Can be found on amazon or eBay.
nice vid Tom! What's your gearing, front & rear? Thank you
14/50 its the best!
Anybody know how much psi Tom was running in this video? Asking for a friend.
FOURTY TWO
RidingWithTom ahhh ok thanks I had the video on mute the whole time. 😉 great job on this video as usual I really enjoy watching your adventures
yeah mateee
Make sure u guys take a sat phone.
These bikes seem really under powered what are they
No salt and pepper on that beauty of a scotch fileah?! Tomato sauce kidding yourself!
Good vid as always mate
Sort your shit with that steak situation though 🤙🏼
Men with beards and wheelie horses, classic Tom
It has been too long since your last WR outing young Tom and friends. Nerv is one good rider on the big KTM
Yeah he would be unstoppable on a sub 300kg bike
@@RidingWithTom do you know why he does prefer the larger bikes?
Tom how'd you carry the steak on a trip like this?
I’d only pick up meat when passing though a town on the way to camp, otherwise we just take like pasta
Awesomeness. Keep up the wr videos
Fucking beautiful! Would love to visit Australia. Looks like a ton of fun!
How tall are you??
175cm
Sweet. Trying to get into dirt bikes but they are all tall as I’m only 170cm. Any recommendations?
42psi, bahahahahahah GOLD
You have probably heard this alot but your friend Brendon looks alot like Christopher Mccandless, the dude who died of starvation in the Alaskan wilderness in 1992. It's probably not something he will want to hear before the big trip if he has never heard it before though lmao
KETCHUP ON STEAK? please man be classy. hahaha
Gotta have some dead horse mate
Is that your second wr250? I didnt get it.. ^^
nope still my only WR from 2014
Great adventure and a perfectly cook steak. RSM8
I live in Ballarat haha
Yes horses can rear up and run, no problems, scariest thing when they run someone over eh
Is it just me, or does that 1190 engine sound like shit @11:30 as it passes by? It sounds like an engine on it's way out.
Yeah his motor is about to RIP, he has a spare going in before Simpson trip
shit man, you're living the dream ;d
Isn’t there crocodiles in the water!??
Not in Victoria haha, we wouldn’t be doing that in North Queensland
RidingWithTom ah lol
42 psi is so high! Yamaha only recommends 21 in the front, 29 in the rear IIRC! And in sand? Forget it dude! Drop that pressure and enjoy the control!
was that ketchup on that steak?
I was wondering the same thing, I sure hope not.
42 PSI???? Wow!
JoeJoe Moto tyre says do not go above 40psi due to risk of explosion 😂
@@Melbournerider hahahah nice. Takin' it to the MAX!!!
Nic's the type of guy to feed the seagulls at the beach
- Don't be like Nic
Harley Clements 😂
did he just put ketchup on his steak?... unsub
Sauce on the steak!!
GOOR MET
If a horse was able to to run on there 2 legs it would be called HORSE POWER and then you gottta dirt bike
Simpson is so fricking easy, great fun but easy, I was expecting a lot more but like everything in Aus it's just overhyped as you don't have much.

Looks like you had a few stacks and failed at a few dunes needing a second go so couldn’t have been that easy!

Haha we won’t be taking meat or alcohol into the Simpson, nothing but business in there
Ketchup on steak? I'm going to report you.
Calling tomato sauce ketchup? I'm going to report you
horses cant wheelie because they are only 1 horsepower
42psi is a joke right :)
Lol one horse that has 2hp
fuck yeh bPIIIIS
How can you drink jack daniels? Thats so disgusting. You should do yourself a favour and get jim beam ^^
Love your vids and aussie dialect mate
Parmy

Lovely big of steak. Mmmmmmm 8-)
