    Thank you so much! I absolutely hate clicky sounds on keyboards! You are the first person with all three. Sounds like either the Linear or Tactile are for me. I might like the Tactile because of the feedback. I have a hand that was broken and so I need more feedback on that hand. And it sounds like it is not too loud.

    so ive been looking into this keyboard for a while cus I really wanted it. i got it and its linear and well one thing I noticed while playing games is that the keys are not picking up some of my keystrokes and that I have to press a bit harder than I like. i notice if press the key a bit away from the center then sometimes the keypress will not register unless the force is even more

  • @TheEthNick
    @TheEthNick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ok so does that mean the Tactile switches do a good job of preventing accidental presses from the side of the keys?

    I bought the tactile. Pricey but love this keyboard. For your volume wheel do you have a delay?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just checked and the volume adjusts instantly when I roll the volume wheel. You might check your drivers and make sure you are current.

    • @Blaquegold
      @Blaquegold 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      OverclockersClub it’s better now but sometimes it lags just a little. I’m loving this keyboard but using the g513 I still have to get used to the low profile lol.

      It definitely does have a little delay if you repeatedly roll it up and down, tested it and found it. But for normal use, you'll feel it reacts instantaneously anyway.

  • @tomriddle2257

    I have linear mx red (corsair k68) and I notice they are super loud on release: You silently slightly push the key and when you remove your finger (fast) it's enormously loud + you hear metal vibrating throughout the keyboard. Louder than any click could ever be.
    I wonder if these 915 keyboards have the same problem. Also would it help to take non-linear to remove that sound from the keys crashing back to default position?

    Clicky sucks but finding it hard to decide between linear and tactile. Think I’ll have to actually feel the difference

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep - very subjective, and you can't decide without a test drive on each one.

    Question: On the tactile I notice towards the bottom of the keystroke if pushed slowly it feels kind of mushy. I'm wondering if you'd agree with this and if so is this present on the Linear variant?

  • @johndough3940
    @johndough3940 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't decide between the tactile, which is like all my keyboards are, and a linear one, as I have never touched any like that in my life, and it's a lot of money so I'm pretty worried about making a mistake. I use my keyboard for work and a lot of typing, I like silence so I am leaning toward the linear. Question: when does the linear key register imput? at the bottom or somewhere above the bottom of the stroke?
    Thanks!

    • @kingoftheostrogoths
      @kingoftheostrogoths 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know I'm a bit late, but, oh well. I have the linear switch. It registers partway down the stroke, though I tend to bottom out anyway due to years of typing on a laptop. Hop this helps!

    • @lowerstreet
      @lowerstreet 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingoftheostrogoths Does the linear feel like the clicky? I like the feel of the clicky, but I don't like the sound. I tried tactile and it felt like I had to press too hard to get the key going. I've only found stores with the tactile and the clicky for testing, and none with the linear.

    • @kingoftheostrogoths
      @kingoftheostrogoths 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lowerstreet I don’t know if the linear feels like the clicky, as I ordered the linear online based on video reviews and Logitech’s recommendations. Since I stream occasionally and play with others, I wanted to make sure my keyboard was quiet. As I mentioned previously, the linear feels, to me at least, very similar to a laptop keyboard with a little bit farther of a traveling distance, but you definitely don’t have to bottom out. I really like the feel as compared to a classic clicky, like the kinds I grew up with at school with the big, loud keyboards. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

    Thanks for the review. What switch would you recommend for gaming and a lot of typing (linear vs. tactile)?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is hard to say - it is so subjective. Like trying to pick out clothes for someone else. If you like more sound from key actuation, then the clicky might be your style. I use the linear the most, but I am happy with all three styles.

    • @hideonmcdonalds5687

    There´s not GL switches, and nothing from logitech about them. These are just simple and good kailh choc switches. Gamdias hermes p3 comes at less than 100 bucks with these kind of switches. They too brag about them as it would be their design.

    • @Zero-oq1jk
      @Zero-oq1jk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are different than kailh choc. Look at them. They are even shorter.

    • @TTks124
      @TTks124 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same design, same manufacturer, 3mm shorter travel. You can call them what you want. They're choc switches. And there's a shit ton of keyboards with these switches, or some "custom" version of them like the "GL" switches.

    • @Zero-oq1jk
      @Zero-oq1jk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TTks124 You see, there th-cam.com/video/fxCYXA2zPc8/w-d-xo.html Guy compare many top notch keyboards but says this one typing experience is the best. I prefer low profile very much. There are many other reviews that this is best keyboard they ever used. I don't care about rest of keyboard so much as switches itself. I would even build my own even I never did it. So if there are really cheaper replacements for g815/815 I would love to know where. See.. there a a lot of Pizza makers on the world. Even with same pizzas types/names. But output are always different. Those little tweaks that Logitech made to Chocks I think they probably nailed it. Unfortunately they don't sell GL switches alone. So I would love to know closest equivalents as even you say this are not stock kailh chock. I see a lot of bad blood just because people have tendency to hate big companies. I would also love to hate. But like linux, everyone says it's better in many ways but almost none can use it as replacement to os x or wirdows because of lack of software or other lacks that are this little "something missing". Price doesn't matter when it comes to switches. I would pay double. Just show me better switches than GL. Low profile tactile I want.
