Great review. I own the RRSS Dynamic, and it is a multitalented beast. Everyone likes driving it or riding in it and the sound from the exhaust is music made in heaven. Accelerates like crazy at any speed, pefect driving position, supple air suspension ride, fantastic Meridian stereo... and not one repair or failure in 20K miles.

My 5-year old RRS was fantastic, and after picking up this one, it is an improvement. Not a perfect car or SUV for that matter, but what vehicle is perfect? There are few vehicles that matches the luxury options (more than I even need) for this car. Some minor quality build issues, but I like this better than any of their competitors. RR defined the definition of a true luxury SUV on road or off road (which I suspect most buyers do not do and I'm not ashamed to say I'm one of them). I'm not sure if most people agree with the pricing, but that is not the main issue for me and if you go for this car, you should NOT skimp on the luxury options.

Having a RR is like having a gorgeous smart supermodel girlfriend but damn...she's temperamental and so demanding..... She melts your heart from the first time but also walks out on you (sometimes in the middle of nowhere) when you least expect it......Do you still love her? - Absolutely. Would you marry her? - God help me.......
Jowazi Well said, I love my 2012 RR Sport Superchraged but she is high maintenance.
The 2016 has one factory service every year or 16K miles. The only thing that I've had to replace are the brake pads on the Brembos at 10K miles and an O2 sensor.

modsurgeon yeah the 2016 are better made than the previous years. I used to have a 2014 RR SPT HSE and it had a lot of problems but the 2016 doesn't have any.

This Range Rover Sport is my FAV 21st century British built vehicle. The current one which came after this is just too concept car looking for me.
Lol crazy somebody comments who has no clue the quality is way way up there im sure bmw and lexus dont have a 12 month waiting list and still people ordering . The quality is top take it from somebody who builds them. As for the bmw or lexus can they even go off road I no what I would rather have if It was snowing. I remember last year towing a bmw x6 with my freelander 2 because he couldn't move in tge snow he was stuck on grass and couldn't even get up a small slope . Range rover sport quality reliable well built and WILL get you anywhere whatever the conditions and wont have to be towed by a diddy freelander 2 in a bit of snow.

Looks way better then previous gen RRS, Though i still prefer the previous gen L322 Full Fat range rover, as the new L405 one looks to similar to a for Explorer.

Cherokee srt8 ftw haha. All the sport, about the same off road, just you know, down a bit on the luxury. But man the sound it produces makes up for it.
Such informative questions.... how about, “why do prices plummet after purchase” or “are these a horrible vehicle to buy because reliability is a joke”. I see these used for fractions of the cost, why?

Mine too. Managed to get one and it's gorgeous. Build quality is fabulous and certainly as good as the X5 and Cayenne I test drove.

MrPeterthepilot yes Tata was made for people who live in India so it's meant to be cheap and reliable reliable
Mikolaj, only had it 5 months and so far it's fine. But I've had two other Land Rover products and neither has given me any trouble. Sure it's possible to pick up a problem car but then it is from other manufacturers and I think TATA have now sorted out many of the problems. My LR dealer says that in the last 5 years reliability issues that they have had to deal with have fallen by almost 40%.

Looks great, drives great, but will fall apart faster than any other vehicle in it's class.

Range rover? I yawned when i saw the tilte, you better have good insurance when buying this car cuz once you take it to the hills, good luck bringing it back in one piece. I suggest if your looking for an off road car, buy a jeep wrangler or even better toyota's land crusier. Now thats an off road car

probably not, the RR has improved an awful lot since under tata ownership as much more was invested into making it more reliable
Nonsense. The only people who say that either don't own one or don't go off road.
The best thing about owning the RRS is that I can drive it on 400 miles of highway at an easy 85-95 MPH and then go the last fifteen miles in on the Rubicon as easily as any stock 4X4 ever made.
I am absolutely more careful with it then I am with my Wife's Wrangler though. Nobody cares what the Wrangler's paint looks like.

MPG is no better than 80's 90's Classic lol, it'll look fantastic once that front spoiler has gotton ripped off after the first time used in anger, but dare you use it in anger ??

it is too over priced and overrated. MPG is horrible, quality sucks and I am sure the resell value is gonna be horrible. Why? because the quality is no match with Lexus RX, BMW X6 and Acura MDX
The Quality is better than those 3 that you mentioned. Far Better. I used to sell Acuras and I really really like them but if you sit in any of the new Rangies then you will notice the quality is sublime. Not only that but none of those SUVs compare with the Range Rovers. They can't go off road. Th ones you mentioned are just mom SUV's to drive the kids to soccer practice

The BMW X6 has had some of the worst reviews of any BMW on the market. It's unreasonably priced, badly equipped, and performs badly compared to most BMW's. The X5? Maybe, but that's not in the same price point. Land Rover has always been known to have reliability issues, especially with electrics, but they are supposedly getting much better. Besides that, resale values for Land Rovers have always been good because people like them and are willing to pay a premium to buy them used.
its a no brainer to me !! leave em all in the show room, just a Total and utter waste o money, I really cant see any viable use for them nowadays. Range Rover Classic from the 70's 2 door is still the daddy
Lots of people who don't own one seem to have an opinion about them.
24 MPG at 75 MPH and 550 HP seems pretty respectable to me. Better than any other car we own except our Civic. Better than my NSX (1999) as well.

The ML isn't in the same segment of cars. The GL, yes, and it's a very reasonable competition, less the off road capabilities, which admittedly don't matter much because no RR owner goes off roading.
