btw I got tactile and I recommend that one. I thought I wanted clicky at first until I heard the sound, but tactile has the *click* sound I want to help identify when I’ve fully pressed down on a key. 10/10 best keyboard I’ve owned
@@MWDAdventures Linear is the quietest. Tactile is somewhere in between. I have a tactile, but when I went to Best Buy, the Clicky version was the one on demo, and I fell immediately in love with the keyboard. I chose Tactile as I felt it was a bit quieter and wouldn't bother much at the office, but for home use, I'm getting the Clicky version.
For everyone interested in the clicky, I want to say that they are really quiet compared to other clicky type of key switches. A lot of these sound tests are misleading imo, they are really not as loud as it sounds in the video, if that's good or bad is up to you. I also own the tactical, they are almost completely silent when typing normally.
I had clicky and linear at the same time and clicky just feels like a more expensive product. And you're completely right, the click on the g915 is very muted, much quieter than these videos lead you to believe. I'm not sure about tactile but I felt like linear almost felt like a laptop keyboard
thank you for this comment, I agree, most videos don’t protrait the actual loudness of the keyboard which for some of us it’s important, not really how it sounds but how loud it is; I’m getting this keyboard!!
@@SamLoki So the tactical is really quiet, right? I have now really cheap membrane keyboard K270 which is surprisingly loud, and I'm looking for some good replacement both for gaming and typing. So im looking for a new keyboard to replace my old G910 keyboard and i think i want this G815 wired since i dont like wireless But i dont know what to choose. They say Tactile has this bump feeling on the keys to prevent typos and Linear is ment for gaming only if you dont care about typos since the keypress is instant. If i buy the tactile board to prevent typos cuz i do that alot on my G915. Will i then get owned in games by people with linear boards ? Or isent it that bad compared ? Now im not a pro gamer but it would be nice to have the same advantages they have. Please enlight me what type of board to buy. The GL clicky one is no go
I purchased the clicky (it is the only one Best Buy has in stores, the other two are online only) and I like it but I'm really considering going for the linear or the tactile. My last keyboard was the k70 mk.2 low profile with the linear low profile cherry mx speed switches and those were so nice. I get most people love the clicky sensation of mechanical keyboards but honestly, as someone with ADHD, it actually distracts me while playing games. Don't get me wrong, hella satisfying sound but also just... kind of a lot for me lol. Might need to return and order the linears and just use a shitty keyboard until it arrives.
Ordered the G815 Tactile wired keyboard, i am not sold on the wireless keyboard since i am not moving the keyboard out of my desk, i would care less about price ha! i just wish Logitech would've included USB C interface. Thanks for the cool and good review on this keyboards.
the one thing i noticed is the covering/material(?) of the keys,, as you keep using it you can see your finger oils on the keys sticking alot more easily compared to other keyboards. Its never not noticeable for me xD
Listen people, they might be expensive but the best thing about Logitech is their 50% on all products during black Friday and other big sale campaigns.
Wish they would make the same keyboard but with softkeys and super quiet! I write software code 10 to 12 hours a day nearly every day, and clicky keyboards just doesn't work for me. :(
The secondary keys (along the top of the keyboard) are only lit when that mode or option is engaged. They refer to different sets of macros and other options you can turn on or turn off on the keyboard.
its worth it imo i drove all the way to best buy just to get one after i tried it sooo good expensive but sooo good lol the videos clicking doesnt sound anything like the one in person does.
I bought the Logitech Orion Spectrum G910 and hated it , I dropped my Nescafe cup on it and it stopped working , the only keyboard that I'm still using and satisfied with till now is the Logitech G19 , Yeah yeah its a rubber dome not mechanical , fact is , I STILL LOVE IT . It fought wars with me and is still working , its a shame that Logitech didn't re release it with mechanical switches , if Logitech re released it , even if its price is 500$ I'll still buy it .
If its any consolation, you probably didn't shorten your keyboards life by much from dropping the coffee on it. I am currently on my G910 and looking for a replacement. After 2-3 years many people (including me) have switch problems. So many times random keys will give you a double input or occasionally, none at all. It was super bad 2 days ago when I was doing a lot of typing but today it only seems 1/10th as bad. Wondering if they have tried to do a bit of a software hack to reduce the double keys as yesterday I started using their new G-Hub software.
The g915 is EXPENSIVE!!! Then I thought how many people buy the Corsair k95 which matches the g815. Plus with the g915 it’s wireless which means I can use it for my pc, iPad Pro and surface pro at the same time... the price does become more reasonable if I can get rid of 2 extra keyboards on my desk to have a cleaner look. This could be a viable replacement for my g513.
but the question is: can logitech's switches now actually compare to cherry, razer, and other switch types of the same price range in both gaming and typing? Obviously Holy Pandas and Zealios V2 are not included in this, those are on another level.
the panda and zealios are not low profile...their opponent from logitech is a different one, the razer is cheap and a buyer gets one year warranty, wonder why? logitech is the first company to offer low profile quality switches. there are no others on the market...the competitors are all mid profile^^
For anyone coming to this old video. I have owned clicky and linear and this sound test does NOT do it justice. The microphone used absolutely butchers and destroys how it usually sounds lol, good next on other videos
Already got the clicky version. honestly better then any corsair I've had. Well better in my preference I should say. I'm saying it does sound different in real life I have the clicky version and it is literally the best keyboard I personally have ever had. I love the sound I sorta dislike it in the video but it is a very very good keyboard.
I cannot believe how greedy they have gotten with keyboard prices. We're past the point of "premium pricing" and in the "ripoff" territory. People are literally buying GPUs that are shockingly capable for the same price as lackluster keyboard.
I mean... Logitech also sells Keyboards for $20, and everything in between. I bought an amazing Logitech keyboard with MX brown switches for $70 just a couple months ago. You get what you pay for, and if you want to pay less, pay less.
Outemu brown, red and black switches are the best! More firm actuation force. I like the low profile trend but I need more firm actuation force. Most low profile keyboard are just too sensitive for me. Firm actuation force also feels more premium as well. Outemu, get on it! Make some low pro switches!
I had this keyboard for one day and realized it wasn't for me. I curretly have the logitech g513 with mx blue switches and was looking for a wireless low profile option to try out. Low and behold, logitech comes out with the g915 which also brings my dedicated media keys and scroll wheel back from my old g910. However, right away, I knew I didn't like the new switches.
I'm with you on that, I have a Razer blackwidow clicky and the roccat Vulcan aimo with their own Titan switches. When I heard the sound of these logitech's keyboards it kinda triggered me haha, it's not enjoyable at all compare to the ones I have.
$200 for wired... They're just Kailh low profile switches, some of the CHEAPEST low profile switches on the market. Logitech has gone off the deep end on this now. I'm sorry, but I don't think these switches will last anywhere near as long as any conventional cherry switch. Corsair is selling the k70 rapidfire low profile with the low profile cherry switches for $50 LESS than this. If anything, the wired version of this board should then be $100, and the wireless be $150. The wired version is literally twice what it should cost.
