I couldn't help but laugh as she gagged and screamed at the vender.

We weren't allowed to send them any food, but soap was ok. So someone came up with the bright idea, which worked, of making soap molds and filling them with white chocolate. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the link!

I had to do this for a new play festival I was helping do props for! The character onstage had to eat a whole stick of butter, so I made a hollow modeling chocolate butter stick that he kept the hollow side towards him, so he could eat it all fast and the audience wouldn't see that it wasn't solid.

When making cold process soap there is a test called the zap test. Essentially you wet your finger, swipe it on soap and then lick your finger. It is a way of testing is soap is lye heavy - if it is it feels like your tongue is zapped. For a good amount of time I completed the zap test by straight licking my soaps. I am a 25 year old adult (ha!) Did not even occur to me to use my finger...

In my country a different kind of edible soap was made. It was called mejdlicko (little soap) and it was made of potato starch and acid. The product was some kind of potato sugar. It was discontinued during 1950's. Our elderly people still remember them being memorable flavour of their childhood.

This reminds me of the time my brother ate actual soap when he was a baby. I watched him take a bite out of a bar of soap and he was munching on it like it didn't taste bad. I was a young child maybe 5 or 6. I grabbed the soap and took a small bite out of it because I was curious if it was tasty. It was gross and I spit it out. After that I tried to get the soap out of his mouth.
