Tinnitus Comforter Masking Noise Focused at 2300Hz May Offer Relief

  • This 2300Hz pinpointed noise may help relieve tinnitus ringing when it is close to this frequency. By request, the tinnitus masking series has many noise ambient frequency bands created for background listening that could help pull the mind's attention on ringing toward a different sound, thus reducing tinnitus to some degree.
Everybody has unique circumstances when it comes to ringing, the causes, the frequency and the type of sound heard. Tinnitus masking does not always work, so don't expect miracles. There is ongoing research and discovery on this topic and while a cure could be years away, there is action that can be taken involving health and wellness, Noise masking is merely one aspect of the complicated subject and often offers temporary relief.
There are great channels hosted by audiologists here on TH-cam for more information, and on the web such as the American Tinnitus Institute. As a sound creator and audio engineer with tinnitus, I have created content on the subject, often based on listener's input, but do not have all the answers. Seeking advice from an audiologist is a great path to tailor an individual plan to reduce tinnitus.
    Thanks for listening, Dale

Ditto here. When I was a kid (tinnitus started at age 8), I remember my grandmother talking about HER grandmother being very deaf, and how she used a curved tube to try to hear better, to no avail. I childishly wished that I could go deaf, and not hear the constant ringing, shrieking, whistling, and racket I had going in my ears day and night. As it turned out, my great-great grandma was deaf because she had terrible tinnitus! No idea why she had it-no rock concerts in her history (or mine, for that matter).
Now I have both tinnitus and some loss of hearing after chemotherapy and radiation treatments. There is no way going “deaf” is going to turn off all the noise, alas. But thanks to generous people like Dalesnale, I can at least get a little relief from the usual noise by listening to carefully orchestrated and blended sounds that very nearly cover the whole range of racket! Even if it doesn’t stop the noise, it’s a relief to just have different noise.
Good luck and best wishes to you, Alice,
and a super grateful THANK YOU to Dalesnale for this channel and videos. Many, many thanks.

I think this one is working for me? I'm very new on this journey. I started having tinnitus about a month ago, extremely intensely. Saw an ENT for it, we started with steroid pills, and then did injections into the ear drum. Did not have any impact. Also did a hearing test, and the audiologist says I have minor hearing loss at low frequencies.
Stumbled upon this channel when taking the advice of the audiologist that says look for ways to mask the issue. I'm pretty bad at identifying what frequency my tinnitus is. More research will need to be done. Reading the comments, I see folks who are going on decades of dealing with this, so I expect a long road ahead.

This one made me think, sometimes cicadas or crickets are really loud out and when others mention it sometimes I'll be like " I don't hear anything?", or rather that the noise from ambient sources is masking the tinnitus to some degree. I guess before all this technology the treatment was and still is to seek our masking noise out in nature if we have the option.
