We don't know for certain that he fell into the core. And the only things you can use to say that the DT extracter was made by gaster is one quote from alphys, and the fact it resembles a gaster blaster. Sans has more confirmed ties with alphys, and he could have provided the blueprints

Not only because it's just really good (it keeps the original song's feel of creepy and sad, while also repeating the main leitmofit throughout the song). But also due to it's nature as an AI extended song. AI extends songs through training on countless examples of music and it's patterns. Wich means that indirectly, every single music artist available to it contributed, while also not directly contributing. It's a song made by no one, inspired by everyone. Much like Gaster's paradoxical nature.

Mild spoiler though, it turns out the "Freedom Theme" is literally Gaster's Theme, so in Deltarune we're very likely to have Gaster's Theme transition into the Freedom Theme if we ever meet him. Honestly, all the gaster stuff was probably just a huge teaser for Delta rain considering Toby already had it in mind even before Undertale was supposed to come out. It wouldn’t surprise me if gasters theme was just one piece of a larger one and it would actually be really cool to hear the full thing if he ever does get introduced into the story properly, it be cool to see it all come together so many years of build up
The ai addition adds so much more depth to the theme. Like it starts out so creepy and ominous the usual thing we get when we hear gasters theme. but then it suddenly begins to evolve like his theme is is giving us the full picture from his point of view and it’s scary to think whatever he’s saying could be right but we just don’t know
Usually I considered music made by AI very linear, predictable or just with no actual soul behind said song. But this one has proven me that there are rare occurances where AI might cook something good.

While Gaster's theme is actually meant to be creepy, this one is more...tragic .
Which leads us to change our view on this fascinating character . Sure he's a mysterious omnipresent and creepy...but when you think about it, his story is more tragic than anything else.
I mean he literally dedicated his life to the monster race . The CORE is the source of all their powers .
He did this so that the imprisonment of the Monsters Underground would be less painful to bear. having electric current, it necessarily changes lives for the better, right ?
And after that, he fell into his creations, and scattered...now condamned to watch the world he once cared about so much, living without him ... As if he never existed at all..
I wonder.... If Gaster IS indeed the main antagonist of Deltarune as a lot of people think, wouldn't it be interesting to discover the reason that led him to act like that, was the rage to live with the idea that everyone will never and ever remember his existence at all. The loneliness that consumed him though all these years...
There is so much potential for a Gaster Back story... I hope Toby is planning one .

I've either never heard Gaster's theme before, or if I ever did I forgot it completely. So hearing this, i have no clue what part is AI and what part is from the original.
Pretty weird experience.
The original is just the beggining, it's a very short song
The ai decided to remain subtle the whole time while others like me would have gradually build up louder. The ai practiced restraint impressively
