- I found my seat belt alarm pretty annoying, as well as a passenger seat belt alarm. If I placed my bag on the passenger seat it would cause the car to start beeping while driving. I read on the Subaru forums that you can turn this alarm off via inserting and removing the seatbelt 20 times right after you cycle the ignition on. however for my model a 2009 Subaru Forester x, this method did not work. so I just unplugged both seat belt alarm connecters. it's the flat white one by the yellow cable under the seat. I assume the yellow cable is for the srs airbag inside the seat so don't mess with that one. unplugging just the flat white connector will get rid of your beeping if you choose to drive without a seat belt. simply replug the connectors to undo it.
Can confirm this works on 2017 BRZ driver side 👍
Thanks for the video
No problem. Ding ding ding ding ding lol
Thanks man.
Glad I could help don't forget to like the video. Thanks
Did your check engine light come on after?
Tried that on my 2017 impreza but its one giant solid plug. I don’t think it can be disconnected.
Thanks for this video. Easy fix and now I can have fucking 3kg on my passenger seat without being told off lol
No problem, that's exactly what was pissing me off too lol.
pissing me off too hahaha
I removed my front passenger seat. My chime won’t stop
Is possible that with this method, Airbag light comes on? Thank you!
No
Os that switch for the alarm only? Does this disable airbags
It's just the seat belt light. Does not tie into the airbags. They are independent systems
This still does not work! After disconnecting both connector, the chime, annoying chime still beeps at random times.
What kind of car do you have? I just fixed mine
i said um alot lol.
