    Damn I got charged $600 for an oil change! It was my first time and i had feeling it was suppose to be around $300. great video I just picked up a 2020 rr sport v8 too!

      Should do the oil changes yourself. Its soooo much cheaper, and really doesn't take long to do. I have a 2020 RR v8 also

    I completely agree w/you Eddie. ALL cars/makes & model have their issues. What baffles me is how much complaints/rants there are on the web about Euro cars and very little w/others because even the reliable "brands" have their issues. The difference is cost due to the premium and origin of parts manufactured. It's a matter of paying the price of what you chose. This is the vid I had been waiting for as justification if I was to convert from VW group (17 Q7) to JLR (20' F-Pace SVR) - I still ended w/another Audi (20' SQ5). Every vehicle does/will have a general to same or even unique issues. It's the owner(s) responsibility yo whether have it taken care of immediately or hold it off and result to possible furthermore damage and spending. Either way, glad to hear your story on this Eddie and hope for the best on your ownership experience w your Range Rover - stay positive ;)

    Find a good mechanic. Only go to the dealership if you absolutely have to. Most of my maintenance is done by my trusted mechanic. Oil change at the dealer is about $250, and with my local mechanic $140 with a loaner car. I love land rovers. Onto my second one now.

    Not sure if you watch the channel “LR Time” but they give a lot of insight on these vehicles. Since your a person that has some knowledge of cars you will understand there point of view and how we should be doing our own in between maintenance on these rovers.

    Question: Is the 5 liter in the JLR cars a collaboration with FoMoCo?

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Kind of. Jag started working on this engine before Ford became part of them and Ford used variations of the engine in certain early Lincoln vehicles. Also some Aston Martin cars have that engine as well. The engine was built at a Ford plant in the Uk.

    • @gbriank1
      @gbriank1 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@eddiemcars Yeah, the 3.9 liter used in the Lincoln LS. But I never remember that engine winning any awards. It's a shame they didn't take the 4.6 liter dohc engine from Ford. That engine was near bullet proof.

    Your airbags won't deflate on your new one if you let is sit for a while. That starts happening well after 10 years being in the weather. Of course a oil change will cost $300+ at the dealership its a luxury car, just like your BMW

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think airbags are an issue like the older ones, but I noticed the ones sitting at the back of the lot and the other dealer appeared to be lower than the typical access height. They were L494/L405 models.
      I totally agree with you. Any luxury car is going to be expensive if you utilize the dealership for all the maintenance and repair work. Future plans, I will go down the DIY route.

      FYI if you have your vehicle in storage for a while and disconnect the battery, reconnect the battery, and if the air bags aren’t raising, use a floor Jack on the Jack points and then it will raise by telling something to the sensor. The passenger point did it for me. I’m a young blonde on my second Range Rover and they’re great just maintain it like a princess and get on repairs asap. Way better than jeeps off roading too.

    Thank you for sharing your story. I had a similar experience with my 2016 Range Rover sport. After multiple times to and from the shop even with the extended warranty I eventually got rid of it after 3 years. I felt like I lost my GF after all the time and money I had invested into that vehicle .

    • @jcdentonunatco
      @jcdentonunatco 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      ya you ideally want to take it places other than the land rover dealer. They make a lot of money on the repairs, and will charge a lot more than an independant shop. You can buy a lot of the parts OEM online for so much cheaper than land rover sells them for. The dealers are always backed up, and their service is just awful from my experience

      @@eddiemcars It may well be worth it. I'm sure you saw the Doug DeMuro video summary of his Land Rover. At the end of the warranty, it paid out over $22000 in repairs for a $4000 service contract. Since then, CarMax will not write a contract on any JLR product.
      As a side note, is the $7000 contract from JLR directly?

    Wait a Minet how you can show a old model Range rover and say it is expansive to maintain i really dough this channel, It is purely looks to be paid propaganda against Range rover i have been using the one-year-old range rover now 2023 model, and it is untrue what you said in this channel.

    • @eddiemcars

      The point I’m making is that it not as expensive as the rumors suggest. It can be costly if you skip on scheduled service items. Also, like any luxury brand, utilizing the dealer for all your service items will add up. Eventually, I’m going to DIY certain things.
      Your 2023 RR is brand new. I would expect it to be near perfect.
