      Dude isn’t a force multiplier. Dude needs overwhelming talent against weak talent to win. Caleb has never been on a team without Lincoln Riley or top tier college players around him. If he played at a school like Kansas, Washington State, Arkansas, Or Northwestern he wouldn’t have done half as good. The guy is overrated and will be out of Chicago just as fast as Justin Fields was.

    I first saw the equation “1+1=3” in a book by one of the original mad men of advertising, George Lois. He used it to delineate “creativity”, specifically in print ad creation where you combine two separate thoughts together to form a “big idea”, which impacted sales greatly. In this context, Coach is suggesting perhaps Caleb is a quarterback whose creativity positively moves the marker.

    Maye should sit minimum 6 games IMO. That'll give the coaches enough time to find the best starting 5 at O-Line. It will also give Maye some time to fix his footwork and throwing mechanics. If he sits longer so be it but I hope he doesn't start week 1. It'll be Mac all over again

    Just because you don't understand things doesn't mean you're wrong. The fact that it makes you uncomfortable or that you don't agree with the approach of team A or B, doesn't mean it won't work. Let others work, give real football professionals time to do their jobs. Following from the outside or receiving one or another piece of information from sources within football does not entitle you to question and find absurd the choices of successful people who have been more than tested over the years.

      Let him sit the first few games, let the team gel then have Maye come in if he’s beating out Brissett. At the end of the day if Maye gives you a better chance of winning, the players won’t accept him sitting.

    • @Gungho73
      @Gungho73 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jackfeldman8684 I'd also argue sitting will help him more then playing him right away would. Dude has some serious warts with his game that show up even in his "highlights" and I don't see them getting resolved if hes trying to juggle that and a franchise week-week. He's the player I feel least confident about of the big 3 QB's drafted. I don't like to speak ill of a young man who has just accomplished his dream of playing in the NFL before he's taken a snap, but when you have a player who shows what he shows on film with the physical potential he has, the smartest move is to not thrust him in. If he tries to play as he did in college with no alteration I personally think it'll be a disaster. If he gets to sit it'll help him tremendously long term.

    If the goal is to win as many games as possible, not very many should be starting.
    Bo Nix is the best rookie QB. He should ABSOLUTELY be starting (unless Tom Brady decides to go to Denver and play with Payton).
    Caleb Williams should be sitting behind Bagent. Bagent is better and Williams is going to be a huge bust.
    Daniels should be sitting behind Mariota.
    Drake Maye should start since the Patriots dumped Rourke.
    J.J. McCarthy should start.
    It won't matter whether Bagent outplays him - Williams will start, either way.
    Do you guys think all these (and every year's) rookies are better than Mahomes? Mahomes sat his first year and it seems to have worked out fine. Just stop.

    I truly believe five years from now we will look back on this draft and say Drake ended up being the best. He is only 21 and I believe he will be very similar to Josh Allen. I am OK if he sits for the first year because the patriots are not winning the Super Bowl. it’s always a wrist starting a rookie QB. If Caleb gets sacked and has a horrible season that might destroy his confidence. If Jaden gets injured. That might ruin things for the future. I am an advocate for always letting a rookie QB sitting for the first year. Especially when they are supposed to be your franchise QB.
