    The tragedy, but also the significance, of Pilate's choice to clean his hands of Jesus, was that he knew Christ was innocent. But he was also fulfilling God's purpose, even if he had no knowledge of this occurance.

    Powerfully dynamic. What is truth? Jesus, the supreme Judge of the Universe together with Pontius Pilate, the supreme judge of the world at that particular time, give the answer: The Creator together with His creation is NOT GUILTY before God AND man. The blood of Christ testifies eternally of the same truth before the throne of Almighty God. The result of this truth gives rise to the Gospel. The Gospel I believe says this: I am not guilty before God. So is my fellow man. Therefore I can love everybody like I love myself.

    Pilate was recalled to Rome and lost job. He lost his job because he had a northern preacher and his followers killed when they attended a religious meeting. Pilate feared anyone who was attracting a following. He crucified Jesus because he was attracting a following. He put king of the Jews on his cross as a warning to the Jews that anyone claiming to be a king would get the same punishment. Pilate was considered too ruthless to retain his job.

  • @pannonia77
    @pannonia77 ปีที่แล้ว

    According to the Synoptics, Jesus did not talk to Pilate. In John's Gospel he has a long conversation with him. Which gospels are then right?
    And where did the writer of the Gospel of John take this conversation between Jesus and Pilate, as there was no-one there who could have told him some 60 years later what was said between the two.
    So Sproul is basing a house on sand, not on rock.

      Who told Moses the account of creation and of this scripture ?
      Genesis 1:26
      [26] Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

    • @OCJ0001
      @OCJ0001 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 Timothy 3:16
      [16] All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
      2 Peter 1:20-21
      [20] knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. [21] For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

    • @pannonia77
      @pannonia77 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OCJ0001 Do you cite the Bible because you have no arguments of your own? My point was that the Bible contradicts itself. You didn't address this point.
      And anyway, a writing can be profitable for teaching without being historically true.

    • @pannonia77
      @pannonia77 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OCJ0001 1. Genesis (and the whole Pentateuch) was not written by Moses.
      2. The creation account is scientifically untenable.
      It is just another proof that the Bible cannot be the inerrant word of God.
