Thank goodness! The fate of Pilate always troubled me. I've heard him spoken of by preachers as a villain through the years and just didn't see it. In the gospels he seemed to me to be the most rational and just person aside from Jesus in that horrible situation. I only became aware of his reports recently and to here of his salvation leaves me joyful.

Overall, a very interesting and thought provoking video. But - we have a couple of conflicts with historical facts that we need to ask about, and to give an honest assessment in the story of Jesus. Regarding Pilate - We have no record of what happened to Pilate after he was recalled to Rome, but an execution would have been notable, as this was rarely performed on Roman Governors or Consuls without a trial. Furthermore, capital punishment was not allowed to be carried out within Rome proper, and there is no record of Pilate being taken to the hippodrome area, where executions were held. Rome in general, was focussed on judicial integrity, although by today's standards we would not think this is the case.
Governors were highly esteemed officials, agents of the emperor, and were rarely brought to trial in such a manner as you describe. The exceptions are so notable they DO stand out in Roman history. The first was Gaius Verres, who was notorious for his mismangment of Sicily during Caesar's reign. The other, a little more vague, is Antichious Maximus, who was allegedly taken to Rome tied to the back of a mule for theft.
The fact that Pilate was in Jerusalem and in the middle of Jesus's most critical moments IS validated. Under any other circumstance, Pilate would have been comfortable in his estate in Caesirius Maritima, neat the present day city of Jaffa. He realized the Passover would be a time when a great many Jews would be in Jerusalem and his desire to put down revolts was great. It is important in a way, but Judea was NOT a great place for a Roman governor. Few wanted to be stationed there, and his appointment under Tiberius was deliberated based on his stern and rigid adherance to law and order.

@@katydidd6321 catholic church wasn't founded till constantine 350ad because church was in people's homes under penalty of death, Jesus said His church referred to believers not a denomination because each denomination claims their the correct one if you read what Jesus said in revelation you'll see "church" history laid out in advance in order from beginning to medieval to protestant & He describes how each one will be to the letter. God's word is true & each church takes bits & pieces not the whole Bible, in it is the answer to everything just read it everyday and every night

@@Maxtana5 The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ Himself and He made Peter the first pope. Constantine made it legal throughout the empire, but it's been known as "Catholic" (from the Greek, katholikos) from it's inception.
Catholicism draws from the entire Bible, all of the books from the Old Testament and the New Testament, as well as 2,000 years of Sacred Tradition (writings of the saints and desert fathers). This is why I'm interested in the lives of the early saints, they had incredible lives.

    • @Maxtana5

@katydidd6321 no catholicism was not founded by Jesus zero proof of the just as peter being 1st pope, he even said so in his letters that he wasn't. Jesus has brothers and sisters james&jude were His half brothers they did not recognize Him till after He rose from the dead, catholic is so micmxed with peganism look at ishtar(easter) & saturnalia(christmas) you'll understand the heresy, i fell for the lies of church's & just read His holy word constantly because man has not corrupted it, if you're interested in truth in history check out josephus writings from that time. Jesus is the only way to heaven nothing that I do thru any church will do anything but the price He paid for my sins, He paid it all & all anyone has to do is receive

@katydidd6321 where proof Jesus made peter the pope there is none, more vatican lies. Jesus, pointed at Himself said upon this Rock I will build My church, church refers to believers not a denomination. Jesus was at mt hermon when He said this about the gate of hell because that's where the fallen angels came to earth. Jesus has brothers&sisters james&jude were His half brothers, in 1 afternoon 1 pope slaughtered more Christians than all ceasars combined! You pray to people when Jesus gave explicit directions to pray to the Father only, you worship idols & pray to them. I left that cult behind & never felt closer to God. Remember only God can forgive sins, not man. Jesus said call no man father except your Father who is in heaven but nobody obeys His commands only some pedo-pope who is of the synagogue of satan. I pray you can get out of the lies from the church & investigate ishtar & saturnalia the lies about easter & christmas, He is the Truth not the vatican it is beyond wicked

Jesus said the same thing to believe that's it then man come along & invents different religions & denominations each one more pious than the next making the hebrews seem humble big the chosen people when the fact is God said He would come in the flesh, take out a people from the gentiles for His own, not catholics, bot protestants nor evangelical a people. Jesus refers to the church & it means believers because church until constantine was in people's homes under the penalty of death but again every denomination thinks their the only right one & that attitude goes against the gospel of Yeshua

Claudia might not be an actual follower because of the disruption going on but she believed he was “Holy”. That is all Christ expects from us.
Pilate knew he sinned giving into the mob to crucify Jesus but could be forgiven. He is remembered in the Apostles Creed to this day. “Suffered under Pontius Pilate”

We were all taught that her dream was from God.
But when you think about it, it would more plausible that Pilate's wife had it from Satan.
Satan knew his eternal destiny would be the lake of fire after the victory of the cross.
Certainly, he did not want Jesus to go there.
This is why he tempted him and tried to have Jesus killed before.

This day was planned before the foundation of the world so her dream changes nothing but maybe the hearts & direction of pilate & her after the fact. Pilate knew he condemned an innocent Man, he put in 3 languages Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews he wrote in in hebrew it upset the pharisees because in hebrew it said YHWY that's why they asked pilate to change ut & his reply was what I have written will always remain written

Sounds great but everyone should do their own research before believing any stories and find out what scholars think of the writings as well as the time period they were written in and by whom. I say this because many writings were fan fiction and written well after the time period and not first or even second account witnesses who wrote them. Many are divorced and automatically believe whatever tickles their ears and than spread the fan fiction stories. most writings have been looked into and investigated in great detail and there is a reason why many are not included in the Bible. I will be further investigating myself and I urge everyone else to do the same.

From historical content on Pilate there is nothing about his wife, nor his own writings and writings to the emperor.
The story of Claudia is only a recent and spectaculative.
The name Claudia is only mentioned once , that's in Timothy and appears very unrelated to this narrative.
Alot of so called gospels were floating around up to a couple hundreds after Christ. Many unfounded . Paul in his time wrote against these cautioning the believers adhering the basics etc .
Though the early church fathers had other eye witness accounts they accepted as true so there is a need to be open minded but with caution without going down rabbit holes .
It seems a nice story but nothing supporting it just speculation..
The Catholics cannonise anything that supports their narrative..
Iam sure Pilates wife had something really special going on . We,ll find out 1 day .

This is a lie! Claudia could not dream of Jesus as He was alive and Claudia was not a Christian. She heard about a holy man and told her husband about what she knew. Claudia had no dreams she had anxiety and profound fear knowing her husband was to judge my Lord. You create stories out of context without truly analyzing real facts. Claudia was severally preoccupied to the point to be delirious while in her chambers thinking of the judgement that was in place at the palace by her husband. Claudia was a pagan Roman, not a saint. You have no knowledge nor authority to claim anyone as saint.

I don’t agree with your critique at all. I thought it was interesting, informative and concise. Just what’s required instead of protracted highfalutin, boring, wordy, nonsense.

Very poor narration. And poor volume. Those with high-pitched or otherwise inappropriate voices (like mine) should dispense with their arrogance and leave the job to those who are better suited.

      No need to forgive.
For it was written 📖 and was fulfilled ☦️
The old covenant unto the new covenant
The scribes, pharisees and sanhedrin voted agreed and demanded arrest and execution by crucifixion by the Romans..
That is why Pontius Pilate washed his hands..

Ummm Pharisees called for the crucifixion of Jesus. So did Sadducees.
