Yes, they are small. But they are hyper articulated with a much larger parts count than the original and they also supposedly have diecast. Yes, $38 does seems steep especially for something so small, but thats about average for collectors items in Japan.
I know i would probably never own one of these, but damn, i would kill to at least hold for at least an hour a missing link devastator, if they ever get to do one of course. i bet it would cost almost the same as that masterpiece raiden combiner takara released some time ago tho. I hope they accept kidneys as payment methods :(
The two waves and the dinobots would be the best for the next missing link. Personally an evil side of me would want a missing link ironhide and ratchet. It would make like one sale, but I would be very happy with my purchase.
Tbh, $40 isn’t nearly as expensive as most unlicensed high-end Legends scale figures. That said, the articulation on these guys don’t seem to be more than a Core class figure. Maybe having diecast and real rubber is what made the price so high.
As a huge fan of the G1 Bee/Cliff mold, i love these. The price is steep but for what it holds in my heart, i love it. Hoping for an Encore Bumblebee version.
@@doofusdan_ The ones with the keychains tend to go for less, since they were more widely and more recently available. That said, yeah, there's a bit too much price gouging going on these days.
My top picks for more toys like these would Cosmos, Grim lock/ all the dino-bots, and probably the least to happen all the construction bots to make Devastator
Devastator would be near impossible because of his combination. Mixmaster and Scrapper are held on by a plastic piece that goes in between Long Haul’s thighs that make it impossible to articulate no matter how much changing is done.
Given that there are 3rd party upgrade kits for devasator. Its not impossible to add articulation, the sticking point would be down to how far they can stray from the original design.
I only care about all those sweet sweet tears of misery the majority will have when Takara releases Guntron. The price is pretty good for a Japanese export. The bot alone would be 20, you are adding that this is a new mold with new articulation so an extra 10. Add 10 for the diecast, chrome and rubber tires, and you could lower all that to $30 and the extra 10 as a msrp mark up. Cliff also has a bazooka! A BAZOOKA! I am trying to get it for $30 but no one will ship to me without paying a ton, so I'm going to be stuck with 40 each but free shipping... so... yeah. I'm happy they come in the original Japanese box packaging.
I use to be on those forums... I don't blame you. The forums are TERRIBLE. The moderators don't even follow their own rules and will discriminate against, harass, and even threaten anyone they don't agree with. Jon Bailey has also been targeted by those people. The public claim is that all they did was critic his acting in a professional manner and he got upset that they gave him a negative review but that's not what happened. They got into an argument with him over a difference in opinion and threatened one of his kids who has autism. The forum has a rule against publicly discussing moderator decisions specifically because they don't want stuff like this getting out but I've already been banned over there so what do I care. I purposely got banned because they wouldn't let me delete my account and I got tired of being harassed by their staff. There was a mental health thread on those forums that I was banned from for talking about my mental health. There was a thread that got locked because of an argument that no one had even contributed to in over 6 months and that debate ended on friendly terms, there was no reason to lock it. This one moderate was literally going to every single thread I posted in and either banning me from it or locking the thread all because he didn't agree with my opinion in a totally unrelated topic. It was to the point where I complained to an Admin above him and reported that I was being harassed for no reason by that mod. I had gotten messages from other members who had been harassed by that same moderator. Like three months went by and they finally lifted the bans from certain threads but that moderator was still working as a Moderator and still following me around harassing me every time I made a post. I finally got sick of it and publicly announced everything he had been doing on the forum and that was my last post on their site. They deleted the post right after banning me because of all the stuff incriminating them. So yeah... the forums are gawd awful. Unless they fire that moderator for the abuse of power and get some mods that can actually moderate. They also need to change the rules to a transparency policy about how their staff operates instead of making against the rules to publicly discuss their predatory behavior. Really if you ever see a rule on any forum that says "Don't publicly discuss moderator decisions" that's there to protect them from being publicly called out on their own inability to do their job correctly. That's like when an employer doesn't want you discussing with co-workers how much you get paid. It's very likely that if they don't want you discussing something it's because they're doing something they don't want people knowing about. If they're transparent about how they operate that means they don't have anything to hide.
I remember when 40€ gave you a massive, extremely complex and movie accurate Leader Class Optimus Prime.
Honestly if it was a two pack that was $40 it would make more sense to people
Personally I would pay 40$ to never see Missing Link Ironhide
The only thing I remember about THAT toy of g1 Ironhide is its description on TFWiki
Nah man, I would give away one of my kidneys.
Why?
Bros right ngl😅
@@mmprxtmnt57 oh you don't know
Man, Bumblebee is an expert on murdering wallets....never forget the price of masterpiece bumblebee.....
Looks like a $5-$7 figure to me
If it wasn't super articulated, yes. With the extra articulation, it ought to be $12 or so.
The only correct answer is Soundwave for next ML
I also like Cliffjumper more than bumblebee in most adaptations.

3:44 The tires were real rubber, so they will have rotted away by now, if you could still find one.
My original G2 minicars still have their rubber tires intact. Same with my 45 year old lego tires.

Literally just ordered both for $55 as a pair

40 bucks used to give you two Ultra class Beast Wars toys.

jake is so smart guys
Imma be real I think people are being dramatic. $40 for a super premium item is kinda nice in my opinion.
I think scale is super important here too. If these are the exact same size as the original 1984 figs, $40 is STEEP, even with the added articulation.
They will be about the same size.
The original G1 figure, at least for what I’m seeing, goes for $30-$50 loose so the price for these isn’t half bad.
I got a reissue of Bumblebee a few years ago for $8.

Or all the regular autobots smokescreen, sideswipe
Sunstreaker
i mean its overpriced but its just 40 bucks
$40? Who's makin' these buggers... Lego? 😀
Nah for 40 dollars is INSANE!
C is for cybertron the autobots in Japan and d is for destron for the decepticons

A original bumblebee goes for 40 dollars to 70 dollars
Next? Seekers … they were a stick with bad arms.
Sound wave can wait, cuz he have decent articulation for now.
Which one is everyone buying i preordered cliffjumper?
$40 dollars well damm

nobody tell him how much missing link optimus cost
i got bumble bee missing link for my son from big bad toy store
C = Cybertron
This is a niche I don't really care for (G1 toys given modern articulation) so I haven't tossed a penny towards the concept
0:32 These guys looks like a stump to me
given it probably has die cast and is not going to be produced as much as say a chug deluxe i think 40 is p much fair
Easy buy for me
What's up jake
Missing link iron hide please
That is WAY too much for that
they look so bad
That's how the original ones looked
