Just came across your channel. Some great mods you installed. 👏 Just purchased my 2021 STI last month and want to start with some bolt ons and go from there. Thanks for sharing.
I like how you look after your car without messing it up regarding performance mods and the fuel. Keep it clean and maintaining its value. I kept mine stock with only changing the wheels. As much as i would like to do more mods but dont want to molest it and sell it in future for a new 1.
Another tip I learned from a shop on removing the j pipe bolts is to soak them in brake fluid. I had them off in about 30 minutes and that was mainly because of the upper right one being hard to get to. Definitely helped a lot.
Gr8 vid as usual. This is why folks blow Subbies up then try to say that they're unreliable. Bolt ons & a tune is enough for this platform. You want more power? Either fully build the block or buy a more powerful car.
so clean, LOVE it! i went almost same (after watching your build)! GS TMIC/J-pipe/EBC/DW Fuel pump/Flex Fuel/Infiniti R300 + Phatbotti...Shell Prem/Flex fuel for the past 50k...NO intake/NO bypass valve tho...360hp/347tq, can't complain :-)
I want to, but there is no desire at all to make more car videos. I will make another video, but it'll be on other things that I am interested in, not car related.
@@TheShaddix that’s completely okay! You’re very knowledgeable and you present your videos very professionally. Just keep pumpin out content, it’s great 👍
Great overview vid. You obviously research every upgrade. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Are you selling pulley covers? It is the best looking one I have seen. Friday I ordered my AP and MAP CAI. Do you still prefer the Grimmspeed J pipe over the MAP you bought?
Great content. I've been following since the beginning. Quick question for you. you mentioned the intercooler was purchased used. I purchased a used process west verticooler too. Did you clean it out before installing? if yes, how did you clean it? my concern is when buying used parts, many times we don't know if the previous owner blew their engine or turbo. is this something to be concerned of? unwanted bit and shavings ending up in the intercooler.
I only fixed the exterior of it and straightened out the bent vanes. I didn't clean the inside. I wouldn't be concerned with it too much, but you do make a valid point. In my case I bought it from someone I knew, so I wasn't worried.
Great to see you posting videos! Your content has helped me decide on a fair few performance and driver mods that I was on the fence about. What are your thoughts on a harmonic damper (Fluidampr) especially since you have stiffer mounts? Did you ever consider getting aftermarket equal length headers(Killer B traditional ELH for example)?
I don't think I need the dampener. Not sure what that would improve. And no, I have no desire to do all that work to replace the headers for like 1% gain. I am actually super happy with how the car is now.
Hey man, love your vids. I got a quick question, are you still running the group n transmission mount or are you back on the torquesolutions mount? Saw your old video about the mounts but got confused when I saw the parts list.
So I’m going in to get dyno tuned by Ron in a few weeks did you send over logs to him or is that just for e tuning? I already have my basemap was just wondering what the process was with you thanks again appreciate your vids!!
Hello! I was going over your mod list in the description and saw that you were running a torque solution pitch stop mount without the added pitch stop brace. I heard that it can cause the firewall to crack without the brace. How has your car been holding up since?
@@TheShaddix being that I got mine used the previous owner didn’t install one but doing research I’ve heard it’s kind of essential so I ordered the radium dual stage unit. That being said I respect the level of power you have in the car and not wanting to go much further. I daily mine so mods I’m looking to do are reliable and a bit more power but not crazy. I’m running the Cobb Stage 1+BIGSF tune on 91 I had the 93 tune installed seems to respond better. In CT on east coast most stations have 93. The previous owner has springs installed I hate them ride is really rough at time so looking to get coils really soon. I subbed to the channel your content is top notch and to the point looking forward to hopefully new videos !
@@HassansinX Yeah that's what I hear from everyone, but at this point I just dont want to mess with it. You should get fortune auto coilovers for the best ride. It's always a bad idea to only change the springs because the stock shocks are designed to work with whatever stock spring rate is. You usually get a harsh, bouncy ride as a result. As far as 91 vs 93, I actually haven't seen a single station with 93 in SoCal, so 91 was the obvious choice. Same goes for ethanol. There just isn't any around here. If you're running just a map on your accessport, you should ditch that asap and get an Etune at the very least. It'll be like driving a different car.
@@TheShaddix that’s what I keep hearing everyone saying get an Etune, but I’m just nervous as this is the first WRX I’ve owned and don’t know of any reliable Etuners out there. I’m only running the intake at the moment although I plan on other upgrades possibly a cat back or an axleback though I’ve heard you don’t need a tune for either one. Any recommendations on etuners that are reliable ? As for the gas we have 93 everywhere here though I only trust she’ll and it’s 10% ethanol so pretty safe on these cars. I’m used to Hondas so forgive my ignorance when it comes to subis. I finally stepped up to the big boys lol
I have 50k on mine now and I’ve always let it warm up and then drive relatively hard. I see no need for an AOS, unless you baby it too much carbon will build up
Personally will always recommend a catch can for the PCV side (or whichever side is prone to the most blowby) of a TGDI car. Not sure how bad the FA20s are for carbon buildup but I’m sure there are plenty of pics on the web of valves. I have an Elantra Sport 1.6T and ran dual catch cans for 45k miles with my tune and when I went to walnut blast my valves, they were much cleaner than those that didn’t run catch cans with similar mileage and I’m pretty hard on my car. Again not sure how bad the FA20 is with carbon because I know my buddies tuned N20 BMW with 90k on it had spotless valves for being a TGDI car so they aren’t always necessary. Either way, if you don’t run a can I recommend at least walnut blasting the valves every 50k if they get carbon buildup and staying away from treatment like CRC or seafoam. All that does is wash the little bit of crap it does remove back down into the engine.
I have a 19 wrx and kinda nervous buying the r400 catback due to drone with a stock jpipe. Will the aftermarket jpipe pass smog in California and would it be worth it getting one?
It most likely will not pass the smog due to the high flow cat. The car stinks quite a bit with it. Keep yours stock if you're concerned about the smog. Btw, read up on this because you don't have to smog your car for around 6 years from when it's new.
You’re so underrated. Your build is so clean and simple but to me it looks the best. Very mature build. This build is similar to my end goal
I'm looking to get to the same point number wise. Safe with a bit of a push.

I do care about the reliability, so I treat it well. Worrying about its resale value, however, is not my concern at all.

That sounds like a mess to be honest. That is the worst type of fluid you want to get onto anything.

I actually switched to the torque solutions billet one which is a solid mount with poly bushings. That's my favorite of them all.
So I’m going in to get dyno tuned by Ron in a few weeks did you send over logs to him or is that just for e tuning? I already have my basemap was just wondering what the process was with you thanks again appreciate your vids!!

It's fine. Only an issue if you abuse your car with sudden clutch drops, launches, etc. Any super jerky movements
Solid run down, any reason you have chosen not to run an AOS or catch cans?
No reason, just never got to it. Done modding the engine.
Just came across your channel love all the mods you have. Wondering if you are running an AOS or catch can ? If so which one ?

it is way better for tuning and controls boost more precisely and safely.

look through my mod list. Whatever I have is obviously what I would recommend

I am not. I like how it is now. There are no stations around with ethanol.
I got the same mods bro also do you have any issue with evap system with the readiness I can’t get mine to pass ?
no
Only 10,000mi? Wow
What grill is that?
Look through my videos...
How much is the tune for at 300-320 HP?
Contact phatbotti because the pricing has changed
will you intake pass SMOG check?
Intake has nothing to do with smog
You don’t have AOS?
no
Why not ?
