The base is a really good idea and setting the top inti the wood works well...
I had a little chuckle about your advice on finishing the inside 😂😂😂..

Hi Lee, no good for coffee - we have a different kit for that (actually 2 of them) the burr is different & needs a much bigger hopper for coffee - you would be filling that one up forever before you got a drink! Jon.

Looks great, can the handle be changed to match the body?

Not easily, the shaft has to be riveted in the factory to make it stable, but it can be sanded and re-coloured.
