For the price of that mixer they really should have included a stainless steel bowl in addition to the wood bowl. I would also think a wooden Bowl would not be very good for whipping egg whites I would think you were kind of hang on to Fat similar to plastic. You are correct about the weight of the KitchenAid being able to keep itself in one spot a lot of the cheaper Offspring to planetary mixers actually have suction cups to help them stay on the counter.

Congrats on getting this beautiful kitchen tool. Kitchenaid is worth every penny, I've had mine for 20 years. I want this one! Not to be an enabler but this together with the crate and barrel exclusive hyme colored le creuset bakeware would be awesome!

Aesthetically this one is stunning but functionally the 7qt bowl lift is superior in every way especially for bread making, maybe you need both 🫣 I’m not a good influence 😂

If I were you I would check out some Mr. Mixer's videos. Well KitchenAid is not over the durability they have chipped out in some areas especially on the Tilted design. The speed lever is connected to a pushrod it moves a plate in the back of the mixer back and forth to change the speed. Previously that pushrod was made out of metal they have recently switched it to a plastic one that melts causing the mixer not to change speeds.

Yeah this mixer is beautiful but not really functional long term nor is it good with heavy doughs. When she said you could pass it on made my heart ache because that’s no longer the case especially with tilt heads

Oil it with walnut oil every month, will be beautiful for LONG long time, just like wooden salad bowls! Do not put in dishwasher, just rinse and dry

Nice, but (and this is just me) I rather my $247 regular KitchenAid Mixer in Silver.
I also have a Pro 600 (Contour Silver) which I paid $329 at the time.
Nice new Mixer though.
