Ralph you have one of the few motorcycle repair channels I look forward to watching. Most other repair channels just swap out parts and hope for the best. I like that you investigate why a part failed and how to avoid the problem. Good videos...Thanks!
Thanks! I like to figure out "why" something failed, or is not working right, and not just replace things as the same problem may develop if you do that. I am a bit anal in that respect lol. Just trying to help others look out for things that they may not know about. Thanks for commenting.

Man, these are some of the best repair videos out there. I really appreciate your methodical approach to pinpointing issues. Looking forward to the next video on Margaret. 👍
Thanks. I am just tyring to pass on what I see, and am doing. Hopefully they help some others out there with problems they may encounter. Thanks for commenting.
Got a couple things I'm trying to line up!!!! I always say if you don't know what your doing and you can't figure it out.......leave it alone!!!! Great video!!!
I agree that you need to understand how, and why, they work before just tyring to change what should be right for the system. Live and learn. Thanks for commenting Tbone.
Yes they can be. A little quieter and gives one time to focus on something they want to do rather than what they have to do. Good luck with your own project. Hope its coming along. Thanks for commenting.
Another awesome video thanks! I’m not in the service but, my parents raised me to always thank/shake hands with soldiers, veterans, & anyone keeping are country/Canada/World safe! I now instill that in my kids! Should never go un-appreciated! Appreciate the great content!!!
Thank you so much for you kind words about sevice people. It means a lot to me as more and more they seem to be forgotten for what they all do, and did, of us as a nation. More of the base line "morals" need to be taught to the generations coming up. Many are gone ... but not forgotten, in my books. Thanks for commenting.
Bloody clever... I have always grappled with getting my battery out of my spun oil-tank and you come along with a couple of vice-grips, and ''wallaaa''... All too easy !!! Thanks mate...
You are welcome. They are always a pain to get out, especially if it is a custom tank. I found this was a quick and easy way, for me at least. Glad it helped you out. Thanks for commenting.
Ralph, thanks for all that you do. My goal for 2025 is to start with your first video and watch everything. I love that solenoid handle on Gus's Shovel. I've never seen that setup before. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you and thanks for letting me know where you are from! You Tube helps bring us together, from around the world, to share our love of these old machines. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks Hippie. Glad you liked it. There is always a cheap fix and then there is the right way to do things. I try to do my best, when I can. We are all still learning things. Feels good to finally have some time to get Margaret up on the lift and start woking on her, I'll rub her gently for ya ha ha.Thanks for commenting.
This shovel tank is really nice in this colors. This is the second video where i see you working on this pull start, and that said to me than i have to open to do the things than you show.
They do take a bit of fooling around , to get set up right, but hopefully I can help others , like yourself, to understand how they work and and how to set them up. Each install can be a little different so there are no hard and fast rules. You just have to remember that they push and pull back and both need srping tension to work. They are a great idea and eliminate a lot of problems. Thanks for commenting.
@@itsmytimeletsgo Yes i have seen when you have made this, it is a little moment to do this and that resolve the thing. I will also doing a paper joint too, because that leak too much .
Good video Ralph I'll bet you were hell on wheels when you were a young man how long you been riding those Harleys I'm 71 I've been riding them for about 50 years got two evos three shovelheads twist and shout man
Lets just say I lived life to the fullest lol. Got my first Harley in 1974. Suicide shift, raked out springer, way tall sissy bar and king and queen seat,. knucklehead Chopper. The wife and I rode her hard for many years. still have her to this day. I'm 70, 50 years of riding Harley's, so not far behind you lol. Thanks for commenting.
I hate when you take anything to a so called professional and they are actually butchers that is why I will never take my tri glide back to the dealership I bought it from for work
Sometimes others are trying but just don't know about things. Everyone should know your own limits, but they should not let on like they know it all. We are all always learning stuff and if you can't admit that then there lies the problem. Thanks for commenting.
Getting you winter projects ready to go? Let us know!

Yes I like to see why it failed instead of just replacing it, so it can do it again lol Thanks for commenting

Thanks it is appreciated. We often do not take care of ourselves like we should. Thanks for commenting.
will you be powder coating the frame.
I think I will after I am done a bit of mock up in case in have to make modifications or weld on it. Thanks for commenting.
Going to fix 2 leaks on my 93 fxr trans & rocker box leak. New tranny covers, new black braided oil lines & new AB 1.4kw starter.

Amen brother! No one cares about yourself as much as you do! Or find someone you trust! Patience is key just really hard to learn 🤣

seems a large majority of repairs on these old bikes is fixing something someone has done wrong.
Yes that is often the case. They have been through so many hands and everyone has had a go at it. lol Thanks for commenting.
Nothing like a ham-hander to dick up quality work. This is always frustrating fixing someone elese's shoddy work.
Yes but I guess everyone has to learn the right way sooner or later. Thanks for commenting.
@@itsmytimeletsgo You hope sooner rather than later. But, idiots shouldnt ply their trade.
Troubleheads.
Yes they do keep it interesting no doubt. But they will probably be here when many of the newer bikes are dead and gone. Thanks for commenting.
Some people should not be working on bikes. Thanks Ralph.
Everyone has to learn sometime. I always say never be afraid to fail, as long as you learn from it and move ahead. Thanks for commenting.
