IMRC valves.. just fixed this problem on mine. Hope this helps anyone with the same truck - make sure it is plugged in, that the rods are connected to the butterflies, or replace it if it doesnt open
Definitely needs a tune up, plugs and coils for starters, my 5.4 runs really good now. It only runs like yours when I'm taking it through the mountains about 15 thousand feet above sea level. 😲
Could be your fuel injectors. The 5.4 Triton's had a problem with that. I know a guy who has one same year as yours and it got real sluggish. Changed all the fuel injectors and it's good as new.
your problem is it's a crew cab, so you have another 700-1200 lbs of extra steel on your truck, plus very shitty 3.55 gears. i have a 04 with the smaller 4.6l v8 f150 standard cab with 3.73 gears and my truck is incredible strong with excellent passing power, and i can do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds flat (what my edge evolution programmer says when i put it into 0-60 mode timer)
That's your major problem is the 3.55s. Mine has that and it's slower than yours. It's aggravating when you need to pass somebody and the truck doesn't have enough ass to do it.
I know this video is old af but if your ford is this sluggish I suggest doing a complete tune up. Spark plugs , coils , fuel filter , fuel injectors , pretty much simple maintenance. These trucks are way faster then this

Secondaries on the intake are not opening.
That was 13 days after the then-new 2014 Silverado/Sierra 1500 debut lol
15 seconds?
It has the h9 axle containing 3.55's.

I think you're towing a trailer why it's that slow
I got a 2008 f150 xl 4.2 and it's got more pick up than that think u need a good tune up and seafoam
Exactly like my old truck, same gauge cluster and everything...just mine was a year older.

I HATE COMMENTS ON OLD VIDEOS!!😭
😵😵😠😤
It's also 4wd
Time for a tune up! should be quicker than that.
maybe its the fuel filter
Change fuel filter plugs and coils and should be good my 04 f150 4.6 4x4 extended cab with 35 inch mud tires is faster then that
Look at 3.73s or if you got the money put 4.10s in and she'll really scream. The gas mileage will take a hit though
Something is not right. My 2004 F250 with a 5.4 is a lot faster than this. I used to have a 2005 F150 too and it was faster.
😞😠
Regular Cab then?
Beg my ext f150 2005 can get it lol
my 10k pound V10 Excursion is faster than that lol why is it so sluggish?
Must be towing a trailer
Nah bro nothing of tunes or whatever just give it some more gas you didn't give gas
