    Thanks so much for showing this beautiful place. I particularly noticed at 6:16 there is unique icon hardly found these days anywhere. Yes, the traditional red post box on the street. I also enjoyed how locals tell stories and their traditions. Just momiji manju has such wonderful story behind. Travelling is really about getting to know the locals, specialty, and traditional culture.

    I'm so hooked on your videos right now. I love that you show these non touristy places. I'm the kind of person who appreciates the subtleties of things and so I feel like you're showing the subtleties of Japan. But that's not to say that your videos aren't also fun and beautiful, which they are. Keep it up.

    I visit this island twice and still want to comeback , love the slow walk every mornings and enjoy the early morning look to sunrise and sunset in the evening . You need 2 or 3 days here relaxing and explore this island . My first visit in 2017 then 5 years later I comeback 2022. ❤

  • @coffemaker200
    @coffemaker200 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Wow I was there just yesterday!
    Something to note is that you can use the JR pass to get to Miyajimaguchi and also on the JR ferry.
    But if you don't have the JR pass the line for the other ferry seemed a lot shorter and maybe less crowded.
    I didn't get to see as much as you did. I only saw Itsukushima shrine and Omotesando, so I am very thankful for this video.
    God, those oysters were so good, I am ruined for oysters forever now. I don't think any others will even stand close to them.
    Cheers

      I visited at this time, last year. (in 2019). I stayed at the Hotel Park Side Hiroshima (www.park-side.co.jp/english/), very affordable and only a short walk to Peace Park. Allow yourself plenty of time to visit, because even the bus ride from the airport to the bus/Shinkasen station is a 45 minute ride. And yes, the little time I spent on the island was wonderful. Take the young lady seriously when she talks about low tide. I arranged my visit to the Grand Torii/Floating Torii at what I thought was low tide, but it wasn't low enough. I was not able to walk out to the torii. After taking pictures, I walked around the town while I waited for my next ferry (which docks very close to the Atomic Dome). If you go, please enjoy your stay.

    I love your videography. I love your choice of music (Ghibli for life!).
    When I visited Japan all those years ago, Hiroshima was so unforgettable. It was a magical place.
    The Peace Park made me cry but also gave me hope whilst Miyajima mesmerised me. This is so nostalgic.

    Angela look for the Lowepro Flipside. It's the perfect rug sack for hiking with camera equipment and since you don't have too much equipment, you can also fit water/food/clothers/etc in it.
    It has a raincover, the belts make it fit tight for long walks and it has very good padding all around to wear it over long hours. It's very handy to have access to the bag without having to take it off too.
    It doesn't cost a lot more than a Jansport but it works better for what you're doing and it's build to survive a war.

    For a whole day trip, it is possible to see both high and low sea, just need some planning.

    +internationally ME I just wanted to thank you for this and your other videos. I just came back from my first trip to Japan and I went with many of your suggestions. I also saw that '7 minutes if you run a little' sign'. That was pretty funny. I was lucky enough get to Miyajima at the end of high tide so I was able to see the floating gate as I arrived and was able to walk out to it as I was leaving. For anyone planning to go, the grilled oysters were amazing and the okonomiyaki was really good (but super filling)
