I'm not sure if mine is considered dokidoki, but I met my boyfriend on a school trip overseas! We started talking because I was bad at directions and I wanted to go to the mall, so I asked him to bring me along the next time he went! Because everyone was saying how he had a good sense of direction. Then he texted me one day to go on the trip (Everyone in the trip was in a group Whatsapp chat) and I was like "Who are you??". Since then we started talking and we got together at the end of the trip, which was 5 weeks in. It has been 6 years since we got together :) He still brings me around because of my bad sense of direction. :D And yes apparently people 'slide' into each other dms on instagram to get to know the other person better! I'm a private person so I don't accept private conversations XD
I forgot my wallet and a chocolate bar at the conbini. (bought the chocolate and just walked away leaving both) My apartment was on the upper floor of the same building as the conbini. My wife came knocking at my door during her break time and returned my wallet and chocolate bar... but the chocolate melted. From then on I would talk to her every time I saw her at the conbini. Eventually asked her out to dinner... etc etc. Multiple kids later, she gives me a melted chocolate bar for valentines day.
I met my husband via Facebook. He was living in Japan and I in Poland that time. We became friends and by ‘mistake’ he told me he likes me very much. Because of distance (and previous relationship) it was difficult for me to belive him. So he told me he will show me his feelings. He quit his job and transfer to Romania because it was closer to Poland. And for 3 years once per month we were flying to see each other. After my university we engaged and I moved to Romania for him. Now we are 4 years after marriage and we have 3yo son
My parents met at an ESL school in Los Angeles in the late 1970s. My mother is Mexican and father is Japanese, and they married regardless of speaking good English. I am blessed to have experienced two beautiful cultures and it’s so interesting there are many more various ways to connect internationally nowadays. Thank you Hitoki for bridging the gap between many different cultures!
Wow, that sounds like you have lots of cultures in your life. I wish I grew up like that. My mum is Scottish and my dad is English so not very different cultures. You must know like 3 languages then, I’m jealous. I only know English. Even though Scotland has it’s own language, no one speaks it. Now I live in New Zealand which is another English speaking country so I’m only surrounded by English.
I'm an American living in Japan. I met my Japanese husband at my eikaiwa. He was one of my adult class students. Two years later after I changed jobs, we started dating and now married for several years. 💕
Back in early 2016 I was living in a share house and a Japanese girl moved into one of the spare rooms. She had come to Australia to study English. At the time I helped her out with various things and we started hanging out, going to cafes and stuff like that. Soon after I was very interested in her and wanted to start dating. At the time we were both 28 years old, and she was hesitant because she knew she would go back to Japan and didn't want to get into a relationship unless it would be serious. I was ready to be serious and managed to convince her and we started dating. Coincidentally, before we had even met, I was planning to visit Japan with two of my friends later that year (it was my first time going to Japan) - however her student visa also ended around that time so we travelled to Japan about 1 week apart. While in Japan I ended up buying a ring in Tokyo and ended up proposing to her after spending a day together in Enoshima. After that I then returned to Australia and she stayed in Japan. I then began the process of applying for a prospective marriage visa (which was a lot of work!). She then came back to Australia on a tourist visa in early 2017 and while she was on a tourist visa we received the acceptance of our visa application. We then got married in July 2017 and a few weeks after the marriage we found out she was pregnant. Fast forward to today, we managed to buy a house together here in Australia, we have a 4 year old son, and are living a happy life. I was never really that forward with girls growing up, but being more proactive early in this relationship really changed my life. Life can change in a very short amount of time!
I met my partner while studying abroad in Japan. We are coming up on our 4-year anniversary and now we're engaged! He asked me out by asking me how to ask someone out on a date in English. So cheesy, but so cute! International relationships are hard work due to language and cultural barriers, plus long-distance, but they are definitely worth it.
The cutest way I met someone was when I was new to world of warcraft and the guy volunteered to be a tour guide and we became friends that played together a lot so when we both became single we both confessed feeling butterflies when we played together so we decided to try dating. Meeting someone happens when you least expect it ^^

I love the video, very cute stories! Such as: ventilation that allows drying clothes indoor during rainy season, its maintenance etc. Also the bathtub system, timer, temperature control etc. I'm so keen to know!!! Thank you😄
My parents meet each other in a party, my father invited my mom to drink and dance, but for Hitoki San talk if girls maybe is very hard to him hahahaha, fithing Hitoki!!!
I got on my ONCE IN A LIFETIME exchange program in university, but it was 2020 so it had to be online and I didn't fly. All of my classmates were super cute :^) but that didn't make me mad or sad or anything :^)

I hope I can write my story here one day 😅
I love the video, very cute stories! I know 3 languages so far, English, Spanish and American Sign Language, although I feel like I have to brush up some language basics again time to time since I do get mixed up from other languages (I wonder if this happens to other people knowing multiple languages). I grew up in a Spanish speaking home but in school spoke English all the time with American Sign Language interpreters with me. I am aiming to learn more languages, Japanese being one of them. I want to travel and meet people and be able to communicate with others!
Good video!
Me literally studying right now and you just uploaded so ….. what am I goon do 👀
Ok so I am sure your video will be the best as always but
I will watch it tomorrow cause it is late now in my country and now I am literally studying for JLPT so 😅
Edited..
Can’t hep but I watched
Always the best 😁😁
I liked this video :) I'm meeting someone from Tinder in Osaka next week so fingers crossed. Luckily he speaks English really well.
You right
Hola 👋👋👋👋👋🙌 me encantan tus vídeos ☺️ tu pijama es bonita 🤭😀🤗
2:11I'm Brazilian and here the boring conversations are always the same:Hey how's it going?
Hi, I'm fine and you
That's good too
And it ends, it has some slang so it was kind of hard to translate into English sorry if it got confused
Onomappu, I enjoyed your videos! It is irrelevant but... Could you please do a detail video about Japanese bathroom technologies. Such as: ventilation that allows drying clothes indoor during rainy season, its maintenance etc. Also the bathtub system, timer, temperature control etc. I'm so keen to know!!! Thank you😄
What would be the best learning method for learning Japanese (or any language) for a kid? I would like to know!
I met my bf through a Japanese english language exchange discord server but we were just friends at first.
My parents meet each other in a party, my father invited my mom to drink and dance, but for Hitoki San talk if girls maybe is very hard to him hahahaha, fithing Hitoki!!!
Well I currently have a crush on my Japanese online sensei so that's just great (it's terrible!!!) 😆 🙃 😅 😂
Just a note, in the Spanish cc subs it translates supeingo as “japanese”, so it says you’re studying Japanese instead of Spanish 🤣
And here we have a Hitoki in the wild, losing his sanity for 5 minutes 58 seconds.
(really curious about the bar technique 👀)
Omg the Your Name story was so cute 😭
Kimi no nawa😂😍💕
Why is Hitoki getting cuter and cuter in each video
I got on my ONCE IN A LIFETIME exchange program in university, but it was 2020 so it had to be online and I didn't fly. All of my classmates were super cute :^) but that didn't make me mad or sad or anything :^)
The last one got me🤣
Hi i from iran and i love japanese boys 💕
